The body leg lock was my favorite move on lighter wrestlers in heavyweight. I wrestled in district 3 in ohio and got to districs and two of my pins in sectionals came from them and one allmost in districts i swiched out and just pinned the kid though. In ohio a body sissor with the legs is legal as long is is isn't above the sturnum.

lol what do you mean why is that hold allowed? i use it all the time, you can scissor the body just not the head, and you can figure four the head, and just like i said a minute ago you can't scissor the head. it's not that complicated lol but alot of people when using a crab ride prefer scissoring along with it.

haha .. i did that yesterday in a tournament. i was 4-0 with 4 pins and i had one last kid and he beat me earlier this year 4-2.. and that move was the only thing i could see was open and i pinned him in the 2nd period with it..

yes, a leg scissor to the body is legal. you cant figure 4 the body. its the opposite for the head.

umm, im not really sure, the move isnt potentially dangerous, its just really painfull, as u can see lol.

but yea its highchool and were in colorado, were not all that compared to states like minnisota or pennsylvania but we did pretty good at fargo last year i think

Is this Wrestling taking place in a High School? If so, isn't the punishing Bodyscissors like this winner won with, unlawful? In Minnesota High School, the wrestling teams are not allowed to use their legs to win matches or punish their opponents with. What's the scoop here?

That was my thought. My understanding is that punishing opponents with leg scissors was illegal in high school matches most places. I was wondering where this match took place.

Your understanding is correct. Leg scissors are not to be used for the purpose of punishing an opponent alone. They need to be combined with an effort to pin, or for maneuvering for back points. The winner here eventually tries to pin by grabbing both opponent's arms and holding them to the mat, but when he first started to pour on the pressure, he only held one arm, and in my mind, made no effort for the pin. Ref should have blown the whistle, issued a warning, and restarted.

im from minnesota, and the way it goes for us is: you can scissor around the body, but NOT the head; and you can figure 4 the head, but NOT the body. we have had a bunch of rules changed lately.

i'm from mn too. when doing a banana split from the leg ride, can you scissor around just one leg? or does it have to be a figure 4 in that case?
