This is pretty neat. You could make it better by having the blue area in a shadow while shining a flash light or other light on the red/yellow/green part. They will heat up and run from the light into the shadow areas.

It's not fake. There are larva inside that emerge as moths. I had some and watched one finally fly away. I hear they jump around to help stay cool.

You of course know that inside them are larvas and that is why beans have this "jump effect". Larvas aren't tasty. Ants are better in my opinion.
