My 15YO nephew is really obsessed by Harry Potter- worryingly, he just won’t grow out of it.

Last month he actually went into a really dodgy, deprived area of the city & started incanting ‘spells’ to- as he put it- “drive out the filthy demons of poverty, drugs and alcoholism”. He was arrested just in time to avoid a serious beatdown from the locals.

He seems to have conjured up a whole new belief system with a bizarre mix of social consciousness and fictional magic…

Heck I only bought my home because rent kept going up and I wanted a home less then rent. So I could care less about the market value of my home and crap like that. I look at my house as just having a roof over my head nothing more. And I know I'm not over extended (no car payments etc) and I got decent credit and I'm actually looking at tents cause I dont trust the economy. Then I was watching videos on peoples attitudes on the homeless and mean cops and having no place to just disapear, sucks

When I was in college, I took in a homeless guy for 30 days, who had previously been homeless for 8 straight years. Unfortunately, all the guy wanted to do was drink my beer and camp out in my apartment with the cable remote in his hand, like he was on vacation. -He never made an attempt to look for a job. I had to put him back out on the street after 1 month, after it was obvious he didn't want to help himself.

Many talk about how we can have no impact upon the people living in other parts of the world, yet they forget that we have problems right here in the U.S.A. Start right here!
