  • The Dickies fucking rule.

  • Ron WILDMAN goudie sent this my way. Great band.

  • I like all the comments angry that the cover isn't exactly like the original.

  • I had the honor of playing a show with these guys and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Fuck the haters!

  • the person who thinks this is pathetic is fuckin laaaaaame

    fuck off troll!

  • These guys are incredible. I just wanted to hear the song from Killer Klowns from Outer space, but I keep clicking new songs by them and their all awesome. Did they write the themes to Gigantor and banana Splits too? Why are they so awesome yet I've never heard of them?

  • @bosshog7169 Though some great groups found success in the past (not often now) there have always been acts that never get their due...they just never even get close to the attention and respect they deserve.

  • Seeing the Dickies this Saturday at the Key Club in Hollywood....Great live band.

    This video brings back memories.

  • the dickies are fucking great group live.

  • I've seen this band once, it was the best gig I have ever been to.

  • one of the best covers of all time. who cares if you cover a song in the same style as the original??!!!

  • I am a huge Moody Blues fan and I fucking love this cover. The Dickies were one of the finest American punk bands period. Never got to see them live but I hear that they put on one awesome show.

  • Brilliant!

  • i like this one they are not die they are still a live they are the best i like all there song's

  • Dickies shows were amazing, easily the best sounding 'punk' band from that era. I saw Leonard one night at the Roxy warning everyone in front to stop spitting on him, (he hated it while other singers played right through it) he warned them again, then whipped out his unit and pee'd all over the pit as they broke into Gigantor

  • forget the runaways

the dickies need a bio pic

  • Best post.

  • ty

i first saw the dickies at the mabuhay back in 79

best band on the night...i dont even remember who else played with them

the best punk bands had a sense of humor about the music and themselves

  • @brabon1 holy crap! that's where i saw them as well!! It was in OC, right? They made me laugh and laugh....

  • @pseedie no...the mabuhay was a club in sf....best club for punk

never got into the oc scene...too many surf punks

  • how do you walk around with that stick so far up your butt

  • len and stan still going strong. best ever

  • i'm a fan of both the Moody Blues and the Dickies. Did they (the Dickies) put this on a cd?

  • It's on Dawn of the Dickies if I remember correctly.

  • Guess what LADY GAGA not very original really, we who were there when the DICKIES first came around knew there would be many pretenders after the crown....she'll be using penis puppets next!

  • Apparently the drummer in this video died from heart problems this past September.

  • Did they write this?

  • no its a moody blues cover

  • rocks

  • this IS one badass cover of nights in white satin...

  • Puke.

  • the dickies? whats that for gay name

  • Ever heard of The Queers?

  • lmfao, dont tell me there is a band thats called the queers

  • It is a band that's called The Queers

  • LMFAO, let me guess, they are gay?

  • No, they have a sense of irony

  • no way

  • Or maybe they're having an orgy now, right backstage with the Jonas Brothers and Metro Station.

...Belive what the fuck you want.

  • LOL dude, no fucking way ?!

  • Fucking way, Lady Gaga is pretty sure a part of it too.

  • nub

  • its intresting on how some songs are created for films does anyone agree with me?

  • Related videos: Milli Vanilli?

  • Lmao! Why'd you have to bring my attention to that?

  • horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's just a music. Fuck labels. Listen to the music if you like it.

  • I think that you are right. They might very well be a great punk band, I guess I just am not a punk fan. So I must say I would like to resign my comment prior to this one. I'm by no means a music hater, just doesnt tickle my fancy I guess. I apologize nontheless, music is music, and if someone likes it, it's served it's purpose........I still say this sucks though.

  • Then why are you even listening to it? If you think they suck? I personally think that if you dont like something you should just keep your mouth shut .

If you think this band has no talent then thats good for you, I see by your profile that you love pink floyd, Thats cool but I personally think that their lyrics are garbage, but thats just me, You might think the same of this band, but you are pretty much dead wrong, because this band is pretty much meant to be funny. Now go away please

  • i seen them the other day at wickerman ! :D and they played this song ... THEY WERE GREAT!! x

  • saw them last year at the rebellion blackpool BRILLIANT, a must see band,

  • curtonya says "no talent" thats a crock! they are one of thee most underated punk bands."no talent"...maybe get your hearing checked.you like em oryou dont is what i notice.anyone remeber the movie "18 again" this is the band from the college show...

  • thank you for your opinion

  • is that chuck wagon on stage? sad thing about the dickies is their members keep dying.... Except stan lee and leonard! wish I'd get to see them live sometime...

  • i saw them live on march 20 at the key club!

    it was amazing.

you should go see them. they put on a great show!

  • Who else is dead? I know Billy is alive.

  • Cant wait to see them at wickerman festival...Legends :):):)

  • YES! Maybe ill see you there! :P

  • The Dickies in Narrenkostümen. So etwas liebe ich!

  • oops i jus realized he was sayin i love her yes i love her at one point. that was pretty clear i guess.

  • sorry i dont listen to this type of music but i jus stumbled upon this song and i was wondering do other people know what they are saying? i didn't hear a single word clearly enough the entire song. Like the singer had some kinda accent or somethin, but do fans actually know the words when they listen to the song?

  • Well...I imagine this band's fans could easily know the lyrics, and many many other people as well...since this song is by The Moody Blues from 1967... but it sounds just a tad different...! ;o)

And the nutty singer is just a guy from the San Fernando Valley...the Dickies are a great quirky talented band from the late 70s/early 80s. Cool huh?

  • This Is So Good It Hurts! The DICKIES Are Legends, And Should Be Respected As Such! The Best Most Fun Live Band Going For Over 30 Years. And This(Like All The Covers They Do) Is Better Than The Original! I LOve The DICKIES, Classics!

  • Fuck this is awesome

  • ah, the memories :)

  • To David and Emergency,

people like you don't get it and never will.

Now back to the Kennedy compound with you!

  • i have been into punk since i was 7 and i get it but this is crap from the word go

  • Inheriting your sister's Flock of Seagulls albums doesn't count as being "into punk".

Real punks never say they are into it,nor do they refer to themselves as punks.

So,no you don't get. Now,hurry off to the record store little fella,I heard there's a new Good Charlotte cd out.

  • hahahaha your so funny i only wish to i could sink down to your level but i'm so above you that im worried that ill never get your funk off me bitch

  • Forget Good Charlotte, you sound more like the Hanna Montana type. Both fake none the less.Just like you.

  • Comment removed

  • your the king of punk? fuckin nerd

  • yer a hard core punk dood. 63karl, too funny.

  • go buy another new found glory cd and think its punk...this guys are one of the legendary american punk bands

  • i don't mind cover songs, but i prefer the original, it was meant to be smooth and have feeling, this took all that away , but its cool that they tried a new angle with it

  • going tonight to see these guys w/ FEAR.

  • That show was pretty sick, Lost my damn hat though.

  • it was a sick show

  • yeah it was, im posting video footage from fear and some of the Dickies

  • let me know when you do...i cant find any videos from that show

  • How did that many lobotomized exhibitionists get on a stage together to destroy something beautiful? This is worse then when I sing Rocket Man in the bathroom, including the flushing sounds.

  • look at stans fro, haha.

Ppl that are talkin shit about the dickies just dont get em. There a fun band, they are the most original punk band ever

  • Music has no concrete definition( and I'm not talking about the definition you find in the dictionary)

I think the song is quite enjoyable.

  • Go suck a fuck.

  • I'd be interested in finding out how someone could possibly suck a fuck.

  • stukas over disneyland!!!!!! cant find it any where great tune

  • co's i lov you!!!!!!!! great song NICE in WhitE SaTiN...tjhanks for PosTng

  • Pathetic. that's all I have to say.

  • If it's pathetic why are you watching it?

  • @Ithinkyoosuck he hasn't said he whatched the whole thing. so what's your problem? I think it's pathetic too. This song has been fucked.

  • @TonksKC but in a good way!

  • @TonksKC but in a good way!

  • flash back chameleon a fucking retard

  • A six or seven minute borefest turned into punk excitement. Thanks to the Dickies.I always come back to hear it.

  • I've heard of The Dickies but never HEARD them. Watching this video just now is the first time I actually heard one of their tunes.

It's REAL good. It's amazing how far ahead of their time they were. This style didn't become popular unti the mid-nineties. Although this cover song could be argued as being a 'parody', they seem very serious about the music and playing it well. I'm impressed.

  • flashbackchameleon is a homo

  • haha definitely.

  • I totally agree

  • RUINED a great classic. Trash.

  • agreed

  • I saw these guys 1988 at Scream

  • The Dickies were decent but didn't take shit serious enough. They rock harder than the Moody Blues.Progressive hippy bullshit sucks. This is punk.Punk will always be cooler than that pretentious shit. These guys know how to have fun.I doubt Moody Blues ever had as much fun as this.

  • One of my favorite covers ever, seriously.

  • Well, at least it's a different version. I love hte original, but it's nice to see a different take.

  • To all the complainers about this cover, please remember that the moody blues approved this to be released.

So if they liked it, then you have to keep quiet.

  • Oh yeah and this song has hardly a timeless classic when they covered it.

  • .........or should I say David?

  • everyone is entitled to their opinion i personally think this is Firkin great and i prefare this.

The original is all emotional and drags on and with the sad depressing flute solo etc.

For me a cranked up rock guitar solo blows the flute away, the dickies tempo beat makes the song totally different throughout thus giving it a totally different sound.

I could listen to this version so many times over but i could only listen the original the odd time only

Hey bet justin would agree as well

  • Dumps all over the original, then laughs at the victim, then posts the grainy cellphone footage on YouTube.

  • dickies are cool.... used to have an album from them back in the 80's called stukas over disneyland..... loved this scene...

  • Bad Ass is an understatment!! these guys rock. :)does anyone have monster island on here?

  • What the F is wrong with some of these people commenting? You don't think the tempo of the music fits with what the song is about? Who gives a rats ass you dumb schmucks, The Dickies were a fun band to see in concert, and NOT due to technical excellence in their performance. Go play with your cats, and listen to the songs that you do like.

  • They did Fuck face!!!...... You don't mind if I call you Fuck face, do you?

  • No, I've been called much worse over the internet, but I would mind if you said that to my face ;)

  • Ahhhhhhhhh..................from the days of the old "Video Concert Hall", circa 1981. Amazing how I still remember much of this video!

  • You cant seriously call this a band. I just though it was a piss take when I first saw it lol, but people think this is actually good :S.

I'm not a blues fan, I'm a fan of music, this isn't music in my opinion. It's just horrible noise. The original is SO much better than this version I just feel embaressed watching this.

But hey, we all have different tastes! I just don't like this type of music :)

  • This song makes me feel alive... THIS version!!!

  • If you want music to make you feel alive, then listen to different songs.

This song isn't meant to make you feel "alive"...

  • Is it just me who thinks this sounds horrible?

  • Yeah man! Its you.

This is a great band from back in the

    late 70s early 80's

You must be a 'blues' fan...

  • And me. The song is one thing, but if music and text correspong to each other is another thing, and that is what makes this song so ghastly.

This song is meant to describe the feelings of a person with a broken heart, while the rhythm makes it sound like some cheap discofox song.

  • Hey Guys!!

    BREAAATHE DEEP....BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

    BLAH BLAH

    ....WHAT IS AN ILLUSION

    Fuckin' wankers

  • fuckin great band

  • yeah!!! check out stans FRO! fuckin cool! haha. I love this band.

  • saw em a year ago with the adicts... good show, got a concusion when a dude in landed on me and his doc kicked the back of my head(i weigh like 95 pounds). it was awesome.

  • ahahaha i saw those two in san diego! soo soo good. i got some bad bruises from the railing... but no concussion so i guess it wasn't that bad.

i want leonard's little elf suit.

  • Happy Birthday Leonard.

  • man i wanna see them live so bad!

  • I saw them live last week. They're still the shit :D

  • lucky bastard!!!!

  • Was the creator of ZELDA a

    fan of The Dickies?lol

  • my diapers full!

  • COOL!i get to meet em when we open for em!fantastic!

  • Much better than the original. It's over faster.

This song turned me on to the Dickies.

  • Saw your channel ... no wonder you have a stick up your ass !

  • Nice ... enough homo-phobic refferences?

    Your another obvious closet case.

  • the ramones are better

  • What do you know ? You weren't even born when they were fresh. The Dickies were much better live. They went ape shit on stage , and plated faster than hell. The Ramones pretty much just stood there. The dickies would do stuff like throw a bunch of plastic wrap rolls into the pit , and you could use it to wip dudes off their feet into suicide smashes. I like the Ramones , but hands down if you wanted to have fun , you saw The Dickies. They were nuts on stage.

  • I love when Stan does his little windmill thing.

  • actually i think this version does the original justice. except for the middle, but that's just because i hate obnoxious guitar solos.

  • angelovexx, the guitar solo is a part of what makes this song badass...ya know its half the badassness.

  • Couldn't agree more.

  • nootaramus, go fuck yourself Dickies are badass and I doubt you could do anything to amount to what they've done to the punk scene.

  • because when this came out,Gibby was about 7 years old ya silly wee boy.try and know yer history before you make a cunt of yerself for the whole world to see..

  • faggots.

  • fag!!!!!!!!!!!!! u dont even know what punk is best punk is the dickies the adicts oxymoron peter & the test tube babies the casualties sham 69 the weirdos agent orange black flag minor threat the germs and The Ramones
  • The Rezillos too.

  • casualties are sellouts

  • Don't forget:

Adolescents, D.I., Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedy's, Bad Brains, The Toy Dolls, Cockney Rejects, Vice Squad, Adverts, Stiff Little Fingers, The Clash, The Damned, to name just a few.

Though one of my favorite punk songs of all time (called "Ghetto) is by a band called "The Wall" who were fairly obscure. Check it out if you can find them.

  • i know i forgot so many

just named most of those off the top of my head

  • Dude I hate to tell you this but greenday stole most of their shit from a group called Gang green. Greenday are a bunch of plagerists that no one cares that they did steal their whole sound and persona.

  • Gang Green? the hardcore band?

unlikely...i think green day were more influenced by MTX, the queers and all that pop-punk.

as much as i dislike them now, i still respect "Dookie".

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

    I get it.. Sarcasm.

  • Yo man!

  • Leonard cracks me up!

This is real punk MUSIC, rather than just crap punk.

The Dickies are like a cross between The New York Dolls and the Ramones (and maybe Iggy and the Stooges)

You can't get much better than that.

  • tincan3d you're the fucking faggot around here...go fuck yourself motherfucker.

  • I agree. I want to punch the band in the gooch.

  • the Moody Blues are probably rolling in their graves......wait...they aren't dead, are they? :-)

  • I like it ....More power to the weird cover...It made me listen to the original for the first time

  • The Dickies always had such great pop sensibilities. "I'm Stuck In A Pagoda With Tricia Toyota" is one of my favorite songs.

When they returned from a trip to London in 1978, Stan Lee stopped in at Bomp! Records, where I worked. He gave me an A&M Records promo poster for the Sex Pistols that he dug out of a trash bin at A&M Records.

You may remember, A&M signed the Pistols, and released them a few weeks later, when Rick Wakeman whined, "Either THEY go...or I go!"

  • If the nursing home geezers want the original they shouldn't listen to the dickies. If you have no teeth left you have to chew something soft.

  • Yeah punk rock can still piss people off.

  • Dethspud luffs yer Dickies Hate!

The tears of a non punker are sooo delish!

Check out their cover of the Banana Splits themesong cos that shit rawks too!!!!

    Be Well.

  • Awsome when I get married I want this as my first dance.

  • I was hoping for a more pepped up cover of this song...I love it! Get past the ridiculous video - its just a gimmick - and you have a good cover. Can't stand the original, heh.
