@leonor123456 Without the internet, Gil would have fallen into a deeper obscurity. Without the internet, Gil wouldn't be getting as much recognition. The internet was a big reason why he made a comeback, with the publications reporting on I'm New Here back in 2010. He returned to touring on a larger scale and surely made more money than he previously had been making in the past few years. Maybe even more money he had made in any different years of his career.
@leonor123456 I've already purchased most of his catalogue, but to deny that the internet didn't bring him back into the independent limelight is just foolish.
Hey, I'm from Brazil but I was living in Portugal last year - when I had the fantastic opportunity to watch Gill's concert in Lisbon. Ask me how did I find that he was still alive and "giging" through Europe? Internet, my friend. By the way, I paid 25 euros for the ticket, wich was very expensive for me...
@leonor123456 the internet has helped music if it wasn't for the internet record labels would promote soulless music to the masses and gems like Gil scott heron would be forgotten quickly because it is not in their interest to have a musician speak to critically about society and the powers that be. I am forever in debt to the internet to opening my eyes to real music that touches my soul.
gil scott aint no love lost my brother ........................... thank you!!! this song makes met think of my homecountry Surinam i miss my people so much, ill give them a visit in the summer i live in holland now :"(
Ho da poco acquistato la ristampa del vinile di Gil Scott-Heron. L'ho fatto a Londra precisamente da Honest Jones a Portobello Road. Grande disco e grande pezzo questa chicca che s'intitola Back Home.
@RJhonda14 i'd give anything to have been able to do that....i was born in 1974....i bought this album about 7 years ago and its one of the greatest decisions i ever made.
i love this Brother...i honestly do. This particular album is poweful, especially the live version of 'The Bottle"....i enjoyed ur comment, take care.

Youtube is killing many jobs in music industry all over the world:
local radios, tvs, local venues, record stores, etc, etc, MILLION
OF PEOPLE who could live thanks to this artist. Billion of kids
enjoying of music, parties, concerts,.
After internet, the new artist die immediately because nobody has
to buy him and the only beneficiary is youtube, we'll never have
a music revolution like the beatles or u2 or nivana
And the only beneficiary is youtube or facebook?
NO SIR!! this must end

Damn...such great soulful healing music. Hope Mr. Heron is doing well. Heard his live wasn't always easy for him during the last years. :/
