There was a housing bubble before the Great Depression too. It was with land in Florida but there was a hurricane and that made land value drop. I think thats what the housing crisis is. There are many factors; but one of the main issues regarding this crisis is that companies and retailers became overly dependent upon the outrageous spending habits that so many of us (the world) partook in. In my opinion, though, the root issue of all our societies' (and the world's) current woes is overpopulation (it'd take too long to elaborate). Unfortunately, this is quite an opportunity for those with massive amounts of financial flexibility to gain even more. Middle-class America is dead.

As I write this, it's the middle of 2009. I won't discount the risk of even more serious disruptions in our finances and social environment than we've seen already, but it's clear that, so far, some of these forecasts aren't panning out. Gold isn't approaching $2,000 yet, the Dow went up starting around February rather than down, & there are no riots on American streets. Yes, there are some tragic realities right now, but it's yet to resemble the end of American society. We shall see.

I believe this is factually correct. For example, there is ample proof that artificial negative pressure exerted on the US economic and monetary systems will continue unabated, until confidence in the system is lost. This does not necessarily have to lead to civil unrest, that actuality is a factor of all participants. As the matrix unravels, the choices each individual makes under pressure will ascertain their ability to survive in the "real world."

There was a housing bubble before the Great Depression too. It was with land in Florida but there was a hurricane and that made land value drop. I think thats what the housing crisis is. Only its like a tsunami and the water pulls from the beach before the waves hit. We're about to get hit with a really large wave.

There are many factors; but one of the main issues regarding this crisis is that companies and retailers became overly dependent upon the outrageous spending habits that so many of us (the world) partook in. In my opinion, though, the root issue of all our societies' (and the world's) current woes is overpopulation (it'd take too long to elaborate). Unfortunately, this is quite an opportunity for those with massive amounts of financial flexibility to gain even more. Middle-class America is dead.

I used to think that foreign stocks, etc. was the answer, but I am starting to believe there is no safe haven except for the basics: food, shelter and security. I really don't know how this will play out, but with countries like the US, Russia, Isreal, Pakistan, India, Iran, China etc. getting desparate, I fear the only equalizer will be war.

the market went up on more TARP bailout news. how many times has this happened and then a crash follows? While Real indicators things like falling housing prices, falling consumer confidence, and horrendous retail sales are ignored. This Market can only stay like it is for so long, just like before september.

The government controlled camps are already up and working. But contrary to what commenteers on this channel try to propagandize, these camps are not made to round up every US citizens but only US citizens who have been tossed out of the bowl in the current rocking situation.
People who are gathered in these camps are what US citizens are used to calling loosers, low lifes etc...
The average US Joe is going to cruise through this "crisis" and the very idea for camps for them is ludicrous.
