  • brilliant video

  • GREAT version...thank god Sheila E. was there on the drums!

  • I think it's a great performance! I *almost* saw them on this tour, but the show sold out too fast!

  • oh remember this is is thing he did back im 1985 when i saw him live brill thats hojo

  • too many starrs to recover the groove of this anthem -won't link it to my facebook

  • This is surreal. Ringo Starr, Sheila E, and Roger Hodgson from Supertramp all on the same stage? The people attending this show lucked out that day.

  • Hey that's Sheila E on the drums also next to Ringo. How cool!!!

  • Demasiado buena la cancion y howard jones no ha perdido calidad en absoluto, excelente!!

  • horrible las vegadized lounge rendition of a truly great HJones song....this sounds like happy hour @ the Holiday Inn Council Bluffs Iowa...or bumfcked Egypt....what a damn shame

  • @xxzeon Pardon me. I live in Iowa and I resent that comment. We're not all fat hick farmers.

  • @xxzeon Let's stop making comments about bumfucked Egypt..have respect for other countries and other cultures..ty !!

  • @Alexabix Weird indeed without the glam hair, but I think Howard Jones has aged like a fine wine. Still looking (and sounding) just as good as ever. :)

  • Hey! More comments below! COOL!

  • jOhN lItHgOw RoCkS!

  • Ernie Leblanc Is that Greg Lake using a pick on a Fender P-bass? If it is, ask him what time it is and if he'd like to be fired at or after 3:10. Smile Howie!

  • Roger!!!! :)

    What a wonderful band! :)

  • Any band that has Howard Jones or Roger Hodgson in it is pretty darn cool in my book.

  • CHICK DRUMMER? DAMN!!!! WIFE MATERIAL!!!! hnhdbgfndrthyhty!!!!!

  • @TROLLERSDELIGHT Unlikely that, I'm guessing that she doesn't appreciate the description "chick"

  • @TROLLERSDELIGHT Shelia E.......

  • where's his Jupiter 8?

  • @LaugermanPROductions Like everything else these days it's been reduced to samples for live performance.

  • I didn't know John Lithgow toured with Ringo? Quite a talent.

  • Y RINGO DONDE ESTA,...

    SE ESTA RECURSENAOD O QUE...

  • estas ciego ?? 2:08 aparece.

  • @JOAQUINCHW he's the drummer

  • No offense to Greg Lake as i respect his work, but he killed the soul of that amazing bass line.

  • Most embarrasing moment ive ever seen onstage was at the Ft. Lauderdale show of this tour.

When Howard went out front to do the "whoa-whoas" he tripped over a stage monitor and busted his arse. The whole band could hardly keep a straight face!

  • howard me chupa la pija

  • Absolutely fantastic :)

  • Great cast !

  • My favorite song from him

  • Yanno ima big fan of all his stuff but seeing this video kinda depressed me because he drug it on sooooo long all the way to a drumroll and slowmotion singing..I was like ok HJ just let it go already !! I bet thats what Ringo was thinking too .. I thought i seen him looking at his watch ..look at 5:54 -5:58...... lol

  • Brilliant quality - thanks for the post

  • Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoahhh!

  • still got good vocals

  • This is the good shit.

  • What's the history of this video?? Love this tune..and the band lineup is INSANE?

  • I miss the Keyboards Sound............(maybe defect;)

    THIS IS ROCK MUSIC!!!

What should it be with double drums - STEREO?? (or is Ringo no more powerful enough...:P)

Sorry - but this is a Shit Update - not the 80´s Studio quality :/

    Going back to the Original...........

OMG he´s got a crying old man now ;(

  • as good as this is, i still prefer the version for the sims 3, ahahahhahahahaha

  • Greg Lake on Bass and Roger Hodgson on Guitar.

  • Cool....Thanx for the post :) I always thought this song was by Duran Duran...lol

  • Sheila E and Ringo on drums! Cool! Thanx 4 posting!

  • My God, what a bizarre band line -up.

  • nice song but not a 7 minute one.

  • That's Sheila Escovedo on drums or also known as Sheila E. after working with PRINCE

  • @helsinki4

That's Sheila E? Wow she is still hot.....

  • Am I seeing things or is that Sheila Escovedo (aka Sheila E) on drums with Ringo?

  • rock forever!

  • Which year is this?

  • amazing

  • WOW! What a treat 2 see Ringo & Sheila playing drums at the same time in perfect syncoaption!

  • Good to see Sheila E!

  • howard has only gotten better!

  • lol, Howard Jones and Colin Hay are looking more and more alike with each passing year.

  • spent hours trying to figure out this song... do you know how hard it is to google "whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh oh..."?

  • @friskycake Ha, ha. I just had to rewatch "Young Again" with Keanu Reeves in order to figure out what this song was. That was one of my fav movies as a kid and I loved this song in it.

  • @madammediocre lucky you I resorted to screening Kids Incorporated episodes

  • @friskycake LOL! I googled "Charlie Chaplin in a music video" no luck

  • @friskycake That is tooo funny! ( But, Yes I can imagine!)

  • @friskycake

    Yes I do. Peace

  • best song ever

  • So... Aren't Greg Lake and Roger Hodgson both there?

  • I believe Martin Jones did the bass .... his brother for the original hartistry.

  • i love the positivity of this man's lyrics. brings me to tears every single time.

  • ONE OF MY FAV'S FROM THE 80'S! KICKIN' BRIDGE!! Wish I could find the original video on YT. Does anyone know where it is?

  • Used to rock to it all tha time on here..dang, where'd it go!!

  • i love this song i here it all the time at work

  • Greg Lake? Did he do the original bass track for this?

  • No Hairstay, this was Ringo Starr's All Starr Band Tour, with Greg Lake in the Band. Ringo Tours every 2-3 years with a different band of famous musicians who get to do their own songs during the show like Peter Frampton, Billy Squire, Colin Hay from men @ Work, the late Billy Preston, Burton Cummings, Richard Marx, Joe Walsh and the guys from this Band-Rodger Hodgson (Suupertramp), Greg, Sheila E, Ian Hunter.

  • @unskinnyboba Thank you for the detailed informations.

  • Luv ya Howie, but my lands, pick a different shirt.

  • Great ASB on this tour: Greg Lake, Roger Hodgeson(Supertram), Sheila E, Ian Hunter(Cleveland Rocks, etc)...

  • Look at Sheila E. on drums!"Where you from?Oakland!"The LP bassline on this song gets me wet! Loosen up that E string and vibrate like a 4-D cell toy,Ya'll!

  • sexy chick on drums,,,,

  • agreed...keep the camera on her longer!

  • @MrJohnobrien She is Sheila Escovedo former drummer with Prince.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrJohnobrien That's Sheila E.

  • @MrJohnobrien: That's Sheila E!

  • great !!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is something that I believe everyone should listen to... There is so much TRUTH being taught in it!

  • this music is off the sims 2.

  • Your right! He recorded it in Sim Language for The Sims Open for Business

  • Definitely, this is dance music, throw away the pick!

  • Tell the "bassist" to drop the pick and start slapping and popping.

  • I LOVE HOWARD FROM ITALIA !!!!!!

  • awesome!

wow oh ohhh oh wow oh ohhhh

  • OMG...Sheila E...Ringo Starr ...HOWARD JONES! THE BEST!

  • Awesome!! Howard is in fine form. The whole band rocks. What would have made my day is if Ringo was playing a SIMMONS SDS V kit!!

  • It feels weird seeing him without giant hair.

  • 0:05- 0:14. Love that part, brings back vivid memories of the late 80s when I was real small. :) Howard should come out with a CD with 10 or 12 different versions of this song for a 25th anniversary edition.

  • Besides Ringo, there's also a female drummer next to him--Is that Sheila E. or some other great female percussionist? If anybody knows, let me know ok?

Mikey (Faved & 50*Stars for Howard)

  • Sheila E. Yes.

  • Bugger me ! That's Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) on the red strat !!! Sweet lineup ... when was this concert ?

  • What get's me is the brilliant of the rhythm. Drums, Bass and Guitar work well. Added with the brass.

  • My first time hearing this song! This was amazing!

  • I saw him in Sellersville, PA earlier this month (Jul, '08) and also in Camden, NJ in January. He is quite the showman and entertainer, from acoustic to the electric numbers. The kid I have been shuttling to camp has been insisting I play all Hojo during the ride so I got Jones on the brain. So he's still out there playing, try and catch a show if he's in your town. You will not be disappointed.

  • Fantastic! Howard Jones still sounds just as great as he did in the 80s! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • Would you please tell me when and where this was performed? Oh yes and thank you so kindly for posting this video.

  • Wow! Great performance by Howard Jones and Ringo Starr. I haven't heard Howard Jones Music in ages. Ringo you ROCK!!!

  • If you get the dvd this sounds great in 5.1

  • Great Song!

    Snazzy Shirt! ;)
