  • Good review but all the fucking UHMMMMs destroy it

  • dont talk wanna hear the sound of it :)

  • fuck you pooooooooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • thank you for the review! I'm gonna buy that guitar!

  • youre strumming hand looks freakin crazy with this web cam

  • would just like to say, awesome commentary man! haha ;)

  • Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat vs Epiphone ej200ce ?

  • too much talk and not enough action. You need to start your video playing, so we hear the sound, and then go into the description.....

  • nasty playin smh

  • hi thankyou for the review- it really help full, do you think this guitar would be good for some eric clapton and punk turned acoustic kind of guitar music? cheers

  • Hey, can anyone tell me if this guitar has a trussrod? I mean, I expect it would, and it has a trussrod cover, however I cannot find anything saying it does have one.

Fender often skimp out on trussrods on their cheaper guitars and say its to keep it 'vintage' like, however I live in a very humid climate, so no trussrod generally means useless.

    Thanks :)

  • Thanks for this review man...I'm definitely thinking about purchasing this guitar. I've always been a Martin and Taylor guitars kind of guy, I own both, but I want something smaller and easier to play for live situations. My Martin is just too big and hard to play live. I've seen some of my favorite Indie rock bands use this guitar live. Definitely getting the Hellcat soon!!!

  • @MichaelMark2683 it's a great lil friend; i used to play a sigma (70s japanese martin) d-35 live, and i will probably never go back. besides, the sigma may be worth something now haha

  • @mikespelledwrong hi is this good for things like blues and slide, thats the kind of stuff i play, have a washburn d10sce great thing, but want to upgrade to this, i like the body shape

  • a xmas present? xD

i'm thinking to buy this guitar on xmas.

do you recomend that for songs like green day?

  • @gabyartes01 you can play green day on anything, to be fair. but yeah, it's definitely good for folk punk and all that jazz.

  • @mikespelledwrong do you think that warning(green day) is a folk-punk album?

  • @gabyartes01 meh. kind of. i think it's a green day album :)

  • @gabyartes01

Fuck no, Andrew Jackson Jihad is folk punk. Defiance, Ohio is folk punk. Green Day has never been folk punk and started sucking after releasing Warning.

  • @gdrugg2006 i don't want to know what do you think about green day, i only say that i read somewhere that warning is a folk-punk album

  • My girlfriend's dad picked one of these up in perfect condition at a pawn shop for $150 , I have never been impressed with fender acoustic guitars (different story with electric) but this one caught me off guard , it sounds really nice especially for the thin body , I have a video of me playing an original song on it on my channel if anyone is further interested in the tone. I was so surprised how decent it sounds in low tunings , in this song I have the lowest string dropped all the way to B!

  • REJOICE!

  • Hi! Nice video. I ended up getting that guitar today. The first time I tuned it using the built-in tuner it worked great. But now when I turn the tuner on the light just flashes green once per second, no matter what string I play or how much I turn the machine heads. Do you know what's up with that?

  • @tegyrius you can turn the tuner on/off by pushing the button. i encourage turning it off, unless you're made of batteries or something.

  • Ahh he's a shaker. The kind that kinda go in a circle when they play. Anyways good guitar. I was mostly interested in the looks of it. I think the designs on the headstock are great. True to the period of that guit. Figured it wouldn't be thatt rich sounding though especially for 300 clams.

  • you're not left handed. :)

  • Ya,cut your string ends or you will be looking like a pirate soon, aaaarrrr. I prefer the med lights. Ernie Ball for my strat and d adderio 80/20 for my Gretsch jumbo rancher.

  • Uhmm

  • Thanks for answering my question and for the informative video. I am going to buy this guitar if I can get one of the local music shops to order it for me.

  • Great video I was wondering if the hellcat stayed in tune.

  • @drstrangelove56 mine does. that's a trait that generally varies from individual guitar to guitar, though.

  • So I went ahead and ordered the Hellcat...it should arrive early next week. Thanks for your review, I found it helpful.

  • @1withatwist i'm glad to have helped

  • I'm considering getting a Hellcat. I've read that it's difficult to find a case for this guitar. Have you had any luck? It looks to be about the same size as my Big Baby Taylor.

  • @1withatwist it's true, the case thing was kind of annoying. right now i'm using a gator lightweight dreadnought case, which has been fine so far. a bit of wiggle room, but the wideset bottom keeps it from being anything i'm concerned about.

a bit of a bummer, yes, but it's the only issue i have with this guitar.

  • @1withatwist Its a cheap guitar so just use a gigbag, but if you MUST have a hardshell, a Taylor 414CE will work.

  • cool, now I want an erectro acoustic guitar.

but I dont like big guitar so this is nice.

which one should I buy really? this guitar or Epiphone by Gibson EJ-200CE

I dont know about guitar makers so much...

  • meh. they're both made in china. take the one that sounds better, or has better fretwork.

  • At about 5:50 were you playing the first part to rejoice? If so, do you have tabs for it. I bought this guitar back in august and i absolutely love it. good video.

  • Are the back and sides solid mahogany? I thought only the top was.

  • according to the fender website, it's all mahogany.

  • Dude, I've gone through 3 long minutes and I haven't heard you play the damn guitar yet. It's annoying man. No one really cares what you think the wood types are, we're just here to hear it play.

  • i'm sorry you aren't interested, but i did this review with the intention of talking about things like that, because they happen to be important to a lot of people, myself included.

if you want to hear the guitar in action without actually knowing anything about it, check out my other videos. with one exception, it's all this guitar.

  • well, if your a real guitar player you lik to know these things before you buy a guitar. i know maybe you could sya "well just go play it" but im thinking of buying the guitar online because i dont like any of the ones for sale in my city. so hearing what this guy has to say helps a lot of people.

  • No it doesn't. You can go to the website and see the features for yourself, you don't need him to tell you.

If you're a real guitar player you only give a rats ass about how it SOUNDS, not what type of wood is the back made of! It's completely irrelevant for a guitar player. If you want to buy an acoustic guitar online (which I really don't recommend), the one important thing is still how the model can sound overall. Wood types used? That's on the website. Youtube is to play video/sound.

  • alright, slick. gotta give you a point for calling me out on the whole spec-vs.-sound thing. that said, um, tact isn't really your strong suit, is it. if you don't like it, move on. maybe update your website or something.

  • Yeah d'addarios always break on me. I always use ernie ball. Nice guitar though might get it :)

  • if u said uuummm... 1 more time i was gonnakill myself.. but it is a sweet guitar im a taylor guy but need 1 more 6er and got this 4 like 275 its alotta guitar for the money fender makes a shitty pick-up gotta fishman max. infin. for it sound sweet now also swapthe plastic bidgefor bone ud be very happy with the sound for not much money

  • this is what happens when you go in with zero preparation.

i am happy with my plastic bridge and correct grammar, but thank you for the tips.

  • your "correct grammar" huh maybe you should listen to that video you made one more time eh'

  • i think i did alright, especially seeing how "um" is not a grammatical error, but rather a byproduct of poor public speaking skills. that said, if you don't like it, you're more than welcome to watch the other reviews of this guitar.

  • Solid Mahogany Top.... Mahogany laminate back and sides :P You claimed it was all solid mahogany.

  • obviously a slip of the tongue

"yeah bro, this is really light for a solid body..."

  • that guitar has a fucking nice neck i have a left handed one

  • yayyyyyy mike mike mike mike mike!

  • don't think i didn't see that first comment, matt.

  • In my defense, i was going to say more guitar playing but then I watched the rest and saw that there was some sooooo I decided to recant my previous statement. sorry...my bad

  • Comment removed

  • hey thanks man... i didnt think youd do it that quick. shweeeet

  • dude thanks, im seriously considering this guitar

  • EXP Custom lights come on the guitar and they are 11s. They are 11s because Tim is used to having 11s since his 1960's Fender Acoustic does not have a truss rod and thicker gauge strings will warp the neck.

  • EXP is made by d'addario. i don't know if you were trying to debunk me or what, but i'm right either way.

you're right about the reasoning behind the light strings for the original instrument, but since this guitar has a truss rod, you can put on the heavier gauge strings, which are louder and generally sound better, at least for my playing style.

  • a tiny bit lengthy but really helped me decide how to spend my money, i deciding between this or a Fender California Sonoran
