with a q6600 and 8800 gt you should be more than fine...the 285.62 drivers are also OK.
there is something you arent telling or havent found out yet.double, triple check everything about your system over and over. you ll fix it eventually :P
I have q9400 8 gig ddr2 ram noctua chip cooler u12p and the 6950 2gig video card can play it on ultra cooler master case haf card runs at 58 degrees overclockt
I have a e6600 overclocked to 3.9 ghz on air, and 4 gigs of kingston hypetx ram and a NVIDIA gtx 280 oc edition and I play it on high-ultra settings no problem. At like 35 to 60 fps too. My motherboard plays a big part too. It's a 680i three way sli. Real nice.
@Ronin7515 go play console you shit head that card is DX9 not even close bud, even that card can still barley run Battlefield 2 in high settings, barley..
What resolution are you playing at? What card? Try lowering the resolution. If you've got 8800gt or above and play at low settings/resolution, then your card might be overheating/dying.
It's been bugging me like crazy. I even did a fresh install of win7 and the game and I get these artifacts. They occur every single time I run the game.
@imzimz Windows has nothing to do with it, make sure you use the most recent video drivers and make sure your card isn't overheating. If both these points are OK, and you still have the artifacts, you either have to lower your overclock (if you've overclocked your card) or your card just isn't up to the job. Do you experience artifacts in other games? If so, your card's just over age :).
@mennogamer559 Nope, BF3 isn't very cpu intensive at all. It's all about the GPU. The 8800 really isn't up to this game, it's just too old. The artifacts are most likely caused by old drivers, an overheating card, or just an overaged video card.

TheJusticar032caa 1 month ago
@TheJusticar032caa On very low resolution maybe. 1080p and you need at least a gtx 460 to play on high with OK frames IMO.

Ronin7515 2 months ago
@Ronin7515 it is a Q6600 and 8800GT, it's a known issue apparently that Nvidia is patching.
imzimz 2 months ago
@imzimz
Get a better GPU, that 8800GT is old now.

@Ronin7515 that is a lie because you cant run battlefield with directx9 cards
slyper8 2 months ago
@Ronin7515 Um I think you made a mistake somwhere. Battlefeild 3 doesn't supprot dx9 and the 7900 gt is only dx9.

The artifacts represents the stress the game is putting on your graphics card.

@Aleksander304 I'm playing at all low, and it's an 8800GT. It's a software issue.
