OMG you are awesome! Thanks so much for these videos. I can't believe I only just found these! I've had a 550d for 6 months or so and only was interested in the video aspect of it until recently. Now I am really interested in photography - hence only just searched to find someone like you.
Looks like I have some viewing ahead of me! Thanks so much for doing these! I do free tutorials (not on photography) as well and it's a fairly thankless pursuit sometimes!
dude! the lens u suggested is a great buy i guess. But can you tell me what could u use that for other than portraits and pictures of faces... hoping to hear from ya..
Mistakes are only lessons. We learn what does and doesn't work from them. Shoot in manual mode and shoot fearlessly are my favourite 2 of these 10 tips.
thanks for all the clips...i feel now that i am up for a challenge. but any specific brand that you'd might recommend for jewelry and accessories product photography?
i LOve you! lol im new to photography and have so much to learn, all i know is i love taking pictures and constantly see great photography every where i look . but i cant even learn to use my new camera !! This was very helpfull and i plan to watch all your videos!
hahaha you made me and my bf laugh out loud when you talked about the Manual Mode. he always tells me to use Auto whenever I am having trouble with the Manual, and I get frustrated, but he sees it as the solution :P
I am going to purchase a Nikon P500 lol reviews are all over the map! Basically you will get amazing pics if know how to use the features!!! So, Im gonna get it.
I actually started taking pictures yesterday with my sisters new camera and I turned that "manual bullshit off" son! It's kind of cool because prior to this video I figured it was safe to experiment with manual mode and I took about 2 to 3 "test" shots after I messed with my aperture, shutter speed, and not so much ISO. Nice video!
You suggested a 50mm lens and I want to know if it's possible that my camera lens already consist of that? I have a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS. Also what is the purpose of the long black curvy attachment that snaps around the lens? Does that keep out the sun?
i love your videos i honestly do, i love taking pictures and I am starting my own lil business , any advices of what lense to get with lil budget thanks
Dude you're almost like the buddy i don't have in real life to explain me photography perfectly. Be my buddy!! lol Thanks for those instructional videos! Makes me want to grab my camera with me everywhere i go! Wait, as a firefighter, might not be a good idea at all lol.
@brunovilleneuve Might be a fine Idea. Leave it in the car until all is clear and you no longer in danger and your men can afford to have you shooting. Then you are sure to get some amazing images. =o)
what i love about your video/tutorials is that you explain, you describe, you use terminology thats realistic. You come off as real and thats awesome. Thank you for doing these videos. You have helped me ALOT! Wish i had you on speed dial! lol!
man i love your video i'm only 12 but hey i can understand what your saying! :)) my dad's gunna buy me a slr so yeah i don't know how to use slr and i'm learning from you thanks!
Great video and great tips. I'm a victim of number 2, I mostly use the auto scene recognition. I've played with settings manually but never got anything good. But your video inspires me to play around and not be confined by auto-settings.
you're a natural teacher man, thanks a million for these vids!!!! just starting off myself and its great to have this knowledge at hand!!!! i'd hate to be picking up photograpy for the first time in the days before the internet :D it must have been tough!
I am thinking of making my photography hobby realised by purchasing my first SLR camera. So I was looking around for good start up advice. And your video has been really useful. Thanks :)
Gr8 job dude... me Double like, esp. Tip 9, cause I've seen photographers (Like how you say, the Jack Ass's) fall from into the river, onto ppl, from bikes, and even see their expensive cameras tipping of their car window and coming down to our bike ;)
@crstnprd Under $90.......... HHhhhMMMmmmMmMMMMmmm.... I could only suggest Ebay right now. Look for something sturdy I will make a video about the tripod in a few days to help you better. I don't make videos for every question, so feel special, Feel VERY special =o)
Very valuable advice. Watch your step, don't be afraid, get the shot and absolutely turn off that darn AUTO MODE and last but absolutely not least. Get a 50mm if you don;t have one already. I like the 1.2s, 1.4s and the 1.8s all great lens. Without a 50mm you just don't have the gear to experience true photography, Just my opinion. And if you must only have one lens ( special ) you can make it an 85mm but either or both will give you the tool (s) to get some great shoots. Thanks man! Nice work!
I have had my camera for about 3 month now and i think its never been in auto mode. I like the feeling of total control over the picture so full manual all the time. Im even thinking about getting a old school film kinda camera just so i dont have to rely on all the digital settings. And it will really teach me how to take a good shot.
I still need to learn Manual mode. I recently got the canon rebel t1i and Its a super cool camera. I Just afraid I am gonna mess up My camera by messing with the settings,
