I run Windows 7 in VM, and Linux is my main OS... I also run PC-BSD ...

I can search for a solution using a Linux Live CD...

Well because WUBI is easier to install and un-install and you don't have to repartition your hard drive... and it does a full install so when you reboot you can select it all a boot option... and because it's better for new people that want to try a full install of Linux Ubuntu, but are not sure if they would like it...

Or they could use a Linux Mint live CD... or any of the 1,000's of Linux distro ... or they could us a VHD ...

No, It's not "all technology". Operating Systems are code, they tell your hardware what to do, and both Os'es is a bit of a misnomer. There are lots of Operating Systems. AIX, HPUX, Linux, OSX, Windows, MikeOS the list goes on and on.

It's actually Windows v. Mac OS v. GNU / Linux.

Do not confuse PC with Windows, my PC runs GNU/Linux. This one dude's Mac runs GNU/Linux too.

Mac OS X and Linux are both POSIX operating systems. While I prefer Linux, I'd also like to have a Mac as well. Though they're very overpriced. And don't give me that "Macs have state of the art hardware" crap either. And of course you grew up with technology. Technology has been around before you were even thought of. The Linux community is very big and more people are switching all the time. Although there's a lack of software in some areas.
