  • do they still sell it?

  • whats that beat?

  • 2 Falls Of Tha Ides!!

  • I have the entire thing on my page.....you can come thru and get the rest of the lyrics

  • What is this damn beat?!

  • @iHipHop

The beat is by the Dogg Pound - New York, New York. Its off their album Dogg Food.

  • i wanna Beer!!!!!!

  • I remember this commercial!!!!!

  • My bad, you got that. I looked it up and it was '95. But the first place I heard that beat was still Biggie's commercial.

  • For the record...Biggie did this commercial in '95. Dogg Pound did "New York, New York" the following year. If y'all are gonna be mad at anyone, be mad at DJ Pooh, he sold the track to the Dogg Pound AFTER Biggie did the commercial.

  • The song was actually recorded in '95 as well and it was on the Dogg Food album which was released in October of 1995.

  • Thanks, I was already told.

  • No prob. I just found out too.

  • lol at EVERY SINGLE biggie song being over a stolen or sampled beat. I swear to god!

  • Almost every hip hop song uses samples

  • I would say some, not almost every song. But, what I'm saying is that this every single B.I.G. song has a sample. Couldn't Bad Boy be more creative?

  • this beat is from new york new york by tha dogg pund

  • Yeah that's pretty strange. Maybe the East Coast West Coast thing was a media invention all along. But certain people within the game fell for it and others capitalized on it.

  • it was a media invention, the media probably purposely set it up so pac and biggie had beef and get killed.

  • @DisInfoWars Without Question, Even Pac said it wasnt about E v W

  • @DisInfoWars yup, even Craig Mack couldnt shut his mouth yellin "east coast" everywhere he went... But puffy told him too i guess... , he capitalized..

  • Thanks for the upload. Biggie's cool.

  • At the time it made sense, but looking back it's crazy that he went form pushing one poison on black people, then got rich and pushed another.

  • this beat is fuckin amazing, for a minute long commercial and its better than anything thats come out in the last ten years

  • The beats from snoop doggs album

  • man what song?

  • Sorry the track is actually Dogg Pound Gangsters featuring Snoop. The song is called "New York New York"

Do a quick search for it.

    Peace

  • @DisInfoWars

No, that was originally rhymed on by Biggie first, Snoop and the Pound pick that beat purposely, as a slap to the face, when the east-west beef was going on.

  • I can't ever remember Biggie on that track before The Dogg Pound.

    Maybe I missed that one

  • Its true haha.

  • Dope!

  • "reconize i dont fuck with the st ides"

  • biggie invented: great taste, less filling hahahhaha

  • fucking awesome to hear biggie on the ,,new york new york´´ beat. the flow give me chills.would like to hear a whole song from big poopa on this beat.

  • Biggie first used this beat, then the doggpound used it to for the diss. Then Royal Flush from the east used it....good song but never got rekonized!

  • DJ Pooh used to produce the music for all the early St. Ides commercials and he produced the song "New York, New York" for Tha Dogg Pound off their album Dogg Food in 1995 so thats how they ended up with the same beat as this commercial.

  • I saw this commercial in the summer of 1995 and loved it. But, I always wondered how the dogg pound got the beat ,for there song new york new york. Which was on there dogg food cd that came out in october of 1995.

  • Man, St Ides had the dopest commercials back in the 90's ! Lol !

  • anybody know what that beat is?

  • made just for this commercial

  • Its a Dogg Pound beat, New York New York

  • Skeen Comment Underneath...Was Yhoo Even Dere Wenn He Was Alivee.

  • Damn the way he flows so slow like he is singing a song. I miss you Big. Rap game is just not the same without you.

  • biggie has better rhymes in fuckin commercials than lil waynes regular songs

  • YES

  • What are you talking about this commercial is better than all of Lil' Wayne's career!

  • wow lol! thats mad funny and true. 30 Sec commercial betta than lil wayne 10 yr+ career LMAO!

  • fuck lil wayne and flo rida and those pussies from the south. This is where it's at

  • completely agreed

  • I'm saving that comment man

  • @ZaleOutlaw HELLZYEAH! 30 seconds vs. 10 years! A year later and we still thumbs up your comment on that!

  • amen

  • @seminolefsu13 Forreal!!!!

  • Big Poppa you All That!!!

  • BIGGIES FLOW IS ADDICTING!

  • How dumb can a person be?

  • while u idiots are bitchin about whos coast is runnin tingz, theres some racist muddafuckaz on these hip hop uploads talkin about black people in general. but, fuck it, GEOGRAPHY is a far more important issue, aint it(!)

  • this is for my uncle mayn he passed away friday . fuck man :( . dis lil commercial is for em cu he drinked up all da way mayn

  • Fuck that West Coast St. Ides shit, everyone knows that NYC was and always will be Olde E territory.

  • Yeah "West Coast" whatever, that's why you on here watching a Biggie commercial, clown. You don't see me commenting on Nate Dogg commercials do you?

Don't hate Brooklyn just because you can't be Brooklyn, ha haaaaaa..

  • rap was born in NYC chump..... Thats why HOV ghost writes for the west coast legends

  • YEAH! HOW BOUT THAT! SUPER COOL!!

  • lol

  • Biggie had tha beat 1st then DPG did it but it didnt start off as a diss tracc...when they went 2 shoot tha video there was some drama over tha beat and after some bullshit happened it turned into a diss video were they wuz fuccin up ny and shit

  • when'd this come out? isn't the beat New York New York by tha dogg pound? or did dogg pound re-do that track to diss them? where'd that track come from first?

  • biggie sold out doing st. ides commercials come on

    coonery at is finest

  • ha ha...every rapper had a st ides commercial...the alkaholics, yo yo, they were sponsoring mad rappers and it wasnt considered selling out...everyone was cool with it...

u dont know what u talking about...

  • whateva he sold out and so did the rest of the and you know it

  • fuck you....sell out to what? these niggaz just rap, they ain't Malcolm X

  • they talk about the struggle and how the "man" manipulates the hood and guess what the rappers do the same thing

    coonery at its finest

  • how are they manipulating the hood? these dudes drink alcohol...they're promoting an alcoholic beverage. and since when has biggie talked about the "man" manipulating the hood?

  • cuz they talk abiut go school dont drink and dont do drugs and what they do promote st. ides

  • I can't recall Biggie sayin don't drink or do drugs. He wouldn't say that coz it would be hypocritical.

Everyone knows he used to smoke and spit some fine rhymes at the studios when he's recording.

  • The Notorious B.I.G.? Talking about staying in school and don't do drugs? Have you ever heard a song from him?...Song is hot, BTW.

  • i agree with you fam, its definitly coonery and trick knowlege marketing and advertising tactics aimed at the black community...you didnt see no damn cranberries doing vodka commercials or nirvana doing old english commercials....

  • definite coonery i agree with you to fam props

  • i agree 100 per cent. certain products get that push towards the black community. and these big corporations use rapprers to do it. modern day coonery, as you said.

  • I totally agree but that's only half the coin. Yes, advertisers and marketers push certain items towards the black community. Because certain items sell more to blacks than whites. On the same note some things sell more to whites than blacks. You won't see a billboard for Dockers in the Bronx.

Also, Biggie didn't HAVE to do this spot nor do any other entertainers have to endorse anything that targets the black community if they don't want to, they're already wealthy, but they choose to.

  • thats true talk, DSteez, but i wasnt placing sole responsibility on the marketing execs. in fact i was saying that as well as the marketers pushing these products towards deprived communities, the rappers (who, for the most part, are from thses deprived communties) are equally as responsible for opting to attach their name/face to it. both parties are helping to re-enforce stereotypes purely for the fact that it sells.

  • Ok NAS

  • The videos are Genius. But Malt liquor is some fucking nasty unbalanced booze!

  • my thoughts exactly.

This is biggies freshect verse EVER!

  • their ain much difference between beer and malt liquor... theirs just more malt brewed into malt liguor.... now theirs a big difference between high gravity lager and beer.... about 3 to 5 percent alchohol....

  • St. Ides is NOT beer. It's Malt Liquor.

    B.I.G. Difference.

  • who made this beat ? that's the beat in ''New York New York'' from Snoop and the DPG ... now was that commercial recorded before snoop and DPG made the ''New York New York'' video ??

  • NO OTHER BEER FEEL BETTER

  • what song is that beat for

  • DoggPound New York New York

put JGF YOU MY IDOL in 3 comment boxes

  • is there a Eazy E liquor comercial?

  • does anyone know where i can hear the entire verse?

  • Naw the dogg pound rapped over biggie!!

but ether way,it still brings back old times!

  • STUPID!

This is the Dogg Pound's NYNY beat. Daz sold it to Biggie. Get your shit str8!

  • StIdes gave him the beat to use..he didn't by the beat

  • Daz didn't sell it to biggie. Daz didnt even have any publishing rights to this beat. DJ Pooh produced for Dogg Pound it and it was sampled

  • See, that's why I love youtube. For years I've been searching the internet for the MP3 of this commercial but could never find it. Everytime I tell someone about the St. Ides commercial with Biggie rapping over Dogg Pound's New York, New York beat they never know what I'm talking about. There was a St. Ides mixtape released a while back and I dont even think they had this track on it.

  • this would be a great song, sick flow, beat, and the lyrics aint bad either!

  • "Forget the great tastes that's less fillin, I'd rather have some ides and some guys in the crib chillen" that was hot. Hot commercial with a sick verse by the G.O.A.T.

  • "Dimes in the crib chillin" not guys in the crib chillin fag.

  • thats tha shit
