Nice! I particularly like your idea of adding extra reflective tape. Does your grip on the bar ends get a bit dicey when your hands get sweaty or when riding in the rain? I've decided my bike needs at least some minimum mud guards; I'm getting too muddy on wet days - my bag does too.
