high rank cat garuga(Elegy for a Lone Wolf) is GODDAMN HARD. Any tips about beating him? I use a rathian and some conga S armor with skill Autotracker and Map, please tell me a good guide

@Drgons904ever if u can manage cut the tail and break his beak and ear. when he's pissed, do your best to avoid. sonic bombs won't work on him (i think flash MIGHT but i never tried it). he will also try to charge at you and make a back flip attack, be careful. also be sure to bring a lot of potions (if your armor's defense is not high enough). use a katana or a sword and shield.

Listening to this music is so nostalgic. I loved fighting Garugas in Freedom 1, and I am severely disappointed they were nerfed so greatly.

Has anybody else here seen a gold crown small Yian Garuga? I saw one in MHF2, and it's screech was incredibly high-pitched. If it was any smaller, it would have been smaller than my character, and it would have damaged my ear-drums!

i thought the low level garuga was easy to kill but i tried to kill a elder one and well.... the one eared ones are a lot stronger... although i can solo a G rank garuga it aint easy cus it can KO you if your not careful... same as nargacuga + king garuga is scary.. it like fighting a big rathian kut ku hybrid on steroids died purple and given rage pills... that thing will rage when u hit it once in the head..

I still remember that i fought a Yian Garuga, I thought it's easy, just like Kut-ku so i hv no doubts of slaying it. But i was wrong, i even died once and it is sooooo sly that i often fall into it's tricks

In mhf2 i used to use finblade (plesioth GS) to beat this babe in 30 or so minutes but in unite i beat hin in like 12 minutes with hammer(kut kut pick).

Garuga's soundtrack was probably one of the best in MHF1, but in MHF2, the introduction of White Fatalis and Akantor meant Capcom had to make "Epic" soundtracks for them, as with Tigrex and Narcacuga and Ukanlos in MHFU.

Doesn't mean to say i hate the original battle soundtracks, as a matter of fact, i think the Volcano soundtrack in MHFU sounds amazingly dramatic for Gravios and Lavasioth.

Sadly, the new Jungle and Tower battle soundtracks in MHFU are worse than what they were in MHF2. =(

@Ludroth Why? If it were for a GS user, hot and run technique really works, when he spits meatballs, just land 1-2 hits on the head, roll to recover and run.

And no traps, shock traps are ok but I never bring then whenever I go hunt Garuga.

And the tail swipe ain't so deadly and can be easily avoided. If you're not sure bout yourself, just bring max potions.

i glitched for Yian Garuga in MHF1 and killed it 28 times.... the glitch isnt really that hard... (in MHF1) buy 2 spiderwebs from the young lady with the big Market but not the Peddling Granny with the BIG backpack...then go on the 6* Yian Garuga Urgent and trade the spiderwebs (both of them) to the Veggie Elder in area 5 or 7 (i think, i forgot since i was playin MHF2 tooooooo long)or some other area...then wait or attack the Yian Garuga

then go on the quest again hit its head 2,3 times WIN

For the first Monster Hunter Freedom, there's a trick to killing the Yian Garuga, but it's a long read.

For the quest Rage of the Yian Garuga in the Forest/Hills zone rune to area #7 and wait there for 20 minutes WITHOUT CROUCHING. When the time is up the screen will show "Quest Complete" and you get the reward. But after you do that go back to the quest again and actually fight the Yian Garuga, he'll have 1/3 health...2 lg Barrel-Bombs and 2 small barrel bombs will kill him.

My suggestion is get a Hammer and do as do coz im trying to get the full armor so when he Shoots 1 or 3 fire balls triple pound his head from the side thats how i kill him hope it helps

yeah thats effective.. i play MHF and defeated the bastard with a black belt hammer... i would also suggest that u use pitfall traps and LOTS OF BOMBS to weaken it.. that way even before the time runs out, your already proclaimed the victor! YAY!!!

Pitfall traps? I dunno how it is in Freedom-1, but in Freedom-2 he avoids Pitfall traps. Only shock-traps will do.

I've beaten him a couple times, but only BARELY. He is one tough bastard. I should be prouder to wear my Garuga stuff...

Best I can suggest is bring lots of shock traps, max potions, and a weapon you can block with, preferrably a Gunlance. Bolster your strength as much as possible (Felyne kitchen, Mega Armorskins, etc...), and hope for the best.
