Personally I love Slash's sound and I would disagree that he doesn't put soul into his playing, especially in the solo of this tune. With all the bends and vibrato is really comes across as soulful to me. Thanks!

@Maarliecore well the half step down tuning makes the string more loose, wich will make it easier to play, and the pentatonic scale is a way to play, like a standard that we follow to make a good solo/riff/etc.if you are a guitar player try to do it, tune your guitar a half step down and play mostly pentatonic scale,use it like a base and develop it.

that's what slash does...of course he had to have talent and soul to make some things, but i am talking about his technique

@ledroad666 Well I am a guitar player and I just found out Slash plays .11's - eb tuning is probably still twice as hard as standard tuning with the .9's or .10's that pretty much every rock guitar player uses. And the point is that Slash does colour his playing using secound and seventh's, which obviously aren't in the pentatonic scale... And he does so brilliantly - his finger movement is the most ergonomical I've seen - that's why he can play fast but still sound very clear.
