Would you know of the flux from a magnet passes right trough the bismuth, or does bismuth act as magnetic shielding? And if bismuth works as shielding, about how thick does the bismuth have to be, for example, to shield a one inch square by one quarter inch thick, grade 52 neodymium magnet?
Diamagenetic, It expells all lines of magnetic force as a direct result createing its own field in opposition(repelled). This has to do with how paired electrons react to a magnetic fields. Bismuth is not special in the case of Diamagnetism even water is diamagnetic. Outside of super conductors the phenomenon generaly rather week. As for your general idea of "shielding" i would suggest looking into how magnetism works aswell as researching the law's of Thermodynamic's.
@Lokivoid I am pretty sure superconductors are never diagmagnetic, at least while in a superconducting state- because all superconductors are impermeable to magnetic fields (source field pushes against itself), not creating an opposing field to the magnetic field.
such property should be ignored.

Does ICE is magnetic? its water...so making a ice stick would be magnetic, theorically

Where do you get rods of bismuth...Ive searched and searched and cant find it even in rock shops (In Canada)

you should make a super thin rod of it so that way it will suspend ontop of magnets

Hello, very interesting thing I was wondering if bismuth may also serve as a magnetic shield between the two neodin magnet
Thank you for your reply and wish you a nice day

Bismuth is the awesomest stuff in the universe! (with a half life older than it!)

Nice video, showing what people don't expect to see - metal fleeing a magnet!

I bought some today... I love it... great video! This really shows its awesome diamagnetic attributes!

To RavnoUK,
Thank you very much. I find it ordinary, but everything is relative, so I'll skim your videos too *s*
