  • @brasshandmartialarts

I'm not even sure what you mean....explain.

    Have a great day!

  • It has been some years but that is exactly how my Sensei Katsumi Davis who learned from Hanshi Zenpo Shimabukuro. She taught me Anaku wich was basic in my training. I did not study SEIDOKAN but from the Seibukan. I'm not sure what the differance is but The Holy Art School. and From the forrest are what Shorin Ryu are about.

  • I'm glad you were able to relate to how I do Anaku Kata. Seidokan & Seibukan are very much related. My instructor Sensei Toma studied under Zenryo Shimabukuro, Zenpo father. As you can see we are one of the same family. If you are ever in Okinawa, let me know and we'll train. See ya!

  • i have watched a couple of your katas...you do them very well.i am trying to find the katas that i did many years ago so i can start to train on my own and your katas are refreshing my memory and are close to the style that i trained 25 years ago. thank you for putting them on , it is a big help.

  • Great job Sensei Nix hope to train with you again soon. Have a wonderful day.

  • Funny, I barely even recognized that kata. Either somebody improvised this kata, or America really screwed this kata up when they started teaching it to us.

  • It normally depends on which style your in and how someone performs it. Most major styles teach this kata...and sometimes I don't even recognize the kata. I practice Ryukoku Seidokan Karate for the last 30 + years. My Master is Sensei Toma. What style do you study? Who is your Sensei? Have a great day.

  • I think it was the latter, dude!

  • Sad to see that most of the Seidokan kata I see are done different. Either someone is changing them or Toma taught them different throughout the years.

  • This is the way Sensei Toma teaches the kata. I may have a few slightly different steps or matterisms in my dojo but that's normal. I would like to see your version on how Sensei Toma does it. I've trained with Sensei Toma since 1980. I live in Okinawa. Have you ever been to Okinawa and trained. Give me some back ground. Have a great day.

  • I loved this form when I was a kid. I still do, but for different reasons now. It brings me back to my "hard" roots.
