I think it was called Fathers and Daughters? I just know the memorable line from the chorus: "I'm gonna watch you shine/ Gonna watch you grow/ Gonna paint the sign/ So you'll always know/ As long as one and one is two/ There will never be a father who loved his daughter as much as I love you." X3 It's a terribly sweet and cute song, which is why I originally favorited this video-the song makes me extremely happy. ^_^; Then the song changed... it's a nice song. Just not the one I wanted. >_>;

Thank you so much for the wonderful video! I'll tell you something. There is often no parent-child relationship like a father and daughter. To the father, the daughter is like the little princess, and to the daughter, the father is like the king. In addition, everyone needs someone that they are so relaxed around, and often, the father is that person for the daughter. Amen?

I think all family relationships are important (see my vids on mothers and sisters), but personally I think the mother-child bond is the strongest.

@lastsafeplace I disagree. While you could be right in a lot of cases I think that's because of historical gender role. Men should be held responsible by society to be just as dedicated fathers as women are mothers. I love my father more than any human being because he worked and sacrificed and STILL DOES to make my life a good one. I'm not a princess to him because he gives me tough love. But I look at every decision he makes even today and I see that it's for my benefit and never his own.

But fathers are held fully accountable and have none of the rights. Mothers can abort babies, abandon babies to hospitals, not pay child support, get social assistance. Fathers cannot abort babies, or abandon babies, but must pay child support or go to jail. Moms block fathers access to kids but don't go to jail, dads who don't pay go to jail.

@Diogenes1369 It's sad for the fathers who care.I think it's one of those cases where society teaches boys what fathers are and what mothers are and they need to update their curriculum. One evening our instructor was late and said, "Sorry, it was my daughters volleyball game. I had to be there" and a classmate said, "Awww, you're such a good dad." I was sort of taken aback. Imagine as a woman what it would be like if all we had to do to be considered good mothers was show up for games?

@Elfinesmom I'm not sure what your point is or how it related to what I said. It wasn't just showing up for games, but taking time out of events from your schedule to do so. What I previously wanted to point out was that, fathers don't have the rights to their children, but have all the obligations, whereas mothers have all the rights and none of the obligations. I find that hypocritical especially if the mother is considered the primary caregiver.

I think there is HIGH expectation of mothers in this culture. Just not fathers. But I do agree with what you're saying about legal rights. They can: abort babies, kill them when they're born, secretly adopt them without telling the father, anonymously drop them off at hospitals, etc...mothers can choose to terminate their parental obligations at every time in a child's life. Fathers, are obligated to pay child support even if they didn't choose to become pregnant, and are not guaranteed to have access to their kids. Fathers can go to jail if they are unable to pay child support.

@Elfinesmom abortion is legal, 'infanticide' (murder) is more leniently treated, and several hospitals already have anonymous drop off boxes. Adoptions are also done without the consent of the father, and in some states the biological father has no right to prevent the adoption. Most child support is levied on the father. Simply put, mothers have all the rights and none of the obligations, fathers have only obligations and no rights.
