what engine do you have in this ,it seems propra fast lol ive got a 998 witch i plan to put a fast road/race cam,high lift rockers straight thru exhuast system and i want to put a straight cut gear box but do not have a clue about the ratios ? can you help with this ?
@englandman2008 its a 1275 metro engine with stage 3 head and highlift came twin su's and lightend and balanced flywheel with turbo clutch plate,and totaly striped it was alot faster than this vid as that day my bakes were playing up so ddnt drive it proper,on the ratios im not to sure best bet is if uv got a mini specialist near you talk to them and as many people u know lol
@IncessanteSpirito um in total i spent around6k on the mini totaly stripped out,gearbox i got cheap of a friend with jhe head and turbo clutch for about 800 had done 100miles breaking an engine in and then the engine shit the bed lol u can pick them up new for around a grand and totaly worth every penny for the sound then make lol
sounds good and goes well considering it only has a 266 cam.......well done m8, what engine size is it.............a 1275 or is it overbored??, ive got my new engine sat on the bench at the mo, 1340 MED engine, all stage 3, centre main strap etc, i'm just waiting for the sc box to arrive........
can anyone tell me what it means to have ya box "straightcut"...i got a close ratio box in my 1100 mini but dunno about this whole straightcut business...it certainly whines =].
a normal gearbos the gear teeth are cut at an angle 2 reduce noise and wear i beleive.where as straight cut gears are what they say they are the gears are cut horizontal instead of at an angle,they are ment 2 be stronger and u lose less bhp through the transmition meaning more goes 2 the wheels lol
so wierd watching this video, i probably go through that junction and by-pass every weekend. do you still have this mini? - im nearly 17 and starting to save up for a mini. would like somethink similar to this setup. is this a 1275 by the way?
it has a straight cut box with straight cut drop gears,kent 266 high lift cam,stage 3 head,twin su carbs,lightend and balanced flywheel,metro turb clutch,lowerd with a full cage and road legal slicks,last rolling road,was 80bhp not bad 4 a first attempt..

Yeah, they can handle more power, on the mini you need straight cuts after 120bhp, you will loose some power in the form of sound (dont forget)
