You cant smoke in there anymore since the illinois smoking ban took effect. Closest casino for me so I go there alot too. The new one in DesPlains is really big with lots of room and newer machines. One of the last riverboats around. Back then in Illinois casinos had to be on the water by law. I rember when this one first opened you had to wait in line and get a ticket and the boat had to actually go out on the water.
i was at Mohegan Sun Casino here in Connecticut i played a Sizzling 7's slot machine 3 Credit one and i got 2 red 7's and a Sizzling 7 i came away with about 300 Credits i cash out right away and not even attempt to chance it

I work at a casino in Wisconsin and know how bad the air inside the building can get from all that smoke, especially from those big stinky old guy cigars. Wisconsin has a smoking ban, but Indian casinos are exempt. And yes I have seen people light up cigarettes while their oxygen tanks were running. If you go to any hospital or nursing home you will see signs posted that say "oxygen in use no smoking", only these people never read those signs. Anyway good hit on the Wheel of Fortune.
yeah that place does suck. i lived in that town most of my life. i did hit a jack pot though(triple diamond) in 2006. paid me out 4,000 with only 50 bux put in. next day i went and played 5.00 monte carlo in the high roller area hit the bonus for 1,000 on a 5 dollar. i won 9,500 in 24 hours it was nice. but since i havent won jack. i go to michigan 4 winds, its not too far from elgin and they give you free slot play and nice hotel suites all of the time for free

Believe it or not, it is the ILLINOIS GAMING COMISSION that wants to bring back smoking on Illinois riverboats! They claim that their revenues have dropped since the smoking ban went into effect a couple of years ago & smokers are going to neighboring states to gamble and light up. Most of the casinos dont have a lot of comments but I spoke with the general manager at Harrahs Metropolis and the patrons are enjoying the non smoking atmosphere and his employees arent using as many sick days!
Actually, Illinois casinos are supposed to be non-smoking! The ones in Indiana however, reek of smoke. But, at least the Horseshoe DOES have the quarter version of Wheel of Fortune!
