Jamerson No1 fan here but this is terrible. Either it is out of sync, or running the bass louder is kinda messing with the sense of tempo..beats me.

it's out of sync, it goes out of sync when the verse starts. go listen to a version with all instruments an vocals at the correct levels an you can clearly tell he's on the one. This just wasn't synced properly, has nothing to do with licks being over the drummers heads. Don't sell Motown drummers short, they were as rock steady as they come. And believe that if they couldn't jive with Jamerson they wouldn't have been on the session.

yeah this tune and diana ross/supremes how long has that evening train been gone,i think if he got a real good vibe off the group or singer then he rocked out,check most of marvin and tammi stuff/diana ross/martha reeves there all top tunes
