We Dont READ or TEACH FROM Journal of Discourses. It is easy to say That the Prophet of God is a Man. And as Men we make numerous mistakes through out our lifetime. There are many errors and contradictions in the New Testament, also. All four books in the New Testament contradict each other frequently. When you deal with sequels, the chances are it's not going to be as good as the original. Both Mormonism and Christianity are sequels which can be proven to be untrue.

(Genesis 2:18) Here the Lord God makes a declarative statement that not only is marriage acceptable, but it is good. To remain single and alone is not good (evil). Does heaven contain good or evil things? If heaven contains good things, then it must contained married couples, since marriage has been defined by God himself as good.

The scripture does not say marriage does not continue in heaven. That is a gross misintrepretation of the scripture. The Bible does say what is bound on Earth is bound in heaven. Therefore, if yiou are mea`rried on Earth you are merried in heaven!

Active, tithing mormons constitute less than 0.01% of the world's population after 150 YEARS! This is not what Joe/Brigham prophesied at all - it was going to be success all the way with the 'gentiles' bending the knee or 'getting theirs'. Compared to Christianity, Islam Buddhism and many other religions it has failed. THIS IS A FAILED 'RESTORATION' BY ANY MEASURE. Scott, Brigham had 55 wives (check it). He drew no salary so he claimed (check it) but managed to support 55 wives in luxury with untold numbers of kids. He was sole trustee of 'church' funds and left $1.6 million (lowest figure I can find) to members of his family (nil to the 'church') - matter of public record. The 'church' managed to wrest most of the funds from the family by going to law. The guy was a thief as well as a heretic.

The NT superseded the OT in several ways e.g. animal sacrifice, the practice of marrying your brother's widow etc. Paul commended us to remain celibate if we could. There was no polygamy amongst the Jews at the time Jesus lived & he did not recommend it! No genuine Christian church has ever approved of it. Even among mormons it was so that 'spare' women could get married but there were no such women in Utah when Brigham married for the 55th time - single mormon men must have been happy for him!
