I am fed up with Obama! God has Cenk Ugar gone soft. I say let Ginrich win. You do realize that the Republicans aren't the only ones who can filbuster! Besides with Obama gone maybe Democrats would get some spine. But then again we had Nancy Pelosi running the House two years before Obama yet she did not use the House's power of the purse strings to end the Wars.
Obama is a WIMP! Think what will happen if we have four more years? How much of the New Deal will remain if he stays in office?
@kinghumanity I know that thinking seems correct, but it is also the same thinking us progressives have been following for decades and look what it has got us. You managed to name two progressives in the Senate and one of those progressives isn't even reliable supporting Bowles/Simpson. It sounds counter-intuitive, but I guarantee if the sleeping masses smell what the Republicans are actually shovelling we will get more true progressives. Most people don't smell it cuz DINOs are covering it up
Also I would like to point out where Ron Paul is not perfect he is more American than any other candidate he is the one fighting for the rights that America was made on where as i can accept people saying his ideas are wrong he is returning America to the constitution to vote against it is saying America is no longer America which is fine a nation has the right to change.
Fuck all of u pathetic Ron Paul zombies! I am going to vote Gingrich or Romney or even obama. Not only he can care Less about Iran, but he is going to get rid of education futhering the income gap of rich folks and middle class. So go to hell Ron.
@Nurali20010 you idiot, he just wants to give responsibility back to the states, just like the constitution intended it, so that education will become competitive again, improving the chances of everyone getting better education, which is the opposite of what is happening right now. the federal department of education is ineffective and only works in small countries where the bureaucracy is limited by the fact that the population is small (sweden for example). the united states are way too big.
@schlafanzyk Ok good someone who is talking a degree of sense! see i am currently torn on this one i think i support Ron Paul well i support him over the republican rabble and Obama by a mile I don't 100% buy into the fact America is too large to follow the Scandinavian / Japanese model if it was done correctly but if that is the case how will America ever catch up to a superior system or does being larger hamper it to a point it will never be on par?
@OriginalCliche1 I think that "if done correctly" is the issue. I feel almost completely the same about your points and I have my disagreements with ron paul as well, but I honestly believe that leaving education to the states could work even better than a scandinavian model, because it allows states to freely develop the most effective individual system for their citizens forcing other states to adapt to demand, because the US are so incredibly diverse from coast to coast.
@schlafanzyk :) it is nice to have a friendly back and forth instead of shouting and insults but i will certainly say this unless the US get's a serious third party in the race Ron Paul is the only choice to not have the country run into the ground best of luck to you my friend and from across the pond i have my fingers crossed for you guys!
@OriginalCliche1 same here, we need the best ideas from all sides of the isle and across the lake as well as all ends of the political spectrum to defend our liberties from corporatist/tyrannical governments. unfortunately, the banks have a gun to our head, which might kill even honest political efforts. the good news is that the gun might be empty or the bullet could turn out to be a dud and there already is a growing third-party, I think its called the "the justice party"
@schlafanzyk Question for you: Don't the states already do that? I mean, i live in PA, and our education system or "policies" are different than California or even Texas. What do you think?
@Stingerbillion to some degree they do but they are very limited in their creativity to come up with for example new school concepts that keep up with the endless amount of information that kids are used to these days. instead we keep them locked in classrooms with books, forcing them to learn the boring way as if we are still in the 1950s. in this day and age, you dont have to be taught everything. you have to be taught how to teach yourself to learn about things you wanna know.
If you guys expect things to change so fast when Obama is gone in 2012 then you're deluded as it will take a long time for your economy to recover, until the U.S is completely back on his feet. What happens in 2013 and 2014 etc things aren't what you expected then what??
Alot of the Republicans during Bush era are still in the party and what if the right-wing of the party goes against Ron on certain issues and it is strange how biased the media has been against him. Good luck US Citizens :)
WARNING- to the big banks and the fed reserve- we the american people are taking our gov't back, we will NOT vote in another president that is owned and controled by you. Ron Paul will be president, and you are not his Master
ron is too old, romney is a dumb ass, perryis too christian, newt is just a fat fucking liar, santorum is kind of mexicaney. i want someone that isnt totally right-wing, doesnt lie and doesnt have a weird fucking name.
@100Lavender out of that list "too old", honest and at least somewhat wise still sounds better than obama. also with ideals that strong he is much less likely to be corrupted at that age
@surrealnumber Ron Paul isn't evil, but politically and socially, he's as backward as his Republican counterparts. No thanks, I'd rather live in 2011 than some ideologically naive Randian wasteland.
@UserAccountDenied first of all those washington dem betrayed you i'm a liberal that NEVER enacted policy that i like. obama is a moderate republican so don't blame me blame the system.
1. 1998 Brooksley Born ( white woman ) wanted to regulate the subprime mortages. She was Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in America.
2. 5 Jews defeated her : Alan Greenspan. Robert Rubin, Lawrence Summers, Arthur Levitt & Timothy Geithner ( appointed Obama's Treasury Secretary )
3. In 2008 these subprime mortgages exploded & thousand of Americans were homeless.
Obama is a slick CON-MAN with alotta rich people behind him who have covered his illicit past- He NEVER misses an opportunity for the TV spotlight because his likeability covers his CRIMINAL past and people ignore his multiple SSN's and the FORGED birth certificate- EVERY word from his mouth is a LIE- The most secretive of ALL presidents- Every part of his past has been hidden or destroyed- he even surrendered his law license to avoid investigation- OBAMA IS THE BIGGEST FRAUD OF ALL TIME-
3. I just released my long form birth certificate-
Which one is the LIE of the century? Ask Alan Keyes or Pastor James David Manning-
They R educated decent black men who will loudly state- OBAMA IS A FRAUD-
Keyes & Manning both refuse to call him president and Pastor Manning is shocked at his brazen audacity to FORGE a birth certificate and then put it on COFFEE-CUPS & T-SHIRTS for Democratic fundraisers-
At least obasterd was telling the truth about himself and his politricks friends. And if having to choose between the lesser of two evils, your still choosing evil! Am i the only that have a foride free thinking brain?
Thatls the thing, personally, I am all for Obama, he is one of the few politicians i actually respect (total number is about three, and two are already dead) but i know alot of you don't like him very much for whatever reason, but you have to admit everyone else is just so pathetic or ludicrous.
Obama is projecting. Blaming everyone for not taking action, claiming no one else will have conversation. Use those executive powers for some good then!
"Saying the right things" ........you americans gonna believe this again? That said I have little control up here in Canada myself. Our government isn't really mine either. One of these days....
1. 1998 Brooksley Born ( white woman ) wanted to regulate the subprime mortages.
@rawrlor This is the same progressive argument that I've heard a thousand times. That if the government doesn't come in and rescues everybody there will be dead corpses on every street, noone will have medical care, the financial system will crash and so on and so on. But the fact of the matter is that 99% of the problems we have today are caused by too much government, and expanding government and giving it more regulatory power will just increase lobbying. We need to make government small.
"don't judge me against the Almighty, judge me against the alternative" - that's a beautiful thing Obama - totally :) Newt's a fruit. Funny thing, Newt is beating Romney by 17 points in the polls, but 80% of the people pulling for Newt over Romney said they still wouldn't vote for him - BAHAHA - now what the hell does that tell you? Obama has my full support - I'm not a big fan of campaigning, lobbyists, et al, but I AM DONATING MY ASS OFF TO OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN.
@Raelsatu Also a fetus is called a fetus for a reason it isn't a kid. If it can't think or survive outside it's host then it's a fetus and stopping it from being a child is biological term limits. There is no way in fuck I'm going to perpetuate a rapist genes mixing them with mine. /watch?v=2Z9XTmQ5e4s in case you can't find the other post.
@Raelsatu Not if you're female and /watch?v=2Z9XTmQ5e4s tell me what would do if it was your body? This is something that no country has a right to regulate because your own body is the only thing you own 100% outright and it's yours.
If Newt Gingrich is the Republican choice, I STILL won't vote for Obama. The revolution is coming, regardless, so bring it on, if that's what you want. I'll be ready. It'll come fast with Obama because he's a STEALTHY tool of Globalism who can't be touched because he's black and is perfect for today's political climate to bring in the NWO, but Newt is a KNOWN liar/tool so it'll come fast still, but there will be more people who will push back against "HIS" agendas because he's Republican.
It is better to have a beast that listens to the people and attacks the more dangerous beasts than having a beast in sheep's clothing, who thinks he knows everything better and doesn't listen to the people at all. That's why if I was a Democrat in the U.S., I would register as a Republican only to get Ron Paul elected, because unlike Obama, at least he is not corrupted and you can still fight him on the issues he is wrong on. If Obama wins again, you will get the same change as since 2008 - none
@schlafanzyk Ron Paul is the only guy who looked at the deregulation of the housing market done by the Bush administration and Republicans and said "we just didn't deregulate far enough".
Fight him on the issues? You'll get the same result as fighting Obama on the issues - he won't change his position because he's right.
@DisturbedHavok I don't get your point. He doesn't have to change his position, that's why we have a democracy. In his view more deregulation would've made sense because if you had to do it, you should deregulate everybody instead of just the banks. Ron Paul has proven that he cares about the will of the people even if it goes against his ideology. That is why both progressives and conservatives would benefit from his policies, agree or disagree with his Libertarian views.
@schlafanzyk "Ron Paul has proven that he cares about the will of the people even if it goes against his ideology."
Really? So even if elected, he would support raising taxes on the rich? I doubt it, but a majority of Americans support that as well as universal health care.
LOL If anyine ever studied economics, they would know that its not only "libertarians that oppose the bailout." ...econ teachea that the market should be held responsible for their actions, and free market tells us that failing corporations are natural, it is part of competition.
@LelouchL3 And that is a bunch of crap. Even Alexander Hamilton advised against the nonsense you are defending in the Federalist papers. I don't know whose econ book you've been reading out of, but it is wrong as wrong can be, dude. Square yourself away!
@IIHOGZBREATHII all that may be true about Obama and maybe Ron Paul is none of those. Obama is also something else that Ron Paul isn't and never will be....President of the United States of America
@severe8403 And that is the stereotypical, weak liberal attitude that ensures the status quo of the Obama presidency. I am progressive myself and I realize that sometimes you need extraordinary measures if the people who are supposed to represent you, don't do so anymore. Ron Paul could very well be the last chance to save the democracy of the U.S. and things will only get worse under Obama. It may get worse less quickly than under RomneyGingrich, but that's the problem. We need positive change!
@schlafanzyk You have the stereotypical sheeple attitude and are just going along with the trend. Ron Paul wants to get rid of the EPA, reduce regulation, and do away with paper money this is the guy you support? Did u research his opinions or did u just watch a few debates after hearing a few of ur friends saying they support him and though, "why not"? Ron Paul isn't the last chance to save the US he will only make things worse, much worse in fact.
@severe8403 Precisely, if you even took a moment to research these things you'd realize: the EPA doesn't actually stop pollution, it's inefficient; state laws and property rights far suffice. Over-regulation constricts the markets, makes things worse for the smaller business' but promotes the largest corporations & artificially stimulates monopolies. Wall St. and the big corporations regulate themselves. He wants competition for paper money (counterfeit Fed notes) not to abolish it. Research...
@Raelsatu You actually believe that wall street and corporations regulate themselves after what they were doing that caused the GD and the recession that we are still mired in? Thats like saying criminals punish themselves. Lol way to rattle off consecutive talking points that are easily dispelled with any type of research, you gotta come better than that man
@severe8403 Easily dispelled huh? I challenge you to dispel it. Corporations/government union = corporatism = fascism. The recession and market crash were caused by the same people who live outside the rule of law; why do you think next to nobody was prosecuted for it? Just do a search for 'over-regulation'; and checked out the book "With Liberty and Justice for Some" by Glenn Greenwald if you don't think these corporate entities live outside the rule of law. You've been informed.
@severe8403 You obviously don't know a lot. I have looked into Ron Paul for years now and I am a progressive like Cenk, who had big hopes in Obama until I realized he is just another corporate tool. Ron Paul wants to get rid of regulation because the regulators can basically be owned by the people they are supposed to regulate. He wants to replace corrupt regulation with effective laws and competition that in his view do a better job, which is at least addressing the problem for now.
@schlafanzyk Ron paul is a great choice for liberals if liberals start to imbrace paul the tea party will condem him we all know how hateful the tea party is. then dems in washington will see that we liberal are real and that we can do the same to them then they get in line if he's elected we filibuster anything we don't like perfect!!!!
To be fair President Obama seems honest about himself on this on, but my question is: is he another flip flopper like (Willard) Mitt Romney? Only he's not the worst flip flopper compared to Mitt?
The question is, does even a perceived divide in income or asset equality connote a crisis or does it highlight "progress" ? :)
On a sheer number level, there are more so called have nots, and more haves, why, because there are more people breathing on this planet than there was 50 years ago.
It;s the reason there is more of everything and the need for more of everything, simply put there are more human beings prancing around
@clownprince88 That's just stupid all over. More lives mean more demand, which means supply would have to increase, which means more people would have to have jobs and businesses would grow bla bla bla. It's called an economy stupid.
@CharlieRutlage I watched the healthcare debate where he said he was against healthcare for people who don't have insurance or can't pay for it. And when asked, "Well what are you going to do then, just let them die?" He said, "Ahh, No, ha ha, um, no" and shrugged his shoulders.
if any of us walk into an ice cream shop and saw only 2 flavors we would be pissed. but some how it is the norm to only have 2 realistic choices in politics.
You were saying two of the lesser evils. Well then I choose Ron Paul who claims to decide to not even play the game the way it currently is. The Third option. Even though I don't agree with a lot of Ron Paul's ideas I believe that he is the genuine article not willing to bend his ideas for political or personal gain. TYT viewers, Cenk, people don't fall into the trap of just thinking that, even though it can be that way, we shouldn't let it. Remember V for vendetta!
@ki11bi77 Hey I'm really interested in all of the ideas that you don't agree with Ron Paul because Cenk said the exact same thing but both of you are very vague. I'm not saying this to spite you Im just very curious at what your disagreements are with Ron Paul.
@ki11bi77 : Ron Paul is a relic from the 1890s, who believes that private charities and churches should be responsible for social welfare. V for Vendetta came out as a reaction against Thatcherite England, which was notoriously economically conservative and anti-labor. I don't see how you can praise both Ron Paul and this comic book hero simultaneously, or support Ron Paul.
@bigboywasim While I personally agree with your statement about Ron Paul, I have to disagree with your unborn rights comment, because the unborn are exactly that UNBORN and should have rights at birth, but while unborn they are still apart of their mother, who should have the right to choose
Since when did anarcho capitalism become so popular? if you support Ron Paul this is what you are asking for not that he could get any thing he wants passed. Don't put your faith into one man bind together to get corporatism out of your politics then maybe a Actual Progressive might stand a chance again corporate America
@MoMember88 Ron Paul is sincere and not bought or part of the establishment. He is not a flip flopper. One person can only do so much but he will do whatever he can for the good of the country. He has predicted every economic bubble since office many years before. He will bring the troops home. He is not a anarcho capitalist but a minarchist.
@bigboywasim I've heard all these arguments never once with any evidence shown. He preaches freedom and liberty but thinks states rights trump individual rights such as a woman's right to choose?
When you choose the lesser of 2 evils you still wind up with evil. I like how Obama acts like he has nothing to do with the income inequalities. It doesn't matter if Newt wins because he and Obama are both fucking horrible. If it isn't Ron Paul it doesn't fucking matter. We will still have the same illegal wars, the same shitty monetary policy and the same trampling of our liberties. The patriot act will look like it was mild. The Iraq war will look successful compared to what is coming...
I blame Democrats for voting for the candidate that is not as bad as the Republican candidate. Continually voting for the "lesser of two evils" keeps you living in an evil nation. The easy solution ,while still voting, would be to not vote for either evil and vote for anyone else who seems good. Even writing in a candidate who lost in a primary is better.
Ron Paul is the only option. He has the most passionate supporters. We will bring whoever we can. A lot of us are already phone banking. We had donated whatever we could. He is the only one not bought. He is the only one sincere and will do whatever he says. When it is Ron Paul and Obama you will be voting for the evil that is Obama not lesser evil.
I still would not give Obama the time of day. I knew Cenk would cave and put his support behind Obama no matter what. Talking a big independent game is no good unless you are serious about voting for a third party or primary candidate. I'm judging Obama by the alternative and there isn't a whole lot of difference. If Gingrich wins so be it. I'm not going to be the Democratic party's bitch are you?
I love Obama. He's been a great president and I will fight to see his re-election. Saving the economy from total collapse, DADT repeal, bin Laden dead, Iraq War ending, and comprehensive health care were amazing accomplishments for just these three years in office.
Just a thought here Cenk, do you think he might have been better at changing Washington if the Republican majority wasn't batshit crazy? We should hold him accountable, but let's not expect miracles.
Young Complainers open your minds and look at Ron Paul. Read a book...stop criticizing. Do not be spoon fed by the media. I know your extreme liberals, but you should really look at Dr. Paul.
@MasterMovieMaker1000 what who the HELL ARE YOU?! do you even watch TYT?! they are one of few who actually give RP credit... I'm a RP supporter and you, sir, are a misinformed..
Newt vs Cheney, considering both are fasicts, I draw devil faces on them, and write in the name of the candidate I, and many other people, what in office, not the homophobe Rick Perry, not Michelle Bachmann, but Ron Paul.
Idk I think people need to be more realistic about managing there expectations and what a politician can do and can't do for them vs what they can actually do for themselves to better there situation.
I've sort of abandoned the thought of voting for one guy because the other guy is worse comparatively. That's kind of what they want you to do. In fact, I'll bet the GOP would LOVE for Obama to win again, since they got so many agreed-upon deals out of him.
At this point, I'm still leaning toward voting for a third party. You can say I'm "throwing my vote away", but wouldn't I truly be throwing my vote away by voting for someone I don't like just because he's "less evil" than someone else?
This is why we need third party candidates that represent BOTH the conservative and liberal perspective. Yes, I am aware that third party candidates have no chance in hell in winning an election that is monopolized by the GOP and the Democratic Party, but the fact that third party candidates can siphon votes from both the GOP and the Democrats will force both the GOP and Democrats to be more true their constituency.
@Magus77777 hes worse he belives in us letting those who are ill go to church and ask for help... seperation of church and state anyone? He believes in no programs to aid the poor and social security for anyone who mind you has paid into it all their lives aka the shit they take out of my paycheck.... not like they are gonna say oh well we dont want this program anymore so here... is your money back for all that you paid into all you life. Fuck that asshole.
@BlackMambakins Obama is more conservative than Ron Paul on most policies.
Obama is pro Mil Industry Complex, pro wall st/shadow mkt, pro drug war, pro arresting people without due process, pro socialism for the rIch (aka fascism)
Obama is a smooth liar. Obama is a blue dog democrat. A fraud.
RP is the opposite on all of these issues. Rp is more liberal on all these
Yes RP does have some sideways views but he's moves us forward a lot more than Obama.
@snortemup11 You liberals are repulsive. You vote in the Banker-owned puppet thinking that he was going to "change the game in Washington" like complete morons and then you proceed to ridicule people who support the only candidate that isn't bought by the same people. Pathetic.
@TheAntiEgalitarian Ron Paul is for liberty and freedom of all. He wants individual rights and property rights. He is against the rights of bosses to be taken away simply because they hire. The ability for someone to sue their boss for even minor things is counter productive. The boss will not hire as many people or avoid hiring a particular group of people to reduce risk of being sued. A lot of it is subjective to a point like sexual harassment.
@bigboywasim Liberty and freedom for all but will allow for states rights to trump the individual rights for women to choose to have an abortion or not
@bigboywasim is a zygote a person no its a clump of cells with a potential for life there are many reasons why Abortions should be legal. Mainly making them illegal forces women to seek dangerous alternatives. You don't the federal government should insure individuals rights a liberty over that of the state?? Should we then allow Texas to bring back segregation?
So we have a choice of sucks and sucks worse? How about the dems pushing a REAL liberal/progressive into the whitehouse? ANY, and I mean ANY, half-legit liberal could beat Newt. I can't wait to hear who Newt's VP will be being it's looks like all of media including the Turks have nominated Newt already.
So the country continues to move towards more evil, the only difference being how quickly. Make a real change by voting for someone who is actually progressive in the primaries and failing that, vote third party.
I used to vote on a platform of "Meh, these guys suck, but at least they don't suck as bad as the rest." in Belgium as well. I think this deal with politics transcends borders and oceans.
I'm voting for Paul. Don't care what religion he is, if he's racist, sexist, ageist, or whatever - because those are his personal views and above all, he is a constitutionalist. I'd LOVE to see what bullshit excuses congress gives for why they can't work together with a member of their own party. That'll put all of their asses in a sling. Y'all better start paying attention to those representative and senate races and vote in them too.
Personal views like supporting the Defense of Marriage Act? Letting the states decide if you can have euthanasia? Repealing Roe vs Wade? Putting troops on the border with Mexico? Believing there should be no separation between church and state? Which one of these personal anti-liberty views do you like him for?
Constitutionalism is as moronic as religion. You don't form all your politics on some ancient document. Jefferson himself said it would be ridiculous if anyone would still listen to the rules of the constitution even 19 years after it was written. You're over 200 years further by now. The Constitution is not perfect, nor threatening to any politician. It's a piece of paper and most of the time, they wipe their ass with it. Constitutionalism is a religion.
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH You are quite ignorant. There's a good reason we amend the Constitution; as time alters. There's also a very good reason the other amendments remain intact; to preserve the sanctity of liberty, freedom & prevent our country from turning into an oligarch-run tyrannical corpocracy. When you debase the fundamental purpose & meaning of the Constitution, you head down a dangerous path that all once-great empires were destroyed by. People like you are the downfall of America. R.I.P
Governments don't care about your freedom and they sure as hell don't care about some stupid piece of paper. Real freedom comes from the people, not from some ancient document and as long as governments exist, thee can be no true freedom.
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH That sounds like the kind of defense a warmongering fascist conservative would use to defend the completely unconstitutional Patriot Act, allow the police to arrest suspected criminals without a warrant or tangible evidence or censor speech that doesn't put the government on a pedestal. The constitution was created as a guideline for us, the citizens, to have rights against what would otherwise be an oppressive government. Ever hear of an amendment?
I'm an anarcho-socialist, so I resent the fuck out of you calling me a conservative. I'm also a staunch anti-militarist, believing that we should abandon the military completely, so I also resent the fuck out of you calling me a warmonger. I also support the abolition of the police. Your entire rant as an ad hominem at an imaginary person, because that's not me.
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH I'm not not calling you the conservative, I'm just saying that fascists, dictators and those that seek to oppress the citizenry of a nation would find a constitution that grants power to the people a hindrance. What did you think laid out the foundation for the American democracy, in all honesty? Besides, how can anyone take your views seriously when you support the abolition of the same (admittedly imperfect) police force and military that keeps you safe?
The military keeps me safe? Haha, let me guess "they protect my freedom", right?
First of all, armies are needed by the government for offensive action. Most armies in modern history suck at defending their country from invasions. Militia's are far more successful at this.
That's how it used to be. They kicked it up a notch because now they want domestic power as well (National Defense Autorization Act). And no piece of paper is going to stop them (unless it has dollarsigns on it).
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH Alright, I'm going to go ahead and humor you about your assumption that modern militaries "suck" at defending their country from invasions despite all the evidence to the contrary. If America abandoned it's Air Force who would prevent Venezuela from launching missiles into largely populated cities? Who would prevent North Korea from landing on our beaches without a Navy? Who would gather intelligence on potential threats? Highly trained professionals prevent this.
Please provide evidence to the contrary. Show me some example in recent history where an army did a good job at defending a country from an invading force, not followed by a thorough ass-kicking by militants and militia's.
Why would North Korea invade you (in which case you fight back, as a militia) or Venezuala bomb you?
I'd be willing to sign a paper that states none of my tax-dollars go to state-sponsored murderers, but in case of an invasion I'll have to defend my own house.

@OriginalCliche1 I think that "if done correctly" is the issue. @OriginalCliche1 same here, we need the best ideas from all sides of the isle and across the lake as well as all ends of the political spectrum to defend our liberties from corporatist/tyrannical governments. unfortunately, the banks have a gun to our head, which might kill even honest political efforts. the good news is that the gun might be empty or the bullet could turn out to be a dud and there already is a growing third-party, I think its called the "the justice party"
schlafanzyk 2 months ago
@schlafanzyk Question for you: Don't the states already do that? I mean, i live in PA, and our education system or "policies" are different than California or even Texas. What do you think?
Stingerbillion 2 months ago

If Obama wins again, you will get the same change as since 2008 - none
schlafanzyk 2 months ago
@schlafanzyk Ron Paul is the only guy who looked at the deregulation of the housing market done by the Bush administration and Republicans and said "we just didn't deregulate far enough".
Fight him on the issues? You'll get the same result as fighting Obama on the issues - he won't change his position because he's right.
DisturbedHavok 2 months ago
@DisturbedHavok I don't get your point. He doesn't have to change his position, that's why we have a democracy. In his view more deregulation would've made sense because if you had to do it, you should deregulate everybody instead of just the banks. Ron Paul has proven that he cares about the will of the people even if it goes against his ideology. That is why both progressives and conservatives would benefit from his policies, agree or disagree with his Libertarian views.
schlafanzyk 2 months ago
@schlafanzyk "Ron Paul has proven that he cares about the will of the people even if it goes against his ideology."

We need positive change!
schlafanzyk 2 months ago
@schlafanzyk You have the stereotypical sheeple attitude and are just going along with the trend. Ron Paul wants to get rid of the EPA, reduce regulation, and do away with paper money this is the guy you support? Did u research his opinions or did u just watch a few debates after hearing a few of ur friends saying they support him and though, "why not"? Ron Paul isn't the last chance to save the US he will only make things worse, much worse in fact.
severe8403 2 months ago
@severe8403 Precisely, if you even took a moment to research these things you'd realize: the EPA doesn't actually stop pollution, it's inefficient; state laws and property rights far suffice. Over-regulation constricts the markets, makes things worse for the smaller business' but promotes the largest corporations & artificially stimulates monopolies. Wall St. and the big corporations regulate themselves. He wants competition for paper money (counterfeit Fed notes) not to abolish it. Research...
Raelsatu 2 months ago
@Raelsatu You actually believe that wall street and corporations regulate themselves after what they were doing that caused the GD and the recession that we are still mired in? Thats like saying criminals punish themselves. Lol way to rattle off consecutive talking points that are easily dispelled with any type of research, you gotta come better than that man
severe8403 2 months ago
@severe8403 Easily dispelled huh? I challenge you to dispel it. Corporations/government union = corporatism = fascism. The recession and market crash were caused by the same people who live outside the rule of law; why do you think next to nobody was prosecuted for it? Just do a search for 'over-regulation'; and checked out the book "With Liberty and Justice for Some" by Glenn Greenwald if you don't think these corporate entities live outside the rule of law. You've been informed.
Raelsatu 2 months ago
@severe8403 You obviously don't know a lot. I have looked into Ron Paul for years now and I am a progressive like Cenk, who had big hopes in Obama until I realized he is just another corporate tool. Ron Paul wants to get rid of regulation because the regulators can basically be owned by the people they are supposed to regulate. He wants to replace corrupt regulation with effective laws and competition that in his view do a better job, which is at least addressing the problem for now.

I'm not saying this to spite you Im just very curious at what your disagreements are with Ron Paul.
exosfear512 2 months ago
@ki11bi77 : Ron Paul is a relic from the 1890s, who believes that private charities and churches should be responsible for social welfare. V for Vendetta came out as a reaction against Thatcherite England, which was notoriously economically conservative and anti-labor. I don't see how you can praise both Ron Paul and this comic book hero simultaneously, or support Ron Paul.

I blame Democrats for voting for the candidate that is not as bad as the Republican candidate. Continually voting for the "lesser of two evils" keeps you living in an evil nation.
Relyt22 2 months ago 2
This is why we need third party candidates that represent BOTH the conservative and liberal perspective. Yes, I am aware that third party candidates have no chance in hell in winning an election that is monopolized by the GOP and the Democratic Party, but the fact that third party candidates can siphon votes from both the GOP and the Democrats will force both the GOP and Democrats to be more true their constituency.

Pathetic.

Yeah, that's why so many people died so that you could have the right to vote.
Go kill yourself!!!

@Magus777777 Somebody who wants to repeal the 17th amendment and the 1964 civil rights act is a much better option? Maybe if you're a neo-nazi.
TheAntiEgalitarian 2 months ago
@TheAntiEgalitarian Ron Paul is for liberty and freedom of all. He wants individual rights and property rights. He is against the rights of bosses to be taken away simply because they hire. The ability for someone to sue their boss for even minor things is counter productive. The boss will not hire as many people or avoid hiring a particular group of people to reduce risk of being sued. A lot of it is subjective to a point like sexual harassment.
bigboywasim 2 months ago
@bigboywasim Liberty and freedom for all but will allow for states rights to trump the individual rights for women to choose to have an abortion or not
MoMember88 2 months ago
@MoMember88 What about the unborn's rights?
bigboywasim 2 months ago
@bigboywasim is a zygote a person no its a clump of cells with a potential for life there are many reasons why Abortions should be legal. Mainly making them illegal forces women to seek dangerous alternatives. You don't the federal government should insure individuals rights a liberty over that of the state?? Should we then allow Texas to bring back segregation?

@TheAntiEgalitarian One person might think it is a complement anther harassment. "You look nice today."

SSTTEEAALLTTHH 2 months ago in playlist Barack Obama

SSTTEEAALLTTHH 2 months ago in playlist Barack Obama 3
@M0US3P0T4TO
Constitutionalism is as moronic as religion.
SSTTEEAALLTTHH 2 months ago in playlist Barack Obama 11
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH You are quite ignorant. There's a good reason we amend the Constitution; as time alters. There's also a very good reason the other amendments remain intact; to preserve the sanctity of liberty, freedom & prevent our country from turning into an oligarch-run tyrannical corpocracy. When you debase the fundamental purpose & meaning of the Constitution, you head down a dangerous path that all once-great empires were destroyed by. People like you are the downfall of America. R.I.P
Raelsatu 2 months ago
@Raelsatu
Governments don't care about your freedom and they sure as hell don't care about some stupid piece of paper. Real freedom comes from the people, not from some ancient document and as long as governments exist, thee can be no true freedom.
SSTTEEAALLTTHH 2 months ago
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH That sounds like the kind of defense a warmongering fascist conservative would use to defend the completely unconstitutional Patriot Act, allow the police to arrest suspected criminals without a warrant or tangible evidence or censor speech that doesn't put the government on a pedestal. The constitution was created as a guideline for us, the citizens, to have rights against what would otherwise be an oppressive government. Ever hear of an amendment?
eagles980 2 months ago
@eagles980
SSTTEEAALLTTHH 2 months ago
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH I'm not not calling you the conservative, I'm just saying that fascists, dictators and those that seek to oppress the citizenry of a nation would find a constitution that grants power to the people a hindrance. What did you think laid out the foundation for the American democracy, in all honesty? Besides, how can anyone take your views seriously when you support the abolition of the same (admittedly imperfect) police force and military that keeps you safe?
eagles980 2 months ago
@eagles980
SSTTEEAALLTTHH 2 months ago
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH Alright, I'm going to go ahead and humor you about your assumption that modern militaries "suck" at defending their country from invasions despite all the evidence to the contrary. If America abandoned it's Air Force who would prevent Venezuela from launching missiles into largely populated cities? Who would prevent North Korea from landing on our beaches without a Navy? Who would gather intelligence on potential threats? Highly trained professionals prevent this.
eagles980 2 months ago
@eagles980
