  • A very wonderful song!

First time I heared it was by Alan Jackson.

"To the old rugged cross,I will ever be true

its shame and reproach gladly bear

then he ll call me some day to my home far away

where his glory forever I ll share"

    God Bless You!

    Kind greetings from Germany

  • wow thank you so much for posting this awesome Canadian...this takes me back to my years with my dear ole dad ...Dad must have had 300 albums of Wilf Carter which we still have my Mother has kept them safe ...My father and Mother always wished they could have went to the Calgary stampede to see wilf while he was alive but health problems took there toll on Dad,I could go on for hours talking about being raised with listening to Wilf on the record player but I'll just say thanks for sharing

  • Thank you so much for posting this it brings tears to my eyes. I used to play & sing this for my dad when I was a teenager, it was one of his favourites - he died in 1976 when I was sixteen. These bring back so many memories

  • I remember whenever my late grandmother used to visit for Christmas, she would play Wilf Carter records while us kids played with our toys. Way back 25+ years ago. And I remember his "Christmastime In Canada" record was played too.
