I must say I'm not really liking what I see w/all this unreal like make-up on Actor Johnny Depp protraying the legendary Vampire Barnabas Collins but then again...'the final project is not complete. So "please" stay true to the guidelines to the original Classic DARK SHADOWS for it's nothing cheesy about it. It's full on Gothic-Chill Suspense Mystery in it's truest form. And the talented legendary Actors (Male & Female) that brought those Roles to Life..'please stay true to their characters.
This barnabas looks stupid compared to the original Barnabas Collins. The original looked human and fooled everyone around. Suspicions did arise but he was able to talk his way out of them. This Depp look is a dead(pardon the pun) giveaway that hes not a normal person.

Well... that's... not what I was expecting. Barnabas should look creepy, but still manage to look normal enough. But then, Tim Burton IS directing this film. I'll hold out until I see some official pictures or a trailer hopefully soon.

This looks horrible, ive watched every episode of the original Dark Shadows and the Revival sereis and this is a complete disgrace. I suppose next they will announce Barnabas is now a gay vampire.
I trust that the movie will portray Barnabas along the spirit of his original character. Being another of the generation to run home from school to watch the original series, we all have a certain reverence for the character of Barnabas. One of the main fascinations for Barnabas arises from his being a true human underneath the monster, and indeed his evolution in Dark Shadows brings him from a monster unleashed to a sympathetic protagonist.

Anyway Tim did very good movies too,like Edward Scissorhand,Corpse Bride, and Sleeping Hollow..I love that horror movie,for me one of the best,I loved it because it was so dark,I loved the script,the cast and Johnny is so sexy and funny as Ichabod Crane! And about Alice in wonderland..I think it needed a good SCRIPT,only that,(very important),and about the visual..it was good and Johnny so sweet.Well and now I'll suport Tim in this one ,because he is a good director.. crazy,but good;good luck!

I was so looking forward to this remake but, now they have Barnabas Collins looking like a clown and I'm supposed to be excited...I mean seriously Jonathan Frid's Barnabas never wore THAT much makeup. But leave it to Burton to have Johnny wearing more makeup than any of his female costars combined...I'm just saying how are we supposed to get out of this damn Twilight/daytime walking, sparkling vampire era crap with THIS! I'm still giving it a chance but this is very disappointing to me.

Well... that's... not what I was expecting. Barnabas should look creepy, but still manage to look normal enough. But then, Tim Burton IS directing this film. I'll hold out until I see some official pictures or a trailer hopefully soon.

They should just release the original "Dark Shadows" movies on DVD- "House of Dark Shadows" and "Night of Dark Shadows", at least those movies featured the same cast as the show, and didn't stray far from the characters look like this movie seems to be doing with Barnabas Collins!!

I trust that the movie will portray Barnabas along the spirit of his original character. Being another of the generation to run home from school to watch the original series, we all have a certain reverence for the character of Barnabas. One of the main fascinations for Barnabas arises from his being a true human underneath the monster, and indeed his evolution in Dark Shadows brings him from a monster unleashed to a sympathetic protagonist.

This is very disappointing, I was hoping Depp would produce a dangerous, sexy, but poetic vampire instead we have Michael Jackon-The Joker-Mad Hatter role into one. No one wants to see a silly vampire comedy. This movie will be the biggest flop that Depp, Burton will wish they stayed close to the classic take on Dark Shadows.
