@majorghn Yes it has reverse! Don't use it too much but it has come in handy when the need to back out of a parking space that is not level. Thanks for watch!
I'm not a fan of your music selection but you by far have the best rider review on a wing. Like you I want my 1st purchase to be on an older wing - I was worried about the size until I seen your video, go job and thx for posting.
Congrats for your video,my HD Ultraclassic is now for sale ,your description about the Goldwing makes stronger my decision to get one Goldwing for me and mi wife.We are not having any fun in the Ultra in this days,is very noisy, very shaking, too heavy, doesn't accelerate, doesn't breake, everything get loose,Now is time to buy a real piece of technology.
I really enjoyed your video (and your 5 min claim to fame) lol. My story is much like yours, my family were just as surprised when I bought an old bike (1978 Honda cx500) last spring and started riding. I did a lot of work on that old bike bring her back to life but we shared some great times together! The other great thing was that my wife started taking trips with me on it toward the end of summer so I just bought us a Goldwing. It's not as new as yours (84 aspencade) but I love it!
I was thinking of getting the NT700 as my first bike, then "grow" into the Goldwing. You have just convinced me to do otherwise. Thanks for the great video...
I had been riding a 250 scooter for a couple of years. Then I had an opertunity to purchase a bike. I was able to buy a 1999 Honda Magna 750 which only had 7000 miles on it. I took the rider course as well and it was very informative. I have owned the bike for 3 months and have also logged over 3000miles on it. I like the feeling of freedom and felling like I'm part of the world around me. I've seen things that I would never see if I was driving my truck. Ride to Live, Live to Ride.
I had a '76 Goldwing Special Edition LTD that i fell in love with, too. An incredible experience to ride that lovely beast, especially out in the open with the audio system kicked in.
Good for you; thanks for sharing this terrific video, and happy riding!
Man this is a nice video. I'm 61 and my life long dream is to own a Goldwing. I havent ridden a bike in years but my buddy Jim at work has been helpful and has encourage me to buy a goldwing. Will be taking riders course then getting bike. Thanks for the great ride on yours.
I agree. The orginal got flagged as containing a copyrighted song and it was blocked. Therefore I removed it and remixed with the Captical Offense version.
To the poster: You seem to ride verry well, I recognize the "dip" before tight turns, you're not affraid to lean the bike.
For everybody: I've seen verry smart people not taking the risk of having for a first bike something that is heavy or has more than 500cc, but I've also seen people (even girls!) geting on a 1000cc Suzuki GSX-R for the first bike and surviving. I've seen GSX-R sliding on muddy roads with a girl riding and not falling. If you think too much maybe you don't get to do as much.
Hey, thanks for the ride. I'm planning on buying a Goldwing very soon. Like you it will be my first bike. I also intend to take a motorcycle safety course. I have been riding my friends goldwing and I love it.
I know what it feels like... I`m a driving instructor, and know exactly what U mean. Beside, I drive a goldwing 1800 with a sidecar, and I drive a LOT. About 20000 miles a year, and our season is only 8 months in Norway.
Ride safe, my fellow Goldwinger, and U will be a 1000 years, at least from what U expirience.
Hey, Nice video! just needs a bit of sound fixing, the bass line is too high!
I´m from Spain but im going soon to be a proud owner of an american yellow goldwing. ( in europe, goldwings are being sold for 34.000€ wich in dollars right now its 51.000$, and the sound system is not that good).
I learned to ride a motorcycle age 45 in the spring, passed the test in July and Got a 1200 Goldwing and camping trailer 4 days later. Its been a steep learning curve but 5 years on and now on an 1800 I don't regret for one second that decision.
PS good music choice, often got that ready to play in the 6 Disc in the bikes trunk.
I saw the first version of your video and I liked it much better. The music sounded better too, the base wasn't overly thumping like this one was. Why don't you repost the original?
Second time I've watched your video. Saw the earlier posing late last year - it was inspirational. I hung up my riding days selling my Honda 360 in 1978. Recently got back into the sport buying with a 2008 GL1800.
Reading earlier comment made me chuckle - I too have dropped my bike on the right side smushing my big toe - Doc says he's impressed it was not broke! Doc is also a HD rider and confessed he's dropped it too. I've since learned to pay better attention in slow speed turns!
Very good story and great video. I too bought a 93 Aspencade as my first bike. Took the Pennsylvania MSF course as well. Unfortunately I crushed my big toe when she tipped over on me at a stop sign. After two months in a cast I purchased a Honda Magna VF750 which I have been learning on. I take out the Goldwing when I'm feeling confident. Love both bikes. Thanks so much for your story.
Coming from a certified bike mechanic and advocate of the training course... You're absolutely insane for choosing the Goldwing as a first bike! Glad it's been good to you, you've obviously got much more skill and patience to learn than most!

Does it have reverse? If so, have you tried it? Liked your video too :)
Going from a Suzuki Burgman 400cc scooter to either a 1200 or 1500 Goldwing.
