Soft Bulletin what? Deserter's Songs came first. Actually I dig the Flaming Lips and TSB, but nonetheless.

Ummm...in terms of body of quality work. The Flaming Lips are superior hands down. Mercury Rev Deserter's Songs is a great album but Soft Bulletin is better IMO. Plus the Flaming Lips have Yoshimi Battles..., At War With..., and other great albums.
Have you heard Mercury Rev's new album? I'm not a big fan of a more minimalist approach with little substance.
