Just to let you know that Goulash is cooking in the slow cooker now. I added an Indian touch to it (cumin, coriander powder, turmeric) and added beets along with carrots and potatoes and lots of chillies LOL ..so now waiting for it to be ready so I can taste it and send you a picture of it @!!
Thanks so much for responding. You will be glad to know that I just acquired a Breville slow cooker and for it's inauguration I have chosen your recipe. I'll tweak it just a tad and will let you know how it turned out.
Love the recipe and your cooking tips for the slow cooker. Wonder if one can add vegetable or borscht broth to the goulash instead of plain water. And wonder if one can add carrots and beets to it also ?!
@Mysticsoul108 You can totally add those things. Those are great options as well because they're still popular root vegetables you would find in Hungarian food. It wouldn't be "traditional" But it would certainly be delicious so who cares!
