It are the beginning of the new ecclesiastical humanity everywhere in the world! yours kompositionen are exceedingly nice! You are a sweet girl at the same time! Olaf

  • I should have remembered who this was. Anna Larsen. She's a child prodigy that has taken some lessons from Lang Lang.

  • flawless at 1:00 it sounds better if your slow it down and like idk how to say but express that part it makes the song seam like so much more. Great job!

lol she cant play octaves with one hand and she is playing this wow

  • god people. she's not a prodigy theres a bunch of kids that can do this if they pratice ALOT. prodigy's are people who can write music compose music and PLAY it. not just playing it. anyone can do that!!

  • @sprluver1234 It's a fair challenge. You probably didn't see the symphony she wrote when she was 10 years old, which won top prize in the 18 years old and under ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards. It's posted on the channel.

  • @sprluver1234 BZZZZZZ Wrong on all counts!

  • wow!!! excellent:-O

  • talented :D

  • Thank you Anna! That's wonderful! I just turned 7 and I also play this piece.

You can see it on my Youtube page: TatyanaPlays

  • sweet......

  • errrm...... how..?

  • aww, she must not even be able to reach an octave :)

  • This is played extremely well.... and at 6 years old!! I'm playing this with my teacher now and I'm 16! I love the song and I just hope you are able to really love the songs you play at such a young age. Because to me loving and feeling the music is an important part of playing piano. You should want to play music and not be forced, so I hope this is true for you. If you love it, keep playing because you are very very good!

  • Holy shit

  • Genius

  • The ending is my favorite part.

  • @EmilyBearfan I mean, to play...haha, not the end of the video. :)

  • I really dont like it. Thats not rly tallant. I think its NO LIFE

  • @kols3332 Really? You should hear her new video of this piece.

  • Beautifull! Simly splendid!

But look on the other side. The poor kid probably hasn't got any childhood ...

    Anyway: good job, kid!

  • 6 YEARS OLD ?! WOW :) IM REALLY IMPRESSED BY THIS

  • Never mind! I watched the new recording; very nice!!!!!

  • This is truly inspiring, if you dont mind me asking how many hours does she practise?

    her playing is awesome,

  • i feel horrible, i was just thinking that i was good at playing piano...

    and then i saw this...

    a 6 year old?

im like a teenager and im going to start playing this next week!

  • Evidently little Anna was a better musician at the age of 6 then I will ever be in my entire life. So long as I can listen to her play, I won't let it bother me though.

    PS: Disliking this video is like hitting yourself with a hammer;

I don't understand why anyone would do it intentionally.

  • im learning this....im 11

  • wow work it bb girl!

  • omg

  • Epoustouflant

  • she's really good! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! I give you a 100,000,000 over ten!

  • Very Nice!

  • I've watched a couple other videos of this song and I prefer the slower tempo much better. that is so cool...

  • Considering her age, this is really impressive. But the piece needs a lot of minor improvments, such as an increase in tempo and a few issues with the dynamics. The notes are all there in the right place, but the piece is far from how Debussy intended.

  • nooo non ci credo!!!!

  • this is so incredible. i cant believe shes only 6. such a great talent ive never seen before

  • and you're only 6?!?!?! dang!

  • She was 6 when this was taped. Now she's 9 soon to be 10.

  • @JmusicluverM Wow... Loved it!!

  • - - god!!!perfect!!!

  • Im play it now

    No feelings!!!!!!!

  • Your really good! :]

I learned this piece when I was 11.

It took me FOREVER, and I couldn't play it as flawlessly as you!

  • very good! but in the starting part i could hear a very slight increase in your tempo... you have potentials :D go girl!!

  • I always listen to your playing, it is just wonderful!

  • SUPER !!!

  • p.s. when i wrote continie in my 1st comment, I meant continue.

  • Anna, you are so talented! Watching and hearing you play inspires me to continue my piano playing. Continie to share your amazing gift with everybody!! Best wishes!!

  • yeee heee heee! wonderful dear!

  • nice, jealous much!! im trying to learn this piece atm, getting the final touches on it, well done Anna, keep it up :)

  • Made my jaw drop. Amazing.

  • Quel talent !

  • Wow, you are an amazing pianist! How do you play so well? :)

  • brilliant

  • I love this piece so.

  • FANTASTICO, tienes un gran talento, me agrada mucho tus interpretaciones Anna.

  • So talented! Great job, prodigy....

  • you are amazing! at the age 6! well, you should back your chair too so you can move you hands.lol=]

  • great technique, but need working on the dynamics.

anyway, i play this song when i was 16. when i was 6, i was barely playing mary has a little lamb lolz. good job!

  • FAKEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;P

  • you are beautiful, so your interpretation is.... keep on playing!

  • It's that pesky piano teacher again...after all, I do this for a living. I want to balance the positive with the negative, so: good rotational technique in beginning, fingers more developed than in Bach Invention, excellent learning skill, but musical aspects still elude Anna--almost no dynamics, no "breathing", no Debussyan sound or touch or apparent understanding of what the piece is about. "Le petit negre" by the same composer would have been a better choice for her at this stage.

  • Yes, well you're right. Breathing was a concept she hadn't been introduced to yet, and dynamic contrast in a 6 year old is very hard, since they have no arm weight. But these videos track her musical evolution through the years 5 to present. Dynamic contrast and breathing are still things we're working on. Also working on how to breathe so it sounds natural and not like a hiccup. Also, details of arm weight and articulation. All sophisticated ideas beyond just the notes. Thanks!

  • Thank you for your friendly reply. So many parents get defensive when their children are criticized. I am not only a piano teacher but I periodically judge childrens' piano competitions and auditions so I've had experience with that sort of thing. I can see that Anna is growing steadily in her artistry and technical skill. There should be plenty of repertoire for her now which is ambitious but which she can master. The Bach French Suite & the Mozart & Haydn should be great!

  • Yes, I think one objective with Anna was finding a couple pieces that would challenge her "inner ear" with new impressionistic harmonies. The deeper understanding comes a bit later, but it's good to build a foundation for the inner ear early. That's kind of the idea.

  • I am taking lessons for 3 years now...i have been instructed by the world renound pianist George Darden and he said it should sound like water and that is how i have played this piece many of times by making it sound like water, and the middle sections where it changes into B flat then to D flat it is supposed to be much slower than the beginning and the last parts...this doesnt sound like that

  • This recording was made over three years ago. Anna has returned to this piece again recently. An interesting recording to listen to (which we recently discovered) is Rachmaninoff's. It's wonderfully different from what you normally hear. Check it out.

  • @derprstr she is only six, and how old are you? give her some credit thats pretty amazing..

  • @derprstr

The kid's six!! Give her a break!! (:

  • @LarsenPiano: I appreciate your comment about challenging the "inner ear." When I studied piano, I played some of Bartok's Mikrokosmos works for piano. Since those used scales and modes not typically found in Western European music, it "stretched" my ears and sense of tonality. Even now in my musical taste, I may alternate between old favorites and craving a new sound. Trying to get my head around Mahler's symphonic works has that challenging effect...

  • @RadioFreeSpike I'm glad you appreciated that comment. No one has ever affirmed that idea, though I've stated it many times! People want to drill Czerny, which is so boring for kids, it's a barren Sahara of musical ideas that dry up the inner ear. Thanks so much for your suggestion about the Bartok. That's not one we have looked at, and we'll check it out.

  • Her performance was great and she is so pretty too :-)

  • lol. I just picked up piano again, and picked up a copy of children's corner suite. I was reading through the music, and thought I'd better check out youtube to see how the pieces should sound and should be played. little did I know I'd learn from a 6 y/old!

  • Thanks for the note! For mature "musical interpretation", definitely check out Rachmaninoff's recording. Someone posted his recording on YouTube. The sound quality isn't great (probably from 1930's) but you can hear all the phrasing and everything!

  • what a lovely performance and at age 6years

you are very accomplished pianist! Would love to see you play many, many times.

  • Very nice! Very impressive for a 6 yr old!

  • Thanks, glad you liked it! Check out some of the more recent recordings!

  • amazing!

  • You are Awesome Anna!!! You will grow up to be n awesome pianist one day. Just use a little more expression. Look up Lang Lang piano on youtube......

  • We've seen Lang Lang live 3 times at Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall. We enjoy his performances very much! This recording was made before we understood much about phrasing. If you check out her more recent Debussy Snow is Dancing video, I hope you'll hear better phrasing.

  • Wow! Anna, you are amazing.

  • You are amazing, Anna!

  • amazing technique on top of incredible talent, you are a shining star Anna!

  • Wow!! Anna, you're so cute... and such a talented pianist too, it's amazing!

  • Awesome technique!

  • I remember those toothless days lol, except I was playing soccer instead of piano. Her accuracy is amazing!

  • You're going to be a great pianist one day, and you're getting there frighteningly quickly!!! Great job!
