Y would dey compare a 2nd Gen Shogun from the 90s when there already on 4th gens against the newest Discovery?! I own a 3rd gen Shogun/Montero & have been through many spots where my friends new Lr4s & Range Rovers got stuck attempting to cross while i was riding on 22" wheels on low pro tires! So yea, Shogun wins hands down.

Bloody hell, if you're going to do vehicle comparisons, at least find someone who can drive them. Might also help if you compared two similar capability vehicles - these two are not in the same league. The Pajero (as we call them in Australia) will never get near a Disco off road.

@4007adam When you've owned or at least driven both of them, let us know. Obviously you haven't been in both offroad or you'd know. The Pajero, or Shogun as you call it, will never get near a Discovery 3 offroad. They really are worlds apart in their abilities. Anyone at all who knows anything about 4 wheel drives would be well aware of this.
