  • i have a pug and a tiny dog . i can't do this trick!

  • My dog was able to learn this in less than 20 minutes with this method!! Thanks! I really like how he focuses on truly communicating with the dog.

  • I was LOL'ing at the end xD

  • dog looks pissed at the end lol

  • @reptaboy123 My shepherds make the same face when I tell them to wait for anything.

  • Can you PLEASE make a video about 'how to teach your dog how to skateboard'.. please LIKE so TAB289 can see this.

  • What age do u recommend a dog to be before teaching this trick? My gsd is only 2 1/2 months and he knows(sit, down, stay,go home(his cage),leave it,bark on command,up,wait, and fetch.)

  • i tried this on my malti-shihzu and it accidentally went up his nose....never again....

  • Cool!!

  • is this possible to do with a Rottweiler too?

  • Skinner¡¡¡¡

  • how old does your dog need to be to learn this trick?

  • @briannay1995 there's no need to be old... it doesn't matter.... as long as you have already teached your dog some simple tricks and PERFECT obedience... THEN you can train advanced tricks like this one :))

  • so adorable

  • This is a good method. It teaches the foundation of looking to the handler for an "ok" to get the treat. Nothing in life is free, right?

  • nice doggy.

  • Lol me and my friend tried to teach my friends pug to do this.

  • You have the most gorgeous german shepherd!

  • Thank you. Thats very insightful.

  • Thank you. Thats very insightful.

  • lol @ 3:45!

  • Sadly, my dog has a flat face.

  • that is so cool! I'm gonna try that on my dog!

  • oh god!! ur patience.. must say she is very adorable with all those treats all over her face!!

  • Great video. I taught this in no time to Fly just by asking "stay". And when I say "stay", she just lets me do anything I want so I just had to put the sausage on her nose. Later, I taught her to catch it, I suppose you did that too.

Thanks for all your great videos !

  • 3:49 like a shark :D

  • how old is she?She seems to know a lot of thricks!!!

  • too bad you cant do that for a pug LOL!

  • Thanks for the advise. I love that u go in detail and u explain how to do it.love the videos keed them coming. Plzz :-)

  • I really have enjoyed your videos and they have been really helpful. I can only get as far as getting my dog to "leave it" and look away or make eye contact with me with the treat close to his mouth. If I try to put it over his nose he always looks away and I can't get it positioned over his snout. If I try to hold his snout with my other hand and hold the treat over he freaks. HELP!

  • my dogs nose is flat what do i do then?

  • i love your dog!!!

  • :) I just got past having my hand open and she'd leave it alone. I'm still working on having her look up at ME. Not at the ground.

  • nice Solea! 03:41

    i love this video!

  • Love this!! I taught my poodle this but strangely enough my German shepherd won't learn this. I've got to keep trying!!!

  • I actually tried training this to my dog first time today, without seeing ur video. Thx for great tips. Hope i get it done.

  • This is good. I got my dog to balance the treat from some seconds, but how do you get them to catch it?

  • My dog is.....omg...............gosh how to make a dog in walking....my dogis with the legs and to sit where I stand in walking ://// pleas harry up

  • What type of treats do you use? They look delicious!

  • Hi tab i watched all your videos and i loved them all but im having trouble with the heel command because i dont know which word to use because you use turn and circle so which word do i use btw i have a german sheperd too and solea is amazing

  • Nose trick!!

Watch me and my dog do other versions of this trick here : youtube.com/watch?v=PcisPX5SexE

  • Hi! My puppy's father is a lagotto. This means he have a very short nose. So i have a problem to this trick... Can you give me a tip about this? Thanks for all of your videos they have been very helpful:)

  • Amazing!! Thank you for this! Great job!!

  • you're great :)

  • YOU ARE A GENIUS TRAINER! OMG, I AM PUTTING THIS VIDEO ON LOOP SO MY DOG WILL BE AS AWESOME AS YOURS!

  • Wow your dog is so smart its so crazy.... Shes a closet dog genious

  • My dog's getting frustrated and she keeps shaking her head and scratching at her face to get the treat off. she usually learns things really fast, what should i do?

  • Love it. The end made me laugh so much with the ball balancing ... Hahaha awww.

  • First of all I want to say that you and your dog are both awesome. The part where it cuts to the dog with about 6 treats on his head was one of the funniest things i've ever seen I think, and it's also really good of you to respond to all the viewer comments. Keep it up man, that dog is lucky to have you.

  • VEERRY GOOD!!!!!! NICE

  • if your dog tries to remove the treat from its nose and all else fails GENTLY pplace your hand anto the dogs head not FORCING the dog to do anything thenwhen you get the treat on u might try useing STAY if it has learned it... hope i was helpful!

  • i like your training videos than another channel. makes more sense and less unwanted gibber jabber.. i have one question though, why do most time throw the treats on the floor? any reason?

  • 2 users could not afford to own a dog.

  • Ohh, woww. I will try it for sure! :)

  • thanks for the tips, I just trained my dog to balance things on his nose. The video is in my channel!

  • at what age should I begin training? I just got a shepherd/chow mix and was told he is 7 weeks old. We have 2 older pomeranians in the house and 4 teenage children so there is alot going on around him and several different people tryin to tell him "no" or "stop" in all different ways. I am searching for the best program and technique that will work for all of us to be consistent. I am going to try the clicker method. Right now our main concern is the biting. he chews on everything/everyone!

  • I love her silly face at the end of the video!

What a great training vid, and an even better trainer/trainee team. Love your videos!!

  • 3:40 wtf?

  • What kind of dog is she?

  • @TwistyLove7797 She is a german shepherd hope I was useful!

  • @DoggieCatRabbit Thanks!

  • what if the dog looks down everytime u put a treat on his nose i have try that for 2 weeks and he still looks to the ground he knows the leave it command but he wont stop looking at the ground so it will fall off and he can get it but im gonna try what u showed

  • what about when you say she can have it, then she kinda tosses it up in the air and catches it? or is that more of a natural thing?

  • This guy should have 10x more views.. he's is awesome. Going to try to teach this to my husky now.. wish me luck!.

  • @KonnichiwaX im also gonna teach my huskie this and think goodness he already knows the leave it command but its really easy to do good luck my huskie will look to the ground and let it fall off lol

  • @tennesseewalkers14 Argh mine too. First he will realize he will not get the treat, so he looks at the ground. also he dosn't like me to hold his chin, so he can balance it.. lol

  • @KonnichiwaX same i tryed it today no luck he kept trying to look down and wont stop lol i been working on the limp trick not going to good

  • your dog is really cool i watch alot of your videos and they are all really cool thanks for making this video it helped me alot

  • Right now, I've got my 8 month up to leaving the treat when between two fingers, with eye contact. At first, he would get flustered and walk away, so I had to do it in small steps, short sessions. Since my dog is a maltese x shih tzu, his nose is a lot smaller. XD I wonder if he'll ever be able to balance a ball on his nose hahahaha.

I must have watched this video at least 10 times over the past couple of months.

  • I love your videos! this trick is next on my list for Daisy :o))

  • 3:41-3:47 HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

  • aww so cute!!

  • Aww thats so cute! I laughed out loud at 3:40 <3

  • how do you get a dog to get the treats in command? like in the beginning of your video??

    awesome video btw.. =)

  • thank you so much. i went thrugh the steps in this video in the speed of it and my amazing blue heeler got it right out of the gate. i cant thank you enough for this tutorial.

  • Hi... I'm only a 13 year old girl, but i tried to train my dog that trick. She only wanted to have the treat in the beginning, but after a few minutes she nearly didnt care about the treat untill i told her to take it, and i said ja! (i'm from norway, so "ja" means yes) Then, when i had done the steps, i tried to get her to not move... and after a while she was sitting still and just watched me put the treat on her nose :D Then i said yes, and she shaked to get it down, and she ate it :D Tnx!

  • Hi Tab, awesome vid, Solea is such a cutie & so amazing ... btw this is a trick I'm working on with Max right now :)

    Angelika & family

  • awesome been tryin to teach my lab this and he doesnt let me put it on his nose, but the restrain part is done... nice tips ... awesome...your dog, had one german sheperd and love and i cried like a little girl when he past away...

  • My dog dosen't make contact and also, she keeps rising her head when i put the treat on her snout! Please help, this is getting frustrating!!!

  • my dog keeps looking away from me instead of eye contact, what do i do?

  • @tab289, pls answer this one.

Iv come to the step where u put one of your hand beneath Solea's mouth, and help her balance the treat on the nose, but when i try this with my dog (9mo lab pup), he would not like it and would growl and try to attack me. :( What can I do? Where am I doing a mistake?

  • @rahu0099 you should first teach him/her to love being touched beneath him/her's mouth before teaching this trick. Do some handling exercise with your dog and in no time you will have a dog who loves being touched.

  • My dog would shake/move his head. so cannot balance the treat. what do i do?

  • @rahu0099 I would try slowing it down. There's a lot of small steps in this video, it could be that you're moving through them too fast. Get your dog very comfortable with one little thing before asking for more. All the best!

  • @tab289 my dog has the same issue (moving his head away) we will get to the point where he wont take the treat from our hands even while we are moving our hands but once we try to place it on his nose he keeps moving his head away or just looks around. He's been at this for a while now and we cant seem to get past that step. any other suggestions for this kind of problem?

  • @tab289 i know that there is alot of small baby type steps in this but i took them as slow as it could go...... my dog is a fast learner but for some reason she moves her head time and time again when i get to the last step... she cannot keep her head still or balance... what do i do now... *frustrated* :(

  • this trick is worthles

  • Cool! Can't wait to teach my Dog this tricks :) Thankz..

  • 3:42 I burst out laughing. What treats are you using?

  • Great video. Great instructions. I'd also like to see you teach her to flip it (or drop it) and catch it.

  • that's just.. wow.. amazing! why so little views? this is brilliant!

  • Lol when I heard the title I thought they were gonna balance there whole body on there nose like a handstand except for nose lol

  • Hello!First of all, thank you for the videos! They are really helpful! I've teached my little Golden Retriever to play tug, and she loves it and lets go when I tell to! My doubt is the flowing: Is it alright for me two have two ropes (with different colors) being one of them, the special toy to play tug and the other a toy for her to play on her own?the reason I'm asking that is because she likes to chew on any item that looks "stringy"(lol), and I want to motivate her not to with a toy. Thanks =)

  • Hi! Your videos are just amazing. I've been having difficulty teaching my girl Summer to retrieve things, and i'm planning to get a clicker and try your methods. She can do basic stuff like offer her paws, high five and target touching / kissing me on the cheek. She can also balance a treat on her nose, but any idea how we can get her to flip it up and catch her and eat it? Would be great! Thanks!

  • Solea is such as sweetie! She gets the same look in her eyes as Jessie when she's being patient. Lucy, however, needs abit of work ons elf control around food. We will work our way up to to this one. Right now we are starting with staying away from my open hand and waiting until I give the release cue to eat her dish. She's is getting there, in little stpes, of course! LOL!

  • @supernaturalbc2009 It's always interesting to see how different dogs have such unique tendencies. Food is definitely a big distraction for Solea as well!

  • cute

  • Very Impressive!!!!! You have a beautiful Dog.

    Thanks for sharing!!!!

  • I used to watch you from my old channel, & have had a question for quite some time. As great as food rewards are, they are getting a little expensive for me at the moment, & I've had a goal to not feed my dog human food to keep begging at minimum; so I've been wondering how to 'wean' a dog from food based learning to playing with toys as a reward like you do with Solea?

  • @TesseriShira I rarely use expensive or store bought treats with Solea. I would say 80% of the time I just use her kibble. Getting the dog interested in toys is about showing them how fun they are to you. Often times, acting silly and exaggerating our excitement goes a long way in communicating this message.

  • Those last shots of Solea balancing everything gave me a good laugh :3

  • thanks now i know!

  • You are the best Youtuber .. I love all of your videos , keep up with the good work ..

1 question when is the best time to train my german sheperd , i have a 2 months old puppy and he is not very focused, and its hard to get eye contact ..

  • You are the best Youtuber .. I love all of your videos , keep up with the good work ..

1 question when is the best time to train my german sheperd , i have a 2 months old puppy and he is not very focused, and its hard to get eye contact ..

  • @AlexFashionPolice ! A good time (if you're using food) is around mealtimes when the puppy is hungry and relatively more responsive to food. The more you teach him the better and more focused he will learn to be.

  • awwwwwwww nice video one again.. 5 star... awww... ur dog is sooo beautiful!

  • Tab289, great stuff. Solea is a beauty. Ever worked with deaf dogs? And... how do you work with other people's dogs as a trainer without the relationship that you obviously have with your own dog...is it disappointing since you don't have the same amount of time/interest, or is it cool just to train the people?

  • @TheSazibean Good question. Having a connection with a dog is a BIG part of training, but working with different dogs allows us to perfect our technique. Relatively minor inconsistencies can make a big difference when I'm working with a dog who is not used to me. I enjoy both very much and have learned a great deal from every dog I have worked with, so it is never disappointing!

  • This is a great video!

  • Hi, Tab289! I have a question reguarding your videos. When I reward my dog after he did an action Im trying to reenforce, or when teaching him anything , really ,do I give my dog the treat in my hand or do I just put the treat on the floor? Thanks!

  • @secretadmierer It depends, sometimes I like to feed from my hand, and other times I'll toss it on the floor. However, so long as the timing of the marker is correct - it shouldn't make a big difference.

  • AWESOME video Tab and Solea!!! Solea you are sooo precious! : ) Loved how she sat there so still while she had a row of treats lined up her nose to the top of her head : )

    Fantastic trick! 5*s and a favorite : )

  • @JakeVomRivergreen Thanks! I was surprised we got that on the first take.

  • awesome!

  • awesome :) !!

  • I LOVE her face at the end when she is balancing the ball! :-D

This looks like a good way to teach my dog. She is only part way there and I think this method may work for her better.

  • You have one amazing dog.

  • Thats amazing lol

  • I admire your work. With your love of animals, I hope you are able to eventually encourage other animal lovers to focus on more dignified goals fitting of dogs' limited lives and perfect spirits. Best of luck with your celebrity aspirations.

  • @bladeimm Thank you for your kind words.

  • man my dog wont listen he stares at me then at my hand, but he uses beg, and then he slaps my hand with his paws, i know I must have patience, but man its hard

  • I like all the peanut butter drops all the way up her nose. Cute!

  • Great video! :) I love it.

  • Her teeth at the end are so cute!

  • @MaxD3 haha that's the face she makes whenever she's concentrating on something :)

  • It's so good to see you guys working together.

  • This will be a fun one to work with my pups. I can see the younger one, especially, going cross-eyed looking at that treat to make sure it doesn't go away! What kind of treats were those that looked like giant candy chips?

  • @azmauigirl I don't remember the name, but they were store bought dog treats that somebody got for me. The flat-bottom made it easier to balance them though.

  • how about now teach her to flip it in the air and catch it

  • @topdoggirl12510 Most dogs will do it by themselves once encouraged to "get it". A release word like "okay" works well too.

  • lovely video! thanks!
