  • Well done! if it was that Concordia captain Shettino, he would have parachuted down.

  • @onecubed1 epic comment

  • Aviate, navigate, then communicate. Fly the aircraft first, then worry about everything else. Well done, flight crew.

  • R.I.P Bird ;(

  • Imagine being the passengers sitting on that ride and looking at the engine

  • Angry birds!!!

  • thats why pilots are paid good money. this may not happen to pilots in all of thier career, but as soon as there is a problem the training kicks in.next time you are worried about flying, think of this video and sit back relax and put your feet up knowing we have men kike this keeping you safe. respect

  • Utmost respect for the professionalism and skill of pilots. :)

  • It was actually a bird strike after VR, WOW!!!!

  • ...and everyone onboard had to buy new travel pants .

  • no humans were injured or harmed in making this video

  • Very professional.

First fly the aircraft ...... especially after take off and then Mayday call and engine stop ......

and then a very good landing with ONE engine!

And the radio ........ very clear and no sound of fear!!!!!!!

    Well done fellows!!!!!!

  • @ThePilot314 They did a good job, but I wonder about their having maintained a steep two-engine climb angle after one engine failed. When the RH engine started choo-chooing, I would think a pilot's instinct would be to preserve airspeed and lower the nose just a little....depending on altitude requirements of that runway of course....ground obstacles and such. Just sayin.

  • @JetMechMA You are right. May be there happened a little confusion on board

i.e. the P.I.C. first maintained in the actual cilmb angle as a normal take off,

till he came to the clear decison EMERGENCY / go around due engine stop by bird strike. It happens again and again that the last "programm" runs a liitle time longer in brain till all movements changes to the new situation.

BUT you are right. I - for myself - would have lower the nose for fixing the airspeed.

    Anyway also a good landing

  • MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY wait todays friday! :O

  • GEEEEZ guy....PUT YOUR NOSE DOWN BECAUSE OF REDUCED THRUST!!!! WHERE'D YOU LEARN TO FLY?....WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR SEAT OF THE PANTS FLYING SKILLS????

  • @JetMechMA fly simulator champion?

  • @jurek323 What does, "fly simulator champion" mean?

  • mayday mayday we have been attacked by a bird :P

  • PROFESSIONALISM AND OFCOURSE THE DIVINE HAND

  • @anuptena the divine always !!!!! "I WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS"-Jesus Christ,..of course if we have HIM with us also !!!! (somebody in that plane HAD HIM STRONG) signed and approved by CHUCK NORRIS

  • Poor birdie :/

  • 76 people are the BIRD'S family!

  • how long where they airborne? what about the landing weight? im pretty impressed in how they handled the situation, very well done !

  • is it just me or does that engine flaming out sound at 0:09 sound alot like an old steam locomotive?

  • @gtafan2006: is it just me or does that engine flaming out sound at 0:09 sound alot like an old steam locomotive?

JM: In the trade we call it "choo-choo"....yes, like a steam locomotive. The engine didn't flame out, it recieved damage to the gas path which caused a disruption of air flow as you could see. It was clearly producing at least partial thrust. The bird impacted the inlet at exactly the wrong time, maximum rpm. Still, it's hard to believe that a single bird could do that.

  • good job very very good jod! two thumbs up up! to the pilot, great job!

  • MAYDAY,MAYDAY,MAYDAY, we're crashing in the sky!

  • This was on a add on tv for aircrash investagation how did this small bird do this?

  • infact that bird was my pet budgie that i lost at an air port

  • @looker4 it was after vr

  • real pilot !

  • I WOULD HATE TO BE ON THAT FLIGHT!!

  • Thompson pilots are really really good!

  • this is exactly why the pilots get paid for excellent work by the pilots..

  • we should not cry because the bird is death but we have to be happy that he lived here on earth. poor little bird hope you have peace.

  • How are the pilots so CALM???

  • @BananaT3arz 65% of their training is to learn to fly the other 35% they learn what to do in specific emergencies so they know what to do in specific ocasions, and it's not a big deal for them now that they know what to do.

  • Did they find the FDR or CVR of the bird? ;)

  • @pault44 Funny!

  • These are the boring landings after a strike that nobody remembers.... The Pilots are heroes everytime they land and bring their passengers safe and sound... kudos to them...

  • Hats off to that pilot keeping his cool throughout the whole thing. That's incredible.

  • @Skyway172 He's a pilot, thats what they're trained for!

  • hope the bird is ok

  • RIght place right time !!nice vid!

  • Can you imagine looking out of the window just after take off to see the engine coughing fire like that? Pants = shat.

  • R.I.P. the Bird :(

  • This is why we shouldnt play Angry Birds at airports

  • Amazing full capture vtr. But how and who made this multi camera editing?

  • I like the way the Manc control tower tries to back heel the Mayday to Liverpool, lmao.

  • Professionals to the end...good work!

  • the brits all so calm under pressure

  • @1860george This Is Because, This Emergency Is Not That Dangerous, As An Aircraft Can Travel Easiley With One Engine

  • @joaofbi4321 A birdstrike in take off IS dangerous!

  • @joaofbi4321 I mean, you ARE right that in the end it wasn't that dangerous a situation, but I dare you to sound as calm as they did at 0:20 when your engine has just failed at the worst possible moment and you're a few hundred feet off the ground with the right engine spitting flames, no hope of a runway if the left one goes out and you're not yet 100% sure what the problem is...

  • i think the bird would be roasted :)

  • kinda crazy how they say air travel is the most safe mode of transpotration

  • @bjcandfriends Nobody got hurt, did they? Looks pretty safe to me.

  • @LearPilot1020 planes crash on average every week around the world with usual fatalities

  • @bjcandfriends, air travel is safest PER MILES TRAVELLED, because planes rarely fall out of the sky during the long miles between takeoff and landing. It's a contrived statistic, based on that skewed criteria. It just sounds good. It ignores contingent car travel on the ground to ENABLE flying (i.e. passengers & ground crew driving to the airport). Crashes per engine startup, fatal vs nonfatal, days before death, embolisms, ecological pollution, all factor in diverse conclusions.

  • I like the bit when they say we can confirm it was a bird strike as we have the remains of your engine and the bird!

  • Good work.

  • Just to be clear, the bird did not survive.

  • @crispycritterz Right is the bird ok? Did he make an emergency landing as well?

  • @crispycritterz Noooooooooo *-(

  • Fuel injection problems...

  • Mayday !

  • Comment removed

  • A BIRD

  • mayday but todays is monday!

  • todays friday?

  • the 75 dislikes where on the plane...

  • concorde in 2:20

  • Thomson 263H aircrew = effing professional!

  • fucking bird could kill about 100 people

  • Russian subtitles, please

  • Comment removed

  • @wszetecznik They can fly on one engine even on takeoff because when they are doing the take off calls V2 is the speed they can fly on one engine should their be a failure like just so they wont stall and crash

  • Pilots great job! However all the lpanes for commercial and military use has to get certified on "one engine flight capability" so there was no huge risk here.

  • just imagine being on that plane when that happens :O

  • I've watched this a dozen times and I am amazed by the clarity and calmness of the First Officer and Captain. I'd fly with them anytime!

  • Does anyone know where the footage came from? Was this on a TV program or something?

  • are the birds ok?

  • One engine landings are pretty much routine. I had to do it in our Baron, then later in our Citation Ultra. They did not know what else may go wrong so the huge concern at first. Yes, it takes a bit to turn of the bad engine. There are steps you go through. Now hurry and turn off the good engine. Hope that helps.

  • Why did it take the pilots so long to shut down the right engine?

  • @bradowpc I am not sure but I think there is a shut down procedure, you dont just turn a key to switch it off.

  • no body mentions the poor bird!!!

  • @howsey182 who gives a damn about the bird when compared to the lives of 100-200 people

  • @jeffhardylysia its was just a light hearted commend!! the actual chances of the air craft exploding mid air, crashing in to the airport killing everyone with in a 3 mile radious is very slim lol thousands of pilots/planes and passengers experiance this daily, most of the time the bird is the only living thing to know about it as smaller birds dont even cause the engine to flame out. in the video it was a larger bird which cause the enigne to miss fire!

  • @howsey182 yeah I guess your right

  • @jeffhardylysia lol mind i bet the pilot thought "arrr for f**k sakes the rear wheels have just left the sodding runway!!"

  • @howsey182 screw the poor bird.... 1 bird does not = 200 human lives. ;o)

  • @howsey182 shut the fuck up you stupid kid , humans > birds

  • @supergamebros0595 dude get over it the passengers did!!

  • @howsey182 nobody knew till afterwards

  • oops i was wrong lol

  • @THEGODZSPEED thumps up why that, it's they work, it's pilot flijing and they are pay for that ......

  • when there is a mayday does that mean all flight near them must not take off?

  • @nbaalltheway No it means they have priority over other traffic - In this case they flew to a hold and returned to the airfield so in that time, aircraft would have been allowed to depart but on their return, they would be number 1 for landing regardless of how many aircraft were ahead of them in the hold. Which in Manchester isn't that many anyway when compared to the stacks at somewhere like Heathrow or Gatwick

  • I love all of this, the tower and plane its cool mate, thanks.

  • I like how in all emergencies the pilots are so calm. I know they have to be but i would shit my pants

  • @nerd1925 if you think about it what is there to be scared off? the plane is undamaged, they had to shut down one engine but the plane can fly perfectly well on the one remaining engine. they are trained for one engine landings and I would think they have done it for real a few times.

  • The shot of the tower at 1:10 looks like the next shot should be Tracy Island . . .

  • this is the perfect example for the saying "shit happens" holy!

  • What a Polite captain!

  • poor birdie

  • Impressive!!! Well done crew

  • Good job by all, should be textbook on how to handle a situation like that.

  • @otef434 No wonder everybody lived they were English Pilots..

French would have gone out dumped feul then flew on 1 engine and then everybody goes into the ocean.

  • @Dorisequador Lmao, where do you get such things? People like you amaze me.

  • @Ereinset Fly air france enjoy they suck ass and go down into the ocean alot because of defective computers and sticking hydrolics at 57 thousand feet. There cure was to fly lower to get less cold into the wings. Till they could change them without loosing to much money (Money over safety) and loosing a hole plane over the ocean which has happend alot. Poor people they didn't even have a chance. Air France new the problems... To save money they didn't fix them right away.

  • @Dorisequador Air France are a perfectly reputable airline that conform to all safety regulations with regards to aircraft maintennance. I would question where you get your information anyway as you state they have defective computers and sticking hydraulics at 57,000ft?? What type was flying at 57,000ft? A 747 with no passengers will struggle to cruise above 10000ft less than that and even if it could, the tempurature difference in that 10000ft would be minimal. I smell a "keyboard hero" in you

  • @flyingturnip1 They do not fix anything right away they lost plane after plane then started saying we have to fix it.after being grounded.

  • On takeoff he's TOM 253H but suddenly it becomes TOM 263H from somewhere.

  • why they dont fucking evacuate them??!!

  • @Lekcheto

    Evacuate who?

  • @zly81

    passengers...

  • compressor stall,,, most times if will stop if throttled back to idle then add power

  • The birdseye view would be disturbing.

  • Well the manged to get to V2.

  • @THEGODZSPEED

    F/o?

  • in the bird point of view, this was a plane strike!

    xDDD

  • Well filmed! Good job!

  • concord 2:17 :D

  • In the future, the tower control has to make contact to the birds too!!

  • oooh shit !!

  • may 1 may 1 may 1

  • Great job tower and pilots.

  • damn fine touchdown, well done captain!

  • R.I.P bird (and almost everoneon the plane)

  • It's incredible these planes fly with only one engine!

  • @FhjNelson So true! There is a short documentary on youtube, about the engines which are used on Boeing 777's, and now even more powerful ones on the A380 and coming Dreamliner. On the boeing 747 testbed, they put the one new engine on to test it, and the other 3 are the same. During one stage of the flight, they flew the whole aircraft- a jumbo..on only ONE engine :) Not bad hey? llook up ' General electric biggest engine for B-777' Enjoy!

  • @FhjNelson Lol the boeing 747 jumbojet and the Airbus A380, both have 4 engines, but the engines are so strong, that at low altitude they can run on 1 engine rather easily.

  • lol birdy go bye-bye.

  • poor bird?! lmao

  • 74 birds disliked this video

  • They should be a birdproof airplane...isn't? Or the bird be a boingproof...something like that....

  • ha, i remember seeing this on granaga reports and it was big, turned out that my friend was on it. aperently they got told 2 minuits it hapend and got told they were returning to manchester for emergancy landing but they were airborne for 40 min before they could land and then when they did land the plain drifted to the right on touch down because of the power on the left engine.

  • Very nice video - nicely edited. I felt like I was in the tower observing this first-hand! But one thing I don't understand - Is it normal to call a mayday when losing only one of two engines? Single engine-outs happen with some regularity, and flight crews rehearse this very situation every six months. I'd have thought this was a pan-pan situation. (I ask because I don't know.) REALLY good video though!

  • @THEGODZSPEED capt & hs copilot has to work hand in hand to bring the a/c back onto the ground. it might be the copilot who's flying the aircraft n capt who's doing the radio. if one flying, the other one is completing the checklist n securing the engine and checking other abnormalities, actually nobody does more. they all work in a team. At least that's how i ve been trained

  • @THEGODZSPEED what about the co-pilot and the cabin crew?

  • this is an 757

  • R.I.P. that brave flying soul.

  • @AirlinePilotZJ

its not brave soul, its fucking flying shit that must die

  • @asssddfdsa But birds are so peaceful dumbfuck.

  • That was Bieber and he was fire in the engine Bieber dead !! :-)

  • Corcorde in the background! 2:19

  • @JohnMaxGriffin You're right! Must be an older video :)

  • @FinalEx3cution Can't exactly tell which airline, looks like BA though :)

  • Comment removed

  • @JohnMaxGriffin you fail in spelling concorde<----- see thats how you do tha sh*t

  • @lemsterterror1 Calm down man it's a typo, they tend to happen. Good job tho lol you did it better than me

  • @lemsterterror1 Before you criticize others check your own English, first letter of your sentence should begin with a capital "Y", Concorde is a name so it should begin with a capital "C", and also there should be a comma after that sentence, there is no such word as "tha", lastly the end of your comment should have a full stop. ;)

  • @musicbruv i dont write inglish so very good cuz my mother language is dutch.

but im sure tha is ancient inglish. you know from the time the world dindt suck ass...

  • @lemsterterror1 I have met Dutch people and have been to Holland, all the Dutch people I met spoke perfect English, maybe you are just dumb.

  • @musicbruv did you even read what i wrote, i wrote i cant write inglish very good nothing about speaking wich by the way goes very good i had a A+ in school for it. is it just me or are you just dumb.

P.S. did you smoke pod when you where in holland. yes? good aint it... i added commas and ends to my sentences now happy it only took 2.5 seconds of my life away.

  • FUCK THAT BIRD glad it died.

  • who thinks that the flames emitting from the engines looks freaking awesome

  • They should deserve the publicity of Sullenberger

  • Comment removed

  • Who cares how they land? As long as they get back on the ground! That plane was on fire! Lucky people! cool pilot!

  • lol

  • Great work by all concerned. But did anyone know that "Runway 09 at Liverpool is available" decodes as "can you go somewhere else we're on our coffee break?!" LOL

  • 7:31 haha Firecrew:oh WOW what is it? its huge! damn thats a big AC Pilot: Thats an engine dumbass -,-

  • @evald80 It was engine 2 which was hit, not engine 1

  • mmm bird bbq

  • 2:18 The Concorde :D Sadly it dosnt run anymore D:

  • Free chicken anyone?

  • In Soviet Russia - they would have crashed the plane.
