Notice how his forehand doesn't scoop way up over his shoulder, but in fact rarely even comes up over his shoulder at all. It's more wrapping around his body.
It's not only the technique, its also the raquet and the strings. A heavier raquet(like his) produces much more spin than a lighter raquet using the same swing. I bought a 334 grs raquet and all my shots now have twice the spin they had before, Roger also uses a string combination of natural gut and other kind of nylon gut, which creates even more spin. All this things just improve the massve spin he alredy generates with his wrist.
It also has a lot to do with the head of the racquet face. It's just like how in the past people like Pete Sampras were able to generate spin with a very modest grip. You can generate a lot of spin by adjusting the angle with your wrist and driving through the ball. It causes the ball to move forward opposed to whipping UP the ball more (Rafa) which causes the ball to kick up more.
the best here is Waitaro thank u thank u thank u for those videos , u can´t imagine how much i learned from them. i wish i could visit tokyo when fedex and co. re there for the tournament. ciao waitaru xxx ang grazie xxx
lol you guys are making judgementals way too quickly... though i want to agree with yous. And about the only player to still make contact with contact point after hitting ball there are a few players who do this, sebastien grosjean is one of them. But reminder than grosjean also have one of the best forehands on tour.
There is no one that can compare. He is more talented at teniis than Michael Jordan is at basketball. Before Federer, Michael was the most talented for his sport ever.
He keeps his head so still and eyes the ball so well on all of his strokes. He's the only player I've seen who you can actually see raise his head AFTER he makes contact with the ball.
Like to watch his footwork.

but then how does he generate spin? It seems like he doesnt even come below the ball, but almost hits it flat but it has so much spin
