It worked for me today on ps3 but you gotta play through the game again, delete the game data utility for dragon age 2 then install the game again. Then it should work though you must create a new game your old files are useless, but once you do this glitch you wont want to use them again.

@HeWhoPwnsNoobs Because as you level up, your armor stays the same level, but your enemies, allies, and yourself become stronger, so the armor isn't as good as it would be for the level you were at before. Thats the disadvantage of this glitch, so try to get a weapon with the "improves with level up" effect

@Monstermaster007 On what monster said about the leveled up items, most of the weapons you get from the downloadable packs are improve with level. There is a mage's staff, a bow, a sword and shield, and 2 daggers. I was a rouge with the bow and dealt tons of damage, and then used Aveline, Isabela, and Merill. It was quite the combination, and all the weapons kept 5 stars.

it has been patched. but there is till a way to do it. you have to go to ur memory on ur hard drive and and press "clear cache" this will clear all patches for any games. once u do this just go to the game and do not update. after u have done the glitch. go ahead and quit. you can update the next time u get on. remember this will (erase all updates but u can update them again.) hope this helps it did 4 me.

For anyone (xbox 360) who wants to take off the update go to ur system settings and go to memory, then press "y" over ur hard drive and click clear system cache and it will clear all patches for every game NOTE: for this game, if u clear the patch, u cannot play a game u made when u updated the system, it will tell u to download the patch but u can start a new one without interference

You can stil do it. You have to delete your hard drive cache and when you play the game DONT download update. The bad thing is if you already updated it you have to start from the beginning of the game.

Might want to add in the description, this kind of affects the later side quest, "Night Terrors" As you level up to 50 say, so does your party. In Night Terrors, you have to face two of your party members.......Let's just say at level 50, with the right skills and build you can die by them easily with one blow. It was not a fun time...

@TheFinalParadox7 I understand but when you get killed there you can re-load your autosave from a few minutes back which takes you back. All you have to do is create a save right outside the rooms now knowing that you can't defeat your teamate and the least you could do is take their gear away (what I did). To make it even easier is to use a Maker's Sigh potion on them but is not necessary. Doesn't matter if they are level 20 or 50, if you at least take their gear away they should be no problem.

@TheRedDevils071 Help with what? The enemies are on a scale, so they level with your character, and the stars next to an item indicate it's usefulness to your current level. (two stars is average for your level.)

This is why people should be careful before they exploit a glitch.... (that and data corruption)

(except for Bianca) This is how the game is, If you leave your equipment alone and just play the game through, the number of stars decrease as your level increases. The Staff of Parlathan starts out as a 5 star staff, as you level up, however, the stars disappear as the staff becomes practically useless in your mage's hands. So the stars is part of the game; used to encourage people to find better armor and weapons.
