I've met that cop before, he seemed to be a really cool cop but I would never give him my personal info for simply protesting. If he said he would take me to jail or force me in anyway then I would do it under duress and charge him $1000 for personal info he wanted from me. Marijuana should be Schedule 2 or Schedule 3 as a medicine, except I think it's an herb and shouldn't really be scheduled at all.

I don't advocate drug use. I don't think drinking or doing drugs is ever a good idea. However, alcohol is legal in the US, and people die from drinking too much all the time. But marijuana is non-toxic. You can't die from it no matter how much you smoke. So why is it illegal? If we make marijuana illegal, shouldn't we make alcohol illegal too?

@MrJohnnyOldschool I think that the patent shows that the Federal Government has proven marijuana's medicinal effects to be valid, therefor invalidating the Drug Scheduling of marijuana as a schedule 1 drug under the control substances act. Marijuana should be Schedule 2 or Schedule 3 as a medicine, except I think it's an herb and shouldn't really be scheduled at all.
Anyway, we'll see where this goes in Cali.

That loose reference implys that you are "friends" or "buddy's" of which you clearly are NOT!
He was Very unprofessional.

He was an alright guy Im sure, but you're right. The loose reference of implied friendship was really not appropriate.
If he would have not stole my time, from this protest. And if he would have been more respectful of the situation in general. Then, maybe it would have been ok.
The way he approached me was not a friendly engagement. He was a prick when I offered him a flier (before the camera started rolling).

I'm back again to comment and observe this video.
Here is a little factual tidbit of information about me.
I have NEVER had a "blackout" experience while puffing copious amounts of the green. Never. (nor have I had to pop Advil to rid myself of a hangover from being in a haze, which is manageable )
I can not say the same about several experiences with my alcohol consumption.

im with you man. when these police offers get the effects of marijuana confused with alcohol, it shows just how uneducated they are on the subject.
Getting harassed by this cop was kind of a blessing. I was able to give him real facts and maybe he will consider it.

Exactly, he was desperately fishing for a reason to get my identification.
When he found out that I had a camera, and then when he found out I was from a legal medical marijuana state, he changed his tone a lot.
He knew he was wasting time, when he realized that I lived outside his jurisdiction.
You're probably right about the FLIR theory. Wanting to find out where I lived, so that they can stake out my house.

"the court called and said, is this guy in some kind of violation of some sort?" (the best I understood) at least the cop was honest about that. being pressured to find a crime in what wasn't a crime.

honestly for a cop, he was very respectful, and let you know that he was being made to find some kind of crime to get rid of you. I have nothing against this cop, and find him stuck between a rock and a hard place to keep his job, I never thought I'd say that about a cop, he was actually trying to keep you out of trouble. I'm glad you posted this, if I ever have to be harassed by the law, I hope that I get that much respect.

The thing that was most concerning about this cop is the disrespectful way that he approached me. And then when he lied about the 'suspicion" that he was referring to, about how people had to 'walk around you'..
He was really fishing for a reason to get my identification.

maybe I say these things because I'm in a southeastern state and pretty much by now you would have had your head knocked off, be in jail or sneaked up on in the middle of the night and shot. You are fortunate you live where you do.

He came up to me and was starting to be a dick. I offered him a flier and he rudely declined. Then he demanded my identification. He asked, and I asked him why, and he said "because I asked for it".
His mood changed when I said "hunney get the video camera"..

This same police department used excessive force on me 10 years ago. He may have changed his attitude, but he approached me with a big attitude. It may have gotten out of control if my wife wouldn't have pulled out the cop watcher.

ohh I believe you, and yes the camera was a good move. You can remove my comments if you want, It wouldn't bother me, I just thought this one time the officer was mellow and respectful, even told you to walk your signs so he couldn' t find anything wrong, the more good people like you do this, the more the justice system will have to start acting like decent humans again.

I was a little frazzled by the time we got the camera filming. And he got prepared to be filmed.
It was a good opportunity to set the record straight and give this cop some true facts.
And I am glad that you took a peak at it.
I feel like most cops have good intentions, including this one. But they are so anxious to get rid of weed, that they lie.

This is actually very painful to watch. The cop is way out of line and is a bully. We must end prohibition and the harassment of law enforcement.

I understand and argee that marijuana should be legal and enjoyable by the masses. Althou I dont think this cop is really being a dick... Southern Cops are dicks... move to a southern state and try to talk to a cop like that... before you kno it you'd be in the backsit with some herion planted on you. Then you would mose likely "attack" an officer and get a beating... But This could have been alot worse... Your time coulda been in jail, glad he didnt make up a reason to do that...

There is an additional safety measure I take when Im protesting. I have between 1-3 people filming my protests at all times.
If he would have broke the law, he would have been on film, and I would be rich.
Another thing is that in my childhood, I got beat up once real bad by the Provo police. They broke my nose when I was 18 years old.
