He stool my balloons..... HE STOOL MY BALLOONS WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL ME HE HAD ONE OF THOSE.........THINGS!!!Jack gun............I'm going to need some time alone boys.LOL I love that movie
Funny when i saw this in 1989, I was like "Y is this movie so dark, and hard to see?!" Then i saw the garbage Bat Forever and Bat&Robin, then i appreciated the first movie better.
they can keep makin batman movies out hollywoods royal kazoo, but tim burtons classic along with its sequel Batman Returns will aways the true Gold. i mean, watching this video, and the moon thing and all that, just shows how amazing these batman films are. fun and cool, all in one. the new ones just plain SUCK.
I saw this movie when i was 8 and the only thing that i remebered of that scene is that when the batwing fly through the cloud and when the moon and the ship married, the shape of batman's logo appeared. it was pretty sweet and iconic and probably the most impressive thing I ever saw in the superhero movie by far.
i love how Batman ends up being really injured and then eventually gets his ass beat for a while, it makes it clear that he's human. The newer movies make it seem like he's this super-human person. From the shoot down to the end make this movie
@jpl3119 Imagine at Xmas, imagine how useful such a device would be when wrapping presents, I mean the military did think about adding scissors to the F22.
@Ambush083 Sorta. It WAS Danny Elfman. :) I saw this in the theater in '89, and that moment where the Batwing flies up in front of the moon got a big cheer.
I think he was just taunting him. He quit shooting too early and I dont believe Batman would just blew Joker form Batwing without letting him know... Just a theory though.
Its more likely that he has prety big space between machine guns and Joker is one lucky bastard.
@MisterMeddle He had a giant red bullseye aimed right at Joker. The shots fired in a line right up to him and then missed at the last second. I dunno, just kinda hard to believe that he'd miss.
@InnerVenom123 Well the target was very small and he was in a far distance. Plus the Batwing wasn't steady. It was flying at a fast speed going downward. It's no different than expecting someone to get a clean shot with a machine gun 500 feet away from somebody while he's running down a steep hill.
@MisterMeddle and @InnerVenom123 Or maybe Batman was just trying to scare off the Joker and his goons off the street. and destroy the Joker's parade float.LOLOLOLO!!!!
It's really meant to be funny, rather than make some sort of sense. The joke being that Batman missed with gatling guns and missiles (all being guided by a bulls eye). While the Joker brought down the Batwing with a single shot.
@InnerVenom123 Yeah that's pretty much the one weak point of this scene, I don't get why it missed. Other than that, this scene gives me an orgasm everytime I see it.
@InnerVenom123 probably could be a manner that the thing needed some testing and much calibration before being used on the real field. And Joker. Is that a rather large gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
@InnerVenom123 He obviously missed on purpose. his moral code of not killing someone stopped him from doing it. Even though he wanted to so badly. You can see it in his face when he pulls the mask away after he fires.
@fighter4luv I'm sorry, remind me, where was that moral code when he brutally murdered Jack's men in the factory with a giant explosive? Or when he tossed thugs down the church tower to their death?
@InnerVenom123 How was he to know there were people in there? We don't see anyone actually die :P and in the case of the cathedral, it was either him or them... sometimes he doesn't have choice. You never actually see him actually "kill" anyone :P
@fighter4luv I think the fact that people were shooting at his car was a clue that the factory was inhabited. And the bombs literally drop at the feet of said shooters. And yeah, he's got tazers and tear gas and kung-fooey moves. He had a choice. Burton's Batman is a stone-cold killer. That's proven further in Returns.
@MrDynamoJoe The scene where he bombed Axis was no different than the time when Bruce Wayne burned down the home that killed Ra's Al Ghul's protector as well as the ninjas. Even if Keaton's Batman killed more than Bale's I'd rather have Batman permanently wipe out the crooks & murderers instead of severely injuring police officers (in the real world they would never survive those crashes) and putting other innocent lives in danger.
@MrDynamoJoe He could've used his ninja skills to escape. But instead he made the choice to kill everyone inside the house by burning it down, right after he claimed that he isn't an executioner.
@InnerVenom123 For god sake the targeting system was only used as a guide to fire warning shots. This was used for suspense to make the audience think that Batman was going to murder the Joker.
@Psychatron I think Nolan did a couple scenes to pay homeage to the 1989 Batman film ..... It kind of gave fans of that film a nostalgic feeling when watching it in movie theaters, it was really cool.
