I would reserve a bit of scorn for the wussy play spokesman - talking about how they "didn't intend to offend anyone." Give me a fucking break - do you live in the real world, fella? Because if you do, you s/'ve known that OF COURSE Christians were going to be offended by a cross-gender Jesus. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe people s/ be able to do plays about whatever they want. But don't put out something you absolutely know is going to offend people & act surprised when they're offended.

I'd be much happier if he'd said, "Yes, we offended a bunch of bigoted people. I wish I could say I feel bad about that, but I don't. Perhaps they've got a small idea of what it's like to be one of us now, though I would guess not."
