I'm a female gamer, and I play one of the worst games for trash talking. Gears is the entire reason I bought my xbox, and I love it. Fact is, if you can't keep up with the guys, and their shit talking, it's probably because your not very good. Play with the guys, hold your own, and get respect. Fact is, most females I've met on XBL, are either looking for a date, or think they're a bad ass, and quit when another girl does better. I like the fact that I play with all guys.
Your idea that the event is sexist is pretty laughable. Most women prefer the company of women socially. Just like most men prefer the company of men socially. That doesn't make them sexist, it makes them human.

I agree with your argument, but one way to keep a target populace interested, especially a group that does not dominate a community, is to make them feel special. That way, they keep purchasing your goods in the long run, which is basically what this all comes down to in the end: increased revenue. All microcrap is doing here is reaching out to more people, in whatever way necessary, so they can make more money. It's a pretty simple business strategy, and it's working. End of story

I've known many girls in the past turned off by gaming due to the "omg, ur a grl?" chatter coming through the console on PC games like Call of Duty or World of...(ugh) Warcraft.
My guess is that the group was formed as a way to ignore that and just to meet fellow female gamers instead of just being an exclusive gaming club or crew (like a clan or something). Gamerchix isn't a place to "hide" from trash talk. It's a great place to connect with other girls. Seriously, doesn't want to play with people you can relate to once in awhile? Ya know, i play alot of gears...not too many girls play that game so its shocking when a girl is on my team, they usually dont do that great, the gaming experience consists of SPAWN RUN DIE SPAWN RUN DIE SPAWN RUN DIE repeat, my girlfriend would agree with this as we play together on Gears through system link on 2 identicle 60" samsungs, she plays just as hard as i do, if not more harder then most females i've played with.

I don't understand why guys would make negative comments to girls on Live. I've been trying to find girl gamers my entire xbox career to game with. My gf plays Gears, which is way more awesome than COD, MW2 is all hype thats it, you paid $200 for the extra night vision googles and to feel like you didnt get raped you tell everyone how awesome MW2 is, me and my gf have been gaming since the day of birth and i know when to call em, i dont fall into hype nor do i ever buy any console or game the day it comes out, maybe in a few months after the hype has died and everyone comes back down from that shot of ego b/c they got night vision googles.

to me, girls who play on xbl are like guys. Its just, whatever. Trash talkers are always there, but you can avoid them, and games like L4D you can kick players out. If a girl complains about a guy calling them a girl, its just probably a 13 year old who just started reaching puberty, as I dont see anyone sle who would try and harras someone by their sex

I've known many girls in the past turned off by gaming due to the "omg, ur a grl?" chatter coming through the console on PC games like Call of Duty or World of...(ugh) Warcraft.
My guess is that the group was formed as a way to ignore that and just to meet fellow female gamers instead of just being an exclusive gaming club or crew (like a clan or something). Doesn't seem as sexist to me, just as an anit-idiot device since it seems that guys like to diss on girls more or...ask them out online?

Gamerchix isn't a place to "hide" from trash talk. It's a great place to connect with other girls. Seriously, doesn't want to play with people you can relate to once in awhile? I stil constantly play with guys all the time. It hasn't seperated me from the rest of xbl at all. i also read your blog response and I am a proud gamer but I also fall under the subcatagories of a proud female and black gamer. When I read about the Ladies Night I couldn't help but piss myself. It's about as sexist and discriminating as it can get. I mean, wtf? What are females gonna do on Ladies Night? I agree, even though I am a male gamer, I think that exploiting the fact that you're the opposite sex and making a decicated event for yourselves just feeds into what you were trying to prove in the first place in the most opposite of ways. And that point is that female gamers are just as good, if not better at games than males are.
