(part 2) e.g. parking and speeding fines are up to 10x higher for me as a foreigner as for locals. And if you argue with a policeman and your language skills are not good enough they just tell you that they arrest you until they have found a translator (that you have to pay for). There control and help is needed... but I dont think a call center can solve that...
I am German and working and living since 3 years in Slovakia. And I can just advise the EU: Dont make stupid films, train the local authorities in the new eastern countries that they are service for the citiziens and not gods with stamps (continued in part 2)
Reasonable film. Interesting to glean a little about the other EU information services.
The music sounds a bit awkward the second time it's brought in, can't put my finger on why, and the video jerks a bit, e.g. on the scenes with the moving vehicles. I did find the chosen piece of music a bit annoying, but someone always will :-)
This is one of the most unintentionally funniest films ever. I love this bit: If you have a professional qualification.. Nurses, yeah okay, teachers yup fine with that, hairdressers?!! hardly a vital skill on par with the other two.
Whoever produced this film has a fine career ahead of them in the world of comedy
They intended to show us that there is a wide range of professions you can apply for in EU. I find it very interesting and informative. Not so funny in my opinion ...
I'm a US citizen, and I wish that I could move to the EU. As a subject of a government that has lied to me and my people, as a citizen of a country that tortures its enemies, real or perceived, and as a concerned member of the American underclass, I'm interested in applying to the EU as a refugee. Is this possible? If so, how?
Sorry, are you talking about the US or the UK? The UK was ranked 18th in 2000, the US 37th. Do you have some evidence that's changed? And why do you blame the Labour government? They put money in to the NHS which was under serious strain due to excessive cuts. Where have you been the last 10 years? I'd think it's gone up the rankings if anything, or probably stayed the same since it was in crisis by '97.
I think you can try in Belgium, its quality of life is more than good, espacially in its nothern region "Flanders". Belgium is a welcomming country, and since its a smaller country its social security and health services are all wel oiled. The perfect state in which they are now will last for years. If you are in need of help here, help is what you will get.
Where are you from ? Yes, of course its legal. Belgium welcomes everyone ! If you move to Belgium, we would like you to understand and speak our 2 main languages. Dutch and French :)
As a EU citizen, I have used this service, when I was faced with
unlawful requirements by an EU Embassy, for a visa for my wife and son.
They pointer me to SOLVIT.
But at the end of the day, it was useless. a waste of time.
Solvit or Signpost service cannot make EU
member state officials comply with EU law.

Why not the "Citizens' Signpost Service"?

I'm not sure about the rest of Europe but if you were planning on coming to England then I wouldn't bother.
We get lied to by our government all the time as well.
The quality of life here is also getting poorer by the year. Our health service has become a joke. >.<
