They copied each other:

Games workshop commissioned Blizzard to make Warhammer and Warhamer 40K PC games. GW didn't like what Blizz produced and went with another company. Blizzard then created Warcraft and Starcraft (rip offs of warhammer & 40k.)

However, Games workshop has gotten their revenge buy subsequently stealing ideas from WoW to use in WaR. However, in the ancient Chicken vs. Egg debate: Games Workshop, Warhammer and Warhammer 40k came FIRST.

Great question. I enjoy them becuase I've never been a healer before. In Warcraft my mains were a warrior tank and a BM hunter so the roles are very different. I think the shaman will have a lot of value at level 40. At the moment though, if you're ganged up on you're dead, quick. However, if you have a good raid group the tanks should create a barrier and you stand at the back. Good thing with Warhammer is you can't run through players in PVP, adds a new dimension. I do enjoy the shammy though.

Yes, there is a monthly subscription.

It's not too hard to get hold of, with a mix of quest rewards and selling your items you should be able to get it without any problem. It's the same as wow though, when it's your first character it's always hard to make gold at first, but then it flows. I'd say the in-game currency is the same as wow with regard to how you accumulate it etc...

I'll certainly be making more, it's nice to know that people are enjoying them! Good luck with your shaman as well. Mine is starting to become really interesting now, the AOE heal is a big help when doing public quests, healing lots of party members at once really pushes you up the ranks so you normally get some nice loot.
