  • this guy is a fucking bad ass. end of story.

  • that's Citigroup NY circa 2001(ish)

  • and WHAT THE FUCK IS THE SONG WHEN THE CREDITS START?!!

  • A mate of my brother works at the investment banking HQ of a major UK bank (owned by the taxpayer) and has just been awarded a £500k bonus for 2010, despite doing nothing all year.

That’s literally nothing. His department was cut back to the extent that his function pretty much disappeared, but he was kept on to ‘manage’ some funds- & these grew massively this year simply due to market recovery. All he does is go into his office each day & read the paper…

  • @SuperTruth77 which university did he go to

  • GOOD ATB MUSIC and a good video.

  • @kixnet this is not ATB, this is by OPUS III - fine day

  • @vdo9999 This is actually Miss Jane - Its a fine day, his music version is remixed by Tiesto.

  • Nice! Good to see another Ranch hand.

  • also ich persönlich finde nonnenmacher durchaus sehr symphatisch.

und ihr dummen proletarier seid doch sowieso nur neidich weil ihr in eurem leben nichts könnt außer hartz4 vl bestmöglich zu versaufen

  • whats the song name AT THE END of the video?not the 'its a fine day' tune

  • All i want is 1 shot ... why wont any1 give it to me ?

  • @0warrior4life have you got a degree?

  • @daud111

    3rd yr in physics

  • @0warrior4life Well then I highly doubt they'll give you a chance since you haven't got Finance, Business, Accounting etc.. But You can apply for a firm. If you're from new york you can apply for John Thomas financial as a physicist. They'll teach you about the whole stock market etc... But You'll need a sponsor or you have to pay for it yourself. Same with Goldman Sachs

  • @0warrior4life daud111 is so full of it, his eyes are yellowish-brown. There are people with HISTORY majors that have got investment banking (M&A) analyst jobs. Approach REAL bankers with the hunger you show here and and they will absolutely help you.

However, you really need to know what you are getting into. 2 years is a lot of time and if you spend it doing something that you don't like and won't find useful in the latter part your life, then it's a big waste of time.

  • Im only 10 and i want to be an Investment banker. Im planning on going to Calstate Universty. College for 6 years. I will take classes on banking and law. I know its a hard job, but i love math and business. I think i can get an advance degree and training. Ive been studying for about a year now! It sounds cool to get that much of a salary! Thanks

  • @zanecreations -- you got no idea. wait till you get older, kid.

  • that music can drive a person crazy

  • What song is this?

  • @brian12934 ITS A FINE DAY- ATB

  • @Bangsta89

heyyy thanks brother! I've been looking for this song since I heard it a long time ago.

  • lol obviously none of your work in ibd. everyone dresses casual on the weekends

  • obviously you dont got any money... or know anyone that makes serious cash a year you fucking idiot

  • whats the song name ??

  • @u2backontop1 fine day by julie thompson - the holden remix is cool

  • What is the name of the last song?!?

  • what's the song at the end??

  • you guys are talking about school? to be in this business you dont NEED SCHOOL. ill tell you what you do need and thats the clients networking skills and good reputation, school cant get you that.

  • Networking skills and a good reputation? THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT BUSINESS SCHOOL GETS YOU FOOL!

  • For those that want to be bankers, get an unfair advantage at ibankingjobhelp dott comm

  • why would you insult a dudes work clothes? seems like your a bit jealous of his income

  • Lol, thats what my co-worker did he insulted me about my clothes (mine cost more than his) and he was jealous I made more money.

  • Sure this guy may be earning an income in the 99.9th percentile, but damn his sense of style is terrible. I bet he's been wearing those khakis since he was 16. What is it with nerds, why do they love that outfit so much? Is there some big convention where they hand out khakis, shirts and belts for free? I thought Ibankers were supposed to wear $6000 tailored, pinstripe suits. He doesn't even have a watch, and his shoes look pretty bad too.

  • If this is the calibre of man these banks have working for them , its no wonder they almost drove themselves into the dustbin of history.

  • He can probably buy the most expensive thing in your life off of a bonus... your pathetic... Do people like Bill Gates care about what people think when they wear comfortable clothes? What makes you think he will. Your a tool. He can make you his slave and make you sew him a new suit if he wanted

  • @jskeetz101 - what a wanker lol.

  • @triwillb WANKER is an understatement....

  • Comment removed

  • who cares about material things when it comes down to it. he makes more money than you ever will and your just jealous.

  • @nickrags95 He makes more money than me but I don't give a fuck. I used to be an IB and it took my soul away, I earned ~ £200,000 + £95k bonus and it was the biggest soul destroying piece of shit ever. You honestly think money > life? I've now started up my own business, I work lilterally 4 hours a day doing admin stuff (my business is based on generating revenue WITHOUT my presence) and earn only £65,000 a year but that is more than anyone makes in the UK and most importantly I am a happy man.

  • @qwertypluss More than Anyone?

  • @citizenofmusic more than the average, apologies.

  • Hey hey people, not so fast, not all people at the I Banks have never ending shifts. The traders have short shifts too so lets not forget that as well.

  • I feel like he might get fired for the whole middle finger and dancing on the desk thing if anybody that works there sees this. LOL

  • an analyst makes $70,000.00 a year with an annual bonus of $40,000-$85,000.

thwy have to sit lifelessly in an office sometimes for 28 hours and require atleast 4 years of business grad school.

  • no. although you are right about the salary and the bonus, an analyst just requires 4 yearas of undergrad degree, preferabely in finance or accounting. an associate or upper level requires an MBA, which is 2 years of grad school, not 4. they make about $350,000 with bonus and work less hours than analysts who work about 100 hours a week/ 20 hours a day.

  • An MBA won't make you that sort of money, or get you that sort of job. An MBA is a masters of business administration.

Portfolio managers in the debt/equities markets require a ~ CFA (chartered financial anaylst), a very difficult post undergrad professional designation.

On average an MBAer will be hard pressed to make that sort of money. The individuals who DO make that sort of money with just an MBA are ones who either have powerful friends, or are naturally talented in their work.

  • please don;t get me wrong. I am not talking about some boutique investment bank after-MBA-associates from a State Uniersity who might make about $150,000 right out of colege.

When I mean MBA- I mean MBA from a top 10 university- NYU, Columbia etc. and a job a bulge bracket- Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley.

I am not talking about portfolio managers. this video is about Investment Banking and on the sell side. yo DO make that kind of money in I Banking

  • Go look at the census for compensation for MBA holders, the average is NOT mid 300s.

And yes, investments bankers with enough experience do make that sort of money, but investment bankers who do that well usually hold CFAs. An MBA doesn't qualify you to handle investments on that level. It's for administrative positions.

  • first of all, I don;t know why are you getting so much hyper over this. Sir, I suggest you check and see a website called "Vault" to see a ground reality, what other Bankes are saying. yes, their base salary starts at about 200 and with bonuses, options etc, the take home of a first year associate can hit up to 350. if you are a member of vault, then i can send you the links.

I am a CFA candidate december but helps only as an analyst. Associates and up typically hold MBAs

  • I'm 16 and looking to get my MBA in Economics and Mathematics. I hope to join an IB when i'm out of university.

I was wondering, I did read the "Vault" pages on IBing and did learn alot, but does one have to start out as an analyst and work they're up or can they start as an associate?

Personally I believe I would be good at this job because i've already made my father and some of his friends over £20,000. all from a sum of £5000 each deposited.

    just wanting some guidance

    -sam

  • whoa! you got a long way to go. you'r 16, I'm guessing you are a high school junior- or in 11th grade. You still have about 6 years to go. It's doable, but very difficult to skip some work experience after your bachelor's degree and go directly for an MBA and get hired as an associate. It's extremely rare, even when you have above a 95% in all your classes. Industry is all about networking

  • thank you for the reply, i realise i have a long way to go, and you have made a very good point about networking. This is something which i shall acknowledge and i shall seek the attention of many IB's and HF managers.

    thank you again.

  • MBA in math and econ? those are not MBA specializations son. and all highly ranked MBA require at least 3 years of work experiences.

  • less than 4 hours of sleep? thats impossible

  • try the bankingorbust website for help with banking interviews

  • yeeees - private equity. of course you can du that, especially when ur bank declines to give u a leveraged loan or credit line :P no more private equity wave baby

  • how much do they make per hr?

  • per hour? i thought bankers are paid monthly

  • If it's money anyone's after then I-banking is the slow way to go. Start your own firm and ride the private equity wave all the way baby.

  • Hey guys, I'm 16 atm and since I was 15 started looking into investment banking, love every aspect of it! Is anyone one here? Can you tell us if its overly stressful? Do you enjoy it? Pm me =]

  • No shit its stressful. If you want a job that allows sleep be a surgeon.

  • i lol to this answer...A SURGEON LOL!!

do u know my dads hours???? lol he gets home at 3am almost every day..sum days he never gets home..not to mention standing for hours upon hours over a torn heart lol??

    not stressful ya right.

  • Information Technology is the best industry. I worked less than 300 hours last year. That's hours, not days. Then again I don't need a have mill house and BMW to be happy. Just the necessities and relationships.

  • I suggest you read "Damn it feels good to be a banker." You will enjoy the book dearly.

  • I used to be an analyst at Citibank for three years. All work, no play. I got out of that shit when i hit 29ys old. I'm glad I did. Now i have a life.

  • what are you doing now?

What did you study in college?

  • Don't do it... Your life will be over. Anyway, you probably won't make it anyway...

  • c0mpshades45: i suggest you keep programming and do a bachelor in computer science or something mathematical. Become a quant or trader. Unless you're purely interested in the M&A side of banking.

  • Man atleast you got into an I-bank. Im still on the outside looking in. Im trying get into a junior analyst role at any top tier bank, Middle or boutique but still no luck. Be happy man, that you at least got into some thing people can consider a prestigious role in the corporate world. Even though your a grunt now, be happy that hedges and other top funds are fighting to get the best of the best of the analysts / or associates.

  • you work at citigroup. or at least whoever made this video did. i recognize my high school out the window, cause thats citigroups global investment banking headquarters

  • nice one...ve done few crazy things..its frustratin nasty killin workin in Ibank bt worth it

  • why are you skydiving? shouldn't you be spending your free time reading the Wall Street Journal? maybe if you were skydiving and reading the paper at the same time...

  • here's where making extra budgets

well its NOT gonna make u rich but atleast ure making some.

    inboxfull.dubaimlm. com

  • Wow! Investment Banking looks like such a cool and exciting job [/Sarcasm]

  • What a juvenile thing to say.

  • awsome video man...i belive you are an i-banker..wanna do the same...im in search of ib summer analyst opportunities..do you anyone? so far got an in interiew with MS and im working on it with FBR...I already got TRP for IO

  • If your investment banker or any other member of your gangster-family should die whilst in the golden shelter, put them outside, but remember to tag them first for identification purposes

  • can anyone pls tell me what the song AT THE END of the clip is, when it plays the credits??? Thanks

  • i am an IT graduate n wana get into banking.

    how?

    im in london

  • I am assuming that you know your banking firms...

So you do what you would do at any normal job, go to the website and apply.

Are you looking to work over in the UK or come to the states?

  • dont mind

    uk or usa

    which 1 is easier?

  • Whats the name of this song please?!

  • "it's a fine day"

  • Thanks!

  • My day yesterday felt like this video. No Joke

  • When was this video made? Computers had to be from 90s

  • Some firms just don't update any of there stuff

  • I def. agree with that! I want to get into investment banking.. I currently am in High school. I've been having a main interest in computer programming for the past 4 years, but now just want to make boatloads of money. Programming is going overseas anyways.

  • no one in high school should say they want to get into banking. start college with an objective mindset and see what you like. money will come if you enjoy your work.

  • I totally agree, I don't know why people have given you 3 thumbs down? I am currently doing my PhD, and investment banking is a real opportunity, but money isn't everything.

  • Yeah I agree with both you guys...that's true. I love business and the economic aspect of the world, but I am going to college with an open mind and leaving myself a lot of opportunities. Do some research and just do everything so you can increase your opportunities rather than limiting yourself to one study for a career. Don't lose your dimension of life...

  • That was cool. I feel like that at work too.

  • Is that Kirsty Hawkshaw? Pretty music.

  • Nice video, the song is a classic too!

  • Awesome vid man, coolest I've seen. This is my dream job as well as I am a sophmore Finance and Economics major. Could you give me any advice or perhaps share how you got into investment banking? Thanks!

  • Great video

  • The best video on YouTube. I love it

  • There is no secret to becoming an investment banker... Get into an ivy league school (Harvard, Yale, Princeton), major in economics and get a high GPA 3.75+ Being physically attractive and having a nice voice is also a big plus.

  • I agree that is the easy way in. Yet not all people have the privlage to go to an ivy league school. what do you then?

  • Go to the best school in your state, obtain a very high GPA, and work for a middle market firm.

  • You can always quit if you don't like it... Cube's suck anyway. All good IB's have gotten rid of them

  • Maybe you are right, but it beats serving fries and wearing a chicken costume though.

  • haha wishful thinking

  • BRILLIANT!

  • i was waiting for his parachute to fail

  • A well shot video. An accurate representation of both life as an analyst and skydiving. As someone who suffers one and relishes the other I enjoyed this greatly. Well done!!

  • good video really creative

  • this guy is living my future LIFE!...ahhhhhhhh AWESOME MAN!

  • Awesome video!

Like the music very much! Where did you get the music?

  • Coming from someone who did an IB internship and is now out of the industry, props.

  • Awesome video!! I enjoy it very much. Thanks for posting. This is what I want to do now that I have my finance degree conferred from an AACSB accredited business school and looking to earn my way into the business world. I find it prohibitely expensive to relocate to the east coast from the midwest for a career opportunity where a healthy job market flourishes. Escaped the low hourly waged unadventurous nightmare for a real challenge!!! You the man!!! :)

  • Awesome job on the video. That is my dream internship and hope to land a job after college of becoming an internship. Excited for all the stress that comes with it.

  • amazing!
