To still just grab a guitar and blue's out Satisfaction gives insight as to how well KR knows his 'stuff'. A blues album of Stones classics by Keith would be an instant classic. Think about it Keith ! (as if he'd ever find or read this) (and if his arthritis hasn't progressed passed the point of pulling it off- bummer disease)
It would great if Richards recorded a blues acoustic album, he is great just read his Life too. However, not even Richards can match the blues by the blacks in the 30s and 40s.
it has great sound and little body. like little guitars like gibson l0,l1
by the way it's collings baby. and it costs 3000euro in germany. I dont have that money. but i will steal and kill, because i really want it. or maby i'l take martin o18. i dont know now)
i remember seeing this video in music class in school and it was the first time i had ever heard him play. he's the reason i play guitar now. i've been looking everywhere for this. thank you for posting it.
Just finished reading life by mr. Richards and I must say he truly is the living embodiment of everything that rock & roll stands for. Amazing player, legendary man. Thanks for swinging music in the right direction Keef!!
Keith's book "Life" is a great read. If you're old like me, get the 853 page large print version. SENSATIONAL. Makes you appreciate just how hard this guy works at keeping the ROLLING STONES band together. He's a whole smarter than you think. Yes, he's a junkie, smack and bump are his choice. Amazing life !!
Everyone says he is ugly. I think he has the face of a wise old sage. Something like an indian shaman that has seen everything. His eyes shine like he knows a really cool secret! What a great musician.
@mindstormsabrewin Not always. 30 years ago he was not that bad looking but--too much partying has a way of degrading one's DNA and cellular structure. As a musician, however, he is simply the best.
I remember the first time I heard "Satisfaction". I said to my friend, "man that's a cool sounding Sax" LOL. I was totally clueless about electric guitars and it took a while for my friend to convince me what was actually going on :)
@madFlam1 It's amazing how despite being one of musics biggest John Lennon's playing has been underappreciated. listen to his rhythm parts on' All my lovin' or his solo on' You can't do that ' fucking brilliant !!better than keef in my opinion and that's just his guitar playing I like some stones but.... well you know.
@70goldtop wow what a stunning counter arguement, I am surprised you can spell poetry! you don't have a clue about the blues, as Black musicians used to say about the stones, plastic soul man plastic soul you are a typical stones fan I rest my case!
@70goldtop Yeah nice 4 hour pause while you ran around trying to come up with a reply, lol and look what it is ! what do you expect from a loser that considers the stones blues! great music selection by the way how is the abba box set ?
@jsilence418 Does the Rolloing Stones music scare you?I bet it does because you're a little pussy. You want to be butt buddies with Jimmy Page but you don't like Keith Richards.Typical Led Zep bandwagon jumping fruitcake who can't think for himself.
@jsilence418 I'll let you have the last word because you're infant minded.Like I said before,go practice your arpeggios and diminished scales wannabe bluesman
@70goldtop another idiot to be taught, you know fuck all of the blues ! the stones had no credibility as blues artists, none! that's why they got Mick Taylor! they had no good instrumentalists so he upped their value with his virtuosity and knowledge of real blues! even he thought they were awful when he joined! you don't know fuck all just another insecure big mouth on youtube! 70 gold top lol boy what wonderful music you would make just like a fire in a pet store!
i just love this man. Despite his self-inflicted, uh, injuries, Keith's humor and humanity shines through. And to think he's been willing to play second fiddle (or guitar--nothing second about that) to that strutting rooster all these decades.
Keith Richards is the accumulated sponge of blues, soul, rock, all rolled into a ball and spread like butter on a piece of toast called the Rolling Stones.
The King of Cool had to deal with the Queen Bitch of Rock 'n Roll for almost 50 yrs! I ran into Keef in a Caribbean airport, sat at a bar and he actually bought me drinks, and cool doesn't do it justice enough; his picture should be right next to the definition in Webster’s.
C'mon, he loves Mick. The guy's nearly taken a bullet for Mick, numerous times, on stage.
By that, I mean, gigs in the 1970s, you'd get lunatics rushing the stage going for Jagger, and Keith would step in, and take on the guy, quite a lot of the time, getting hit.
Gig in 1983, in New York, a lunatic rushed the stage, going for Jagger again. Richards spotted him, and wacked him with his guitar!
Truth is, the only musician in the 1960s and 1970s who had more lunatic, psychotic, drugged up, hero worshipping fans than John Lennon was Mick Jagger, and the only reason Jagger is still alive, in truth, is probably Keith Richards
Said in an interview about 5 years ago "I've always got micks back on stage, always have had. I'll always take the bullet"
this song came to him a a dream. he accidentally left his tape recorder one night and left it on and happened to play/sing a bit of this song in his sleep
Great! Keith is the ultimate stoner - on another plane entirely than the rest of the world. I love him. And how's your satisfaction rating these days? xoxo
