i saw a video here on YT how to make a popoff valve. Its pretty easy to make just need something like a ball bearing or something similar, a spring and a tube with a cap to hold the assembly.

@Australiaroo Search for companies that sell pneumatic parts. Like fittings, pipes, valves, and compressor stuff.

Sometimes it is hard to find the QEV in a store, as some categorize it under valves while others put it in "special" or somewhere near the pneumatic cylinders.

One came from my compressor. You should be able to find it in a shop where they sell spare parts for compressors.

Even een vraagje, ik weet dus wel wat een QEV valve is en wat het doet maa,r een pop-off valve is me nog een beetje onduidelijk. Zoek me er momenteel helemaal kapot naar maar weet dus niet waar ik ze kan vinden.

Een popoff is een veiligheidsventiel dat bij een bepaalde druk lucht naarbuiten laat. Meeste popoffs gaan open bij 8 bar, gooien dan een hoop lucht eruit en gaan rond de 6 bar weer dicht. Sommige zijn verstelbaar.

ik wil er ook 1 hebben maar die dingen zijn voor overdruk en die is vaak hoog.

als die er ook zijn in 4 bar ofzo zou het vet zijn.

Its easy. QEV->T-piece->airfeed+popoff

Attach chamber and barrel as you normally would with a QEV.

Its just a QEV with a T-piece on the pilot side, and connected to that is a popoff safety valve and a constant air feed.

QEV = quick exhaust valve

You can buy it from companies selling pneumatics.

The popoff is a safety valve installed on almost all air compressors and some other pneumatics. You can also buy them separately.

The popoff is there to vent pressure off when the pressure gets above a certain level. As soon as it vents, this pilots the QEV, making the QEV empty the main chamber.

When the main chamber dropped in pressure, the QEV (and popoff) close again, and it all starts all over again with refilling.

Brian the brain (from spudfiles) arranged that barrel for me, usually I just tell him what I need and he gets it for me. If you live near the Netherlands you can always shoot him a PM.

He runs a one-man company to be able to buy pneumatic parts for spudders.

The barrel is 6mm ID, and 1/4" threaded.
