Thanks for helping me ID this bird! I'm not a "birder," and I'm not originally from NJ. I saw one of these for the first time recently in Gloucester County, NJ.. It was striking because it was so bright yellow, I'd call it "neon yellow." Just beautiful.
We mostly have Robins around here in Wisconsin-state bird, but in the rual areas, if your really careful you can spot a a Goldfinch (male). I've had the privilage to have an Oriole visit the neighborhood this year. And boy are they pretty and loud, ever see an Oriole, Lou?
I moved from New Jersey to Virginia and I saw lots of those birds and also red cardinals.

Oooh He's a pretty one, our state bird is a Goldfinch too, but it's a Western Goldfinch. lol.
