this song is a different take than the original album i got in '63. also differs from the Amazon MP3 version. Miles has no solo at all on the versions I have.
Love this record!! My favorite Miles' quintet of the sixties. Contrary to popular opinion I favor George Coleman lyrical and always swinging muscular tenor over esoteric and harmonically not very convincing Wayne Shorter. Just an opinion, however well informed.
I'm a jazz newbie. I've listened to kind of blue a million times and I love it.. but I've tried stuff like coltrane and it just seems too frantic and all over the place for my untrained ears! If anyone has any recommendations for me please let me know. Thanks!
Dang, I used to have the album but sold it California. It has a great French intro. Tony Williams was only 18 at the time. Even after almost 50 years it touches my soul.

Try "So What" (live performance) by Miles and Trane, you'll love it.

A true classic, given the 'live' extended treatment by Miles & his famous trio + an inspired George Coleman. Beautiful music.
