I saw the band perform in the Spotlight Kid era... and yes... they could pull off all those things live... and yes they did the 'time change' slide in 'Veterans Day Poppy'... and yes it sounded just like the record. Wow.
@TBonePickensetc I've replayed that riff countless times......it's just as satisfying each time. You have a good ear, sir!! Did you catch the Bongo Fury Tour with Zappa? Epic. Veteran's Day Poppy is another favorite of mine.

The time change thing... seemed impossible... the guitars did it exactly like the record. It was astounding.
