Some of the points that Bushell champions as being examples of "Englishness" are not necessarily purley English achievements: the rise of the British Empire, victory in WW2 and the Falklands war. Just remember that many other citizens of the British Isles participated in these historic events. Engalnd is a great country and should not be ashamed to celebrate it as done in Scotland. what is annoying is when events are championed as "English" achievements when in fact they are not.

Christ, is this what it comes to when you give up on Socialism? I'm sure Gary is well meaning but there are biggest issues than getting an English Parliament, a day off for St.George's Day etc. If the union broke up tomorrow and we had our own parliament, it would not change a thing in terms of crime, inequality, the backdoor privisation of the NHS, the curbing of our civil liberties and so on.
