To all the disgruntled foreigners complaining about Bjørgens asthma medicine.. Norway has owned the ski sport since it was concieved.. in Norway btw.

Winter sport giants like the US and Russia, Germany etc. all fall behind the tiny nation in the north. So maybe you whiners need this medicine thing to complain about, to feel better about your own athletes. Not that it matters, Norway will keep its indisputed place on the throne.

She wants this medicine to be open for everyone, so no one can say that "if only I could use the same medicine" bla bla bla.

Then nobody would have any exuses any more. How healthy it is to open medicine people really dont need is another discussion! I dont think WADA will open midicine for sick people for everyone, but we can only hope they make an exeption for cymbicort.

@KIllakmet Of course it helps Einstein, is there any doubts about this? The point here is that it doesent give you any better breathing capasity than a non asmathic person. Thats why it is allowed. If you know something about this issue that the higest level of lunge experts in WADA and FIS dont, so send them an e-mail. It seems like many polish "youtube experts" knows a lot about this issue :-)

@Toskengundersen listen Einstein....there is a reason beta2 agonists arent allowed in sports...and to say that this drug only gives you the lung capacity of a healthy human is a lewyerd up statement not a medical/pharmaceutical fact (alveoli can exchange more oxygen ) ....and the "experts" at I dont know where can be bought....we ll see if this drug will be allowed for long :) and I REALLY dont care about kowa...my favorite just won the sprint world cup (PETRA, PETRA) :D

Second of all. Symbicort gives people suffering from strong asthma the ability to breathe like a "normal" person again. Offcourse it gives results, thats the whole point. But it does not give you any better capasity than a healthy athlete. Thats why WADA allowes it if you have under 80% breathing capasity. Do you think WADA is making this up?

@Toskengundersen First of all, asthma medication can give you better breathing capasity than a healthy person. Healthy person rarely has a 100% breathing capasity. I have taken asthma medication - and it did give me more endurance... That's why it's forbidden.

Second of all. And this is what I honestly think. When it comes to skiing, WADA is humble towards Norway. Same way FIA is humble towards Ferrari.

@Mikaelbartleby There are a couple of big mistakes in your argumentation. There are MANY athletes in the Cross Country circuit that uses the exact same medicine. Why only focus on Marit and Norway? Could it have anything with do with Kowa? Just wondering?

Another thing. Cymbicort permission is given to a lot of athletes in Cycling, running, triathlon, swimming etc. Is the "wada corrution" the same in Australia, G.B, France, USA, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Sweden etc? Again, just wondering?

Should a nearly blind man be allowed to wear glasses? Should a diabetes athlete not be allowed to use insuline etc etc? Difficult questions. But my point here is that Marit is not doing anything wrong. From my point of view it seems like most polish poeple think she is a cheater that us using doping. That is not the case.

To all you fools that think she is on drugs: Justyna kowalczyk accused Marit Bjorgen of benefiting from an approved asthma medication. The medication does not enhance the size of the lungs for asthmatics, merely cleans out crud for those with roughly 20% reduced power. Norway has a squeaky clean dope free record, whereas Justyna does have doping infractions for which she has been suspended.

@ulf123456 shes may very well be the best cheater of all time. She admited that she takes a drug Sybicort which is banned. Symbicort increases her lung functions by 20% FIS let her take this drug. Most of FIS representatives are Norwegian or Scandinavians and they do nothing with this. I'm not suprised. This is big business machine but with sport competition, honor, and fair-play it has nothing to do.

I look at the facts. Symbicort is a medicine for asthma. Expands the bronchial tubes so that they can accept more oxygen. So if this drug does not affect the form of a player so WHY THEY TAKE IT? Ask yourself why there is so much asthmatics in skijing(20%) When you have asthma you can not cultivate competitive sport,overwork and every breath of frigid air can kill you. Grow up

There are a lot of things on the WADA list like fxs. heart medicine, and Marihuana. I dont think Marihuana gives you any advantage in c.country? Do you really think that every athlete that claims they have astma is given permission? You cant just go to a doctor and get a paper that says "i have astma." There are very strikt rules for this. You have to go through a lot of testing made by lounge experts on the higest level. And it is not enough to only have asthma, you have to have under 80% lunge capasity. Developing sore astma in endurance sport is unfortunatly a quite common thing. If we should exlude these athletes is another disussion
