It's silly how every1 feels the need 2 record w/ their cameras/phones... instead, try 2 engage in the experience rather than making a copy of it. Besides being really annoying to the rest of us (standing next to U or behind U), it's a violation of the artist's rights. Unless given permission, they shouldn't be doing it.
Unless you have great equipment, it will look & sound like crap, as it does here. In order to turn on & focus the device, you have 2 "remove" yourself from the moment... not concentrating/absorbing the art being created in your presence. Wouldn't you rather have a vivid memory of the event in your head?
Out of ALL the musicians alive on this planet Stevie Wonder is THE musician I've wanted to meet the most for quite some time now. This was indeed a dream come true, he is one of the most amazing musicians and human beings ever.
just to be so close to that man. people pay loads to see him from a distance... and there he was... three feet from us!
his bodyguard was totally chill too- he made his point to peeps without getting aggro. i was impressed by his demeanor considering how stressful his job can be sometimes.
This was the most amazing musical night of my life (on my 30th birthday no less). The best part was that Supertaster was kicking so much ass that Stevie went from just sitting in back drinking champagne, to smiling and nodding his head, to finally hopping up out of his seat to come down and sing with the band. They totally won him over, and that along with everything that followed was a musical dream come true for everyone in the room. Just incredible.
The transition to "I Can't Help It" was bold, but you totally pulled it off. I see what Adam said about throwing Stevie for a loop for a second there ... but he recovered right away and then the band just stepped right UP -- vamped 'til he got his footing, then as soon as he did that little "mmmm" to let you know he had it, Bagale did the drum accent at 4:11 and it was ON -- every piece fell into place. Just beautiful, man.
So unbelievably stoked for you all. What a great honor. You all sound great. How did you get him to your gig?
