  • i dont understand who dislikes this videos.

  • I'm hungry!!!! But I just told my dad I wasn't hungry -_-

  • what sauce was that soba served with ? anyone ?

  • @guru1sj Soba sauce lol it's like a sweet and salty soy sauce.

  • LoL f****** love japan.

  • the slurping is even emphasized the anthony himself although he has a certain appreciation for japanese culture. but i don't think a native japanese person untouched by western table etiquette would even actively notice his/her slurping when eating.

  • great fresh food. laughs. i thought the traditional japanese zither music gave soul to this show

  • @SpartanSoldier76 this "savage" slurping is a sign of respect to the creator the meal, a sign that you are enjoying the food. Additionally, just as Tony said, adding air to the taste profile enhances the flavor significantly. Just ask some expert wine drinkers /watch?v=AK3380IZFlA 5:05 about their savage drinking ways.

  • @SpartanSoldier76 only savages would drop bombs on little kids.

  • @SpartanSoldier76 dude fuck off u racist prick

  • Not surprising that he wants to drink hanging around with these 2 stiffs!

  • I Love Asian Food, I admire their cooking and Ingridients, but with Anthony Bourdain in the show makes look great the food and the best, he has the best on earth, I love his show(s), thank you for these one I love Travel Channel, you rock too \m/

  • chicken skin? chicken liver? chicken tongue? pork belly? they're just as worse as butter. Anthony should take his words back about Paula..you're both going to fat land hell lol

  • japanese steve jobs san 4:50

  • I would get raped at least five times if I could have his job.

  • There is something soulful about Japanese traditions. Traditions which you know they are that way because they are sooo right. To the point it's your reaction is not just "you like" but "you love".

  • watching bourdain in Japan makes me so happy for some reason

  • this is the first time i've seen anthony being overly courteous with the host(s)! lol nice to see. thanks for the uploads!

  • "You guys drinking or are you working later? Because I'm having more sake" Hahaha classic Bourdain

  • this guy knows how to enjoy life!

  • Utterly awesome for Anthony to showcase the Ainu and honestly portray their treatment and situation.Kudos to you for posting this too!Wonderful episode!

  • thx kumquatsta, loyal subber!

  • @trumpetsoul thanks for the sub and comment

  • That Ainu man looks kind of like my grandma. Could it be that one of my ancestors is Ainu? I'm 100% Korean, though.

  • @ji94552 It maybe true. The Ainu's traveled as far as the south to Okinawa. So fact is the Korean, Japanese, Okinawan's are one. Celebration is in order! Aloha!

  • 4:12 is that.....blockhead....i love anthony bourdain even more now

  • This show should just be called "Anthony Bourdain's Life is Better than Yours"

  • Looks good lol soba

  • I was afraid they were going to gloss over the treatment of the Ainu and I'm glad they didn't. And on a lighter note... DAMN all that food looks good!

  • tomoki is cute

  • What song is playing at 6:03?

Thanks for kumquatsta for the show

  • That Soba Chef Master looks like Steve Jobs

  • @drewman415 Yeah, especialy the eyes. Job's biological father is syrian that is where he gets his brown eyes from i guess.

  • OMG, I want his job. lol

I'm hungry for miso ramen, soba and yakitori. I miss hot bath too. Hokkaido is the place to eat fresh seafood

  • Comment removed

  • @alfredpjp ditto

  • @alfredpjp ya looks...

  • omg XD " as long as they are grilled by someone else" omg XD just like me i dont like eating what i cook XD

  • As a Sappro born person, these video makes me easy to describe how great Hokkaido is.

And also how proud I was born there and grew up.

I always visit this lovely place.

  • tony REALLY likes that sweater he got in austria. he has it on a LOT this season lol.

  • I want to retire doing what Tony does >.<

  • that tomoki guy, is incredibly handsome..........i cant stop staring at him.

  • I think I came just watching that soba being formed, rolled, and cut.

  • @Zephilindrum Me too...(:

  • Tony always seems happiest when he's in Japan or Vietnam..

  • @hohobal Who wouldn´t be happy being in Asia? Incredible Countries, Incredible People, Insane Food.....perfect!

  • Awww... Im always watching this when im hungry! But this show is just amazing!!

  • anyone know what kind of glasses that soba master is rocking?

  • just came back from skiing. miss it already.

  • I've read that Japanese families even hire investigators to make sure their daughters are not marrying an Ainu. True?

  • @sharkl11 Hard to believe, but most likely...

  • @sharkl11 Nah... Not unless they're like royalty or something!!

  • I've eaten at that soba restaurant before and it was AMAZING!!!! The environment was really pretty too. The soba was so tasty with just the right about of bite, I literally have dreams about it. I had the soba served cold but with a hot dipping sauce that's made with duck. YUM.

  • beautiful noodle

  • Wow, it's hard to believe how much of the Ainu's culture has been erased. Not only are they no longer allowed to hunt or fish, they've been assimilated to the point where they've lost their own language. At least they still have their food. Which looks very tasty.

  • @Sarara14 Sad but true. Many hundred years later the Ainu's also may have traveled to Okinawa in search of better life and so we Okinawan's very much look like the Ainu's. The Okinawan's also taken over by mainland Japan in the later and also look downed upon. Similar? Yes. We still got the food and the language is that still alive even in Hawaii. Peace!

  • @tenchimouse The Ainu really went to Okinawa? Wow, now the Lullabies of the Lost episode of Samurai Champloo makes more sense.

  • @Sarara14 The Ainu "might" have traveled to Okinawa but this I still believe they have. The Okinawan's and the Ainu's are direct descendants of the Jomon People of South East Asia, Hunters, gatherers and fishermen. So this why we have similar features.

  • I just absolutely love watching noodles being made. Its just so memorizing.

  • Wow, I love this show because they're always playing good tunes like the Blockhead track @ 03:30 It's funny, it's like they're taking tunes from the same pandora radio stations that I listen to ha ha. I really miss Japan. Thanks for posting this episode!

  • Is this the most recent episode?

  • The Soba chef must be nervous while Anthony was watching at whole process.

  • the show is getting better and better, more interesting, more of good restaurants :) I guess because of Tony

  • When I was in the states I watched this show religiously, but when I moved to Thailand I stopped.....thank god for youtube and thank god for you man after watching this eps. I am back and loving it more than ever!

  • @Inchai007 that's great to hear. glad to help.

  • @Inchai007 Ha I just moved to Thailand from NZ and I'm doing the same thing :)

  • chicken skin looks good, pork skin is good too

  • is it just me or is that soba noodle shop couple really good looking?

  • Can anyone ID the track that starts 3:15? The melody that comes in after the initial scratching is divine...

  • Comment removed

  • what kind of sauce are they using to dip?

  • Anybody knows what is the music being played at the background in 7:49 onwards. It,s so surreal.
